Citizen of the Galaxy Story I used the Citizen of the Galaxy scenario to add another emperor to my empire. It seemed like a new player could use a few tips on how to do this.
A very brief story chapter runs when you enter the Citizen of the Galaxy scenario. The story provides a few useful tips including how to become a vice emperor.
Particle Harvester Story The final two chapters of the Relic story are finished. It is final in the sense that the conclusion I was after has been reached. The goal of the story was to teach a new player how to use a stargate, which is a big feature that is not at all obvious how to operate.
It is hard to say final. I fully intend to continue writing more stories. At this point there is little left to teach, which is a nice turning point. It means future stories can be written purely for the purpose of telling a fun story.
The story ends with finality; there is no suggestion of more to come so the story can rest for awhile. I will work on the AI avatar emperor now. That is going to take a lot of work.
Particle Harvester A new small spacecraft blueprint was published, 1011 Particle Harvester. It is needed by a new story chapter that was added. In developing this ship I found that it was not possible to make a small particle harvester because of the range required to harvest from a sun.
Harvester range calculation was changed to produce a minimum of 6000m, enough to harvest particles from a star even with the smallest particle harvester. You might only get one particle per sweep but it will work.
Officer Doesn't Harvest There are harvest orders to configure the harvester bays. The officer never marks those orders completed. The ship gets stuck there.
I fixed that problem only to discover those harvest orders were obsolete. The obsolete harvest orders were removed from the order list. They will function if you have them in a mission but you can't add them to new missions.
Village Encounters Aboard Vehicle Village encounters only happen when you are on the ground not in a spacecraft or vehicle. That means you can never find the village while searching on a motor bike or a sailboat.
Village encounters can now occur while you are aboard a vehicle or in a spacecraft, on the ground or in the air. If you are moving quickly in a vehicle you might not notice as you whiz past the indigenous people who show up to greet you.
Bulk Mail Bulk mail does not work in solo play. I discovered this after adding a second emperor to my empire. Neither of them received city reports by mail any longer, because they are sent to multiple recipients.
Fixed.
Henge Fire Henges should not have a pile of logs at the center when the world does not have an indigenous species. There might not even be logs in the environment there.
The fire already did not burn when there was no indigenous people. Now there are no logs either.
Henge Point of Interest World maps do not show henges on the list of points of interest.
Fixed. Henges are now listed on the points of interest of a world map. That enables them to be selected as a transporter destination.
Henge Portal Fire When the henge portal is open, a fiery effect appears. Some changes were made here.
Henge portal fire color is no longer always blue. Instead it is the same kelvin temperature as the ringworld sun to which it is connected.
Henge portal fire is now bigger and more vigorous than the bonfire that burns there when the world has indigenous people. This helps to distinguish the portal from the fire since the kelvin color of the portal can be very close to the bonfire color.
Henge Portal Vehicles Henge portals do not work if I am aboard a vehicle. Can this be changed?
Henge portal now allows vehicles. They also recognize when a person aboard a vehicle has a portal key ready to open the portal.
Ringworld Sector Diagonal In the Reach for the Stars scenario, your homeworld sector is always within one sector of a sector that contains a ringworld. The intent was to keep the distances shorter as the story plays out. However this allowed the ringworld sector to be at the corner diagonal of my starting sector. I had to deadhead across two large gaps to get there, kind of a long way for a beginner player.
Diagonals are no longer considered close enough when finding that starting sector. This does not guarantee a player won't have to deadhead but it should not happen as often.
Asteroid Not There Some people have reported no asteroid appears when it was predicted.
I made some improvements to the code that cleans up asteroids that are no longer wanted. It may fix the problem.
New Spacecraft Landing Gear New spacecraft that are created on the ground should have their landing gear extended.
Done.
New Spacecraft Lights New spacecraft should be created with all of their lights on.
Done.
Spacecraft Lights No Power Spacecraft with no power should not show visible lights.
Fixed. Exterior lights on spacecraft do not light if the ship's capacitor is empty.
Helmet Auto Close When thrown clear of an exploding spacecraft, your helmet visor no longer closes for you automatically unless you are not online at the time. This can happen in the solo game when you have multiple avatars and one avatar’s ship is destroyed while you are not playing them.
Preon Object Particles Preon particle object should have sparkly particles like the preon ring.
