Hello. I am Allanon, the Director of Vindictus.


Although we've already greeted you for New Year, we're here to say hello again. Happy New Year!

We hope that all players spending their 2024 in Vindictus will have a happy year and stay healthy.

The rest of the development team and I will continue to listen to your feedback to ensure that Vindictus continues to be the game that you love.


When I look back on the last four months, I'm left with a lot of disappointment. I expected to get a lot more done, and there were a lot of things that went slower than I thought they would.

Part of me blames the lack of time, part of me blames the fact that we needed to do a lot of groundwork to change direction.

But in this short time, I've felt and experienced many things, large and small, that have influenced our plans for the future.

We're looking forward to staying busy in 2024 so that we can make Vindictus even more satisfying for players than it already is. 


To that end, I'll continue to address pressing issues, improve convenience, and engage with you.


I think the most important and urgent issue is to improve our structure through max level expansion.​

Recently, we've seen from several communities that they're concerned about the direction of item growth.

We're looking back at our previous DevTalks to see if our brief explanations caused more confusion than excitement.

To reduce any confusion you may be experiencing, we're preparing a quick update on our progress. 

The direction of the restructuring has been agreed upon internally, with only some minor disagreements on the methodology, which are currently being resolved internally.

We'd like to finalize our discussions as soon as possible so that players can continue to play without disruption, and we'll share our development direction for the restructuring in a DevTalk in February.


As for the character balance planned in February or March, we've finalized one more round of damage adjustments.

The variance between the top and bottom characters in Hero+ and the second Space Time Distortion, Eisen Ritter, was much larger than expected. So, we decided that an adjustment was in order.

We apologize for the delay in these much-anticipated utility improvements.


We recognize that character customization is a very important part of the game, not just combat.

Starting with the outfits this February, we'll be gradually incorporating concepts and designs you've suggested in past surveys.

We'll continue to be open to feedback on outfit design through multiple channels.

In addition to outfits, many of you have asked us to release new hairstyles.

With all the focus on characters, monsters, and outfits, new hair has been pushed to the back of our priority list.

We know that hair is a very important part of your character's look, but the structural difficulty of creating hair is one of the reasons it's been pushed to the back burner.

However, I'm one of the many players who also wants new hair, so we're going to make sure that we don't put it off much longer.


We're looking at a number of things to improve convenience, but here's a quick rundown of what's coming in the first half of the year.

We're working on events that will reset character names for dormant users and allow you to trade character names, and we are working on a naming system that will allow you to set a representative name for your account, that you call a House name.

We'll also be improving the Ein Lacher system that we talked about in the last DevTalk, and we're thinking about ways to simplify the leveling process.

Among them, we were looking at several directions to simplify the leveling process, including adding a feature that allows you to completely skip dialog. But, due to the current story structure, that is very difficult to implement so we would have to approach it in a different way.

We're also looking to improve other game aspects, which we're not sure if we'll be able to do this year, but we're going to try to make a system where you can feel more connected to your character.

There's a lot of thought that goes into making this all part of a satisfying gaming experience, but we'll move as quickly as we can once we have a direction.  


We're also constantly thinking about ways to diversify our communication channels.

We'll be looking for ways to communicate with you, more than simply bringing you news like this.

We'll make sure we're communicating in the right way, at the right time, so that we don't interrupt your gameplay by popping up too often.

For those who are new to Immortal Life, the game has been on Early Access since 28 April, 2022. During the EA time, we got many valuable suggestions, inputs & bug reports on our Discord channel that helped us refine the mechanics and create the game as it is today. :muxia:

About Your Previous Save Files of Immortal Life

As we’ve previously mentioned, your old save files from Early Access versions will work on the 1.0 update. You will be able to keep your previous character and the hours invested on those beautiful farms. However, we encourage you to start a new game and discover all the changes made in the story, dialogues and missions. You can create a new save to explore the new content and experience all the adjustments, and keep your old character as well.

For those who will jump to the 1.0 version from EA, please do a backup of your previous save data just in case > Right-click Immortal Life on the Steam menu bar > Manage > Browse local files > copy the Savedir folder to another place to save them.

V1.0 Patch Note

V1.0 Sepcial Content: Collab. With The Lost Village!

We want to announce that we’re doing a special collaboration with The Lost Village!
A character from FunYoo Games’ base-building game will be included in Immortal Life. Say hello to your new Mystic Realm Merchant, Red Coat. On their side, The Lost Village will introduce Li Mengqing in the game! This time, her travels have taken her far enough from the Misty Valley.

New Content
1. New main storyline. The story is now complete.
2. New Guiyun Journal in the Quest Menu, where you can check the flow chart of the main story, get tips, how to unlock various features of the game.
3. Improved the storyline about the Friendliness of all your fellow disciples and the corresponding prompts. With each more Heart of Friendliness you get, there will have a related event. After you complete the final event of a fellow disciple, you can invite them to live with you.
4. Exploration quests have been added to Yang Ziqin, Li Mengqing, and Chen Yuanzhou. This feature will be unlocked when the main storyline reaches a certain point. Now you can ask Yang Ziqin to defeat monsters in mystic realms to collect monster materials, Li Mengqing to collect materials in mystic realms, and Chen Yuanzhou to go fishing in various fishing grounds. You can have everything they get from the exploration quests.
5. Added Bookmark feature in the Notes. Now you can bookmark items in the Redeem Recipes, Sect Buildings, Crafting, Spell Upgrade pages. You can check the resources you need in Notes anytime.
6. New item Goods Album, which you can get from Ji Yaohua at Qiongzhen Pavilion when the R&D reaches a certain point. You can develop goods anywhere with this item.
7. Added Quick Cooking feature. Now you can cook up to 10 same dishes at a time.
8. A new 3-floor small mystic realm, Guiyun Villa has been added. After the Main Hall is completed and when you reach the middle stage of cultivation, you can complete the Fairy Mirror quest and enter the mystic realm with it, where you can pick tea leaves.
9. Bonuses have been added to the stone tablet at the Misty Valley Entrance and the Lakeside Pavilion after you complete them. When the stone tablet is completed, you can get 50% more MP when you absorb it. When the pavilion is completed, there is a certain chance that it no longer costs Energy when you use tools.
10. Settings button in the title screen has been added. You can change graphics, sound and other settings before you start the game. A new set of Cameras has been added.
11. Added Fish Rubbing Items quests for legendary fish.
12. Added miniatures of every mystic realm, which can be obtained through Crafting.
13. Added news skins for your residence.
14. Added three new places where you can save your game. You can activate them from Sect Building.
15. Added Steam achievements.
16. Added new collaboration content with independent game Mountain Gates & Mystic Realms.

Optimizations
1. Optimized the game's saving mechanism. When the game save files are corrupted due to the Internet connection lost when the Steam's cloud saving feature is used, the prompts will be more obvious now.
2. Good and Superior Watering Gourd are enhanced when charged: Increased the coverage and movement speed of the cloud. However, the duration of the cloud is slightly reduced. When Wind Seeding is used, the seed bag moves faster now.
3. Optimized the sorting and filtering in the Inventory and Warehouse. Now you can use more functions by right clicking.
4. Adjusted the watering animation of the Watering Gourd. Now up to 50 of each type of Watering Gourd can be built.
5. Modified the animation when entertaining fellow disciples. Now you will sit on the seat of honor and dine with them.
6. Optimized the result at the end of each solar term to avoid all kinds of mechanism failure caused by it; added the animation for the result presentation; Now you will see more clearly the progress of the solar term in the current season when solar terms change.
7. Alchemy and Cooking screens have been remade; optimized other screens including Course Scheduling, Banquet, Notes, and Sect Building; adjusted the color scheme of all screens. Optimized multi-language display.
8. Remade the quest related to the Fairy Mirror. Removed the camera switching function of the Fairy Mirror. Now it is the entrance to the Guiyun Villa Mystic Realm.
9. Remade the quest Divinity Training to make it more interesting. Solved the possibles issues that might be triggered due to the restrictions in the original quest area.
10. Now there is a small chance to get Pearls from Mussels.
11. Some numerical optimizations: increased the drop rate of good and superior items; reduced the purchase prices of seeds; adjusted the types or quantity of materials required for some quests; increased the stats points you get from the courses you take.
12. Adjusted the trigger timing of some side quests.
13. Optimized the animation performance when you receive paper cranes. Now the paper crane icon shows how many unread paper crane messages you currently have.
14. Added Sect Elder Costume as the reward when you are promoted to Sect Elder.
15. Optimized the portals. Now you can go in and out of them in the accelerated state.
16. Optimized the sound effects for real and fake bait-taking during fishing. Now you can make better judgement.
17. Optimized the area where monsters appear near the lotus leaf platform in the Yuhua Mystic Realm. Now you will not be attacked earlier than expected.
18. Optimized the movement of some NPCs.
19. Optimized the effect of some furniture.
20. Optimized the textures in some scenes such as Ziyun Peak, Ferry Stop, and Misty Valley.
21. Now the game loads faster.