Done.
Story Terminator It is not obvious when a story chapter has ended. It only tells me if I click the hint button.
Story chapters are now followed by a section terminator symbol § to show it has ended. This appears in the story dialog window.
Story Dialog Text It would be nice to be able to select the text that appears in the story dialog window.
Done. Each paragraph can be selected individually but all the text on the page cannot be selected at once.
Travel via Stargate A Travel via Stargate order was added to the orders list. It only appears on the list when your current solar system has an active stargate open.
No Deadhead When Stargate Closes A stargate works a lot like a wormhole. However, the crew should not deadhead instead when the gate closes, or other reasons.
Done. Crew now just waits if the stargate cannot be entered for any reason.
Coveralls A simple coverall outfit would be nice for civilians.
Coveralls were added in six stylish colors.
Clothing Wear Algorithm NPCs choose their clothing from a list of preferred types, based on their role in the game. That means all workers in a city will wear the same clothing even if several choices are available.
NPCs now choose clothing from two lists. The first list is their preferred clothing in their order of preference, for those who wear uniforms. The second list is other clothing for which they have no preference; these are selected randomly.
Universe Generation Seed It would be nice to be able to choose a different seed for generation of the solar systems in the universe.
Done. This setting appears on the Program page of the Settings window.
The seed is only used when a new universe is created. Changes to the seed do not affect the current game or any saved games.
NPCs Always Run Story characters should not always run. It is difficult to follow them.
Done. This also applies to indigenous people going to the henge ceremony.
Unfortunately, we are removing Spartaga from sale from Steam and all other outlets. As much as we loved working on the title, we no longer have the original team around to keep it up and the game is not functioning on newer headsets consistently. Though we expect it works fine on older headsets and should continue to do so, we don't want to frustrate any customers trying to buy it new and are having a bad experience.
Please feel free to contact us in the future if you have any questions about the title.
Hi again everyone! Today we've got a bugfix patch for you, lets rundown the changes...
Fixed a crash relating to text rendering in certain languages. Thank you for your patience with this one, it was surprisingly difficult to identify what was causing this issue! A big thanks to GameMaker developers YoYo Games for helping us track this one down!
Fixed a crash with Huntress's alternate Secondary that could occur online.
Fixed a rendering issue with certain backgrounds in the Environment Log as of the previous patch.
Fixed softlocks which could occur in certain circumstances in Judgement.
Fixed a crash when Acrid's bubble touched the head of a friendly Bramble.
Fixed Acrid's alternate Utility skill becoming unavailable for the rest of the stage if the projectile was launched into a pit.
Fixed HAN-D's VENT Drone not interacting properly with aiming.
Fixed HAN-D's VENT Drone sometimes failing to fire.
Fixed Commando turning around while sliding.
Fixed Commando "storing" the slide state if grabbing a rope while sliding.
Fixed poor interaction of both of Pilot's primary skills with aiming.
Pilot's Secondary skill now interacts with Brilliant Behemoth in a more expected way.
Pilot no longer incurs slowdown from backing up while shooting while his parachute is active.
Drifter's default Special skill no longer gets stuck when attack speed is really high.
Drifter's alternate Utility skill now pushes cubes spawned by the alternate Secondary.
Drifter's Primary skill no longer pulls the player forward if standing on a cube.
Drifter's cubes now interact with geysers.
Loader and Drifter can now turn while executing their Primary skill combos.
Enforcer's alternate Primary skill now consistently knocks enemies back in the direction it was fired.
Bandit's Ancient Scepter boosted alternate Special skill now fires for 2x500% damage like its default counterpart.
Fixed skills affected by Ancient Scepter not resetting their cooldowns between stages.
Fixed Substandard Duplicator incorrectly displaying an icon when collecting Food items, even though it didn't actually clone them.
Fixed the interact input being able to activate multiple things in a single press.
Fixed Pilot's Parachute physics change applying at the start of the next stage if the player died while it was active.
Fixed the Toxin effect applying while the player was dead.
Fixed certain item particle effects applying while the player is dead.
Fixed Ceremonial Dagger projectiles not dealing damage if the actor that spawned them was destroyed before they dealt damage, most noticeable with the Engineer's laser turret.
Red Whip's effect may now kick in while the player is climbing.