Bug Fixes
1. Fixed an issue that a corrupted save file in a slot will affect the save files in other slots. Save file conflict prompts due to cloud saving or manually copied save files are added.
2. Fixed an issue that the game may show error messages and crash when a new character is being created.
3. Fixed an issue that during the banquet quests, the game may show error messages with the debut of a certain character in some specific circumstances. (Even if the issue has been fixed, the game may still show error messages if you have accepted the quest Bridge Repair. So, please try to avoid this quest before and after the update).
4. Fixed an issue that the game may crash when the quest screen is brought up in some specific circumstances.
5. Fixed several issues about the Shennong Scythe: when the acceleration buff is in effect, harvesting with the Shennong Scythe will no longer miss any crops. Now when the Shennong Scythe is selected, empty-handed interaction is also available.
6. Fixed the issue that some NPCs can't be displayed on some maps after they have joined the sect or some areas have become available.
7. Fixed the error during the quest Kitchen Helper (VII).
8. Fixed the issue during the cooking mini-game, the character will move the kitchenware after bringing up the Recipe page.
9. Fixed the issue that the character will go out of the scene when using Get Unstuck.
10. Fixed the issue that after the Misty Valley Trade Route is unlocked, the items that should be unlocked for purchase are not unlocked.
11. Fixed the issue that the actual items you get are not as displayed at some gathering points in Canghai Mystic Realm.
12. Fixed the issue that you still can't get legendary fish at some fishing ground in mystic realms after using Fisher King Pills.
13. Fixed the issue that the game may freeze after two consecutive deaths in some mandatory battles.
14. Fixed the issue that you may get stuck due to the monsters not being refreshed after you revive after defeat in tutorial battles.
15. Fixed the issue that the Pet Inventory becomes unavailable in some cases.
16. Fixed some prompt errors.
17. Fixed the issue that when you play the game a lot with a gamepad, the game is not responding or freezes.
18. Fixed the occasional display error of the cooldown timer in the main screen.
19. Fixed many prompt and text description errors.
20. Fixed the texture issues in some scenes.
21. Fixed the abnormal sound effect in some screens and battles caused by spells.
22. Fix some other bugs.

How To Hack In? - redbuffalo
Hello,
While I am working on the 0.3.x version, I have an update for the current 0.2.x version!
Today I have uploaded an update for web pages. Basically I have redone all in-game webpages.

New way to create pages brings couple of advantages:
  • the webpages text is now selectable and can be copied
  • they are responsive and react better to small browser sizes
  • shop page is slightly changed and I introduced few basic categories for the tools
  • online banking is changed: not all bank transfers are immediate now. They will be immediate only within same bank, otherwise you will have to wait. They can be cancelled though. It makes bank hacking and money stealing a bit more challenging (but I think also more satisfying) :)
  • there is now a variety of bank pages with different colors and layouts

There may be some small bugs because it is a major change behind the scene, I will be improving it.

Not all pages changed a lot, but I hope you will like the new layouts. It was a weakness to create webpages before this change, and some of them were not of best quality. I think this update brings it into the right direction.
It is now easier for me to create more interactive webpages, making them faster and with better quality.