As always thanks for playing! If you've got any feedback/comments, or hell. if you just wanna hang out and chat about how much you are in love with Drifter - please swing by our Discord Server and let us know! Actually keep that last thing to yourself plz, thx.
● M10 Wolverine with full physics and new armour system. ● Rocks to the Normandy Fields map. ● Possibility to dig foxholes/deform terrain using a shovel for regular light infantry.
CHANGED:
● M2 Browning now has its own weapon icon (in land vehicles). ● Units encyclopedia now has the new vegetation rendering system. ● 13mm and smaller caliber weapons for planes now have their own icon in the UI. ● Improved in-game chat readability. ● Since the vegetation shader issue is gone, we can now re enable the new (more performant) vegetation rendering system and use vegetation masks instead of directly removing the vegetation from the terrain (which currently makes the entire vegetation flicker). ● Updated the loading screen images from Normandy Fields and the Encyclopedia. ● New fog rendering system. Looks way better, and is more performant that standard/default Unity one. Comes as a replacement for the old fog (default) we had. ● New 'vegetation blanket' system. Before, all of the vegetation was perpendicular to the ground, now, they will be perfectly following the terrain curves. Including rocks, etc. Looks way better. No more clippping grass or ferns or rocks :) ● When the camera is directly in front of grass, it will now 'dissolve' it like it does for leaves and branches on trees, to allow for better visibility. Without this, proning and trying to shoot/see anybody was impossible. ● The way the touch bending looks has been improved. No more entire bush jiggling when moving through. ● Updated the AI pathfinding system. Should be more performant now. ● Reduced the lags created by explosions/craters generation.
FIXED:
● Speed lerping issue with land vehicles. If you were idling and suddenly started to move backwards, for a second or two the max speed was set to be the road speed, you would get a very strong impulsion backwards and then slowly moving back to regular speed. ● Xbox controllers now properly works. PS5 controllers should work too but I cannot test it as I don't have any PS5 controller nearby. ● Winter biome/season textures. ● After weeks/months of waiting and trying to fix the vegetation shader issue when playing during fall or winter, we are proud (very, very happy) to announce that it is fixed! ● Performance issues due to bad optimization of reflection probes in wooden pillboxes. ● Potentially fixed the scoreboard UI issue (ghost). ● AI tanks aiming way too fast (all selected weapons would all try to turn the turret/move the gun on their own, resulting in 2x or 3x turret/gun movement speed).

Thank you for playing Counterpact! Hopefully, you continue to enjoy the game. This update brings quite a few bug fixes and quality of life features, as well as a new weapon for Loie the Inker!
New Content:
New Loie the Inker weapon: Work In Progress
This Defense weapon may not pack as much of a punch as some of her other weapons, but it can still cut through the competition (quite literally)! The sawblades it shoots penetrate enemies when initially shot, and can deny a small area upon hitting the environment. You can shoot oil at your enemies to make them slip into the sawblades, causing them to be ignited when they get hit!
New Gilded Gauntlet: Origins
Here's a not-so-friendly reminder that this is, indeed, a bullet hell. It's just you against Gale... and Gale? And also Gale? Let's hope your dodging skills are sharp!
New Gilded Gauntlet Item: Shiniko the Reaper's Dollification
Balancing Adjustments:
The lower difficulties of the Gilded Spire no longer increase enemy attack delay, but instead decrease enemy health.
The intention of this change is to emphasize the bullet hell focus of the Gilded Spire, as there seems to be common misunderstandings about what the Gilded Spire actually is, which in turn seems to lead to inefficient playstyles.
Bug Fixes:
Players who have not completely connected no longer appear on the scoreboard or in disconnect messages.
Melee attacks no longer hit intangible enemies.
Supernova missile detonation is now properly affected by delta time.
Fixed an issue where the first unfavorited inventory emote and chair (the latter always being the Kitchen Chair) were being used as the default items in their respective menus.
Miscellaneous:
The AutoCam now prioritizes following the Security Cell in the Keepaway mode, so long as the Security Cell is not at "home".
The "PlayerBypass" setting can now be added to the "Server" section of the INI to allow server hosts to set a player limit larger than 16.
This setting is "secret" as large player numbers may have adverse effects; server hosts are responsible for any issues that are caused by using this setting.
For security purposes, the internal limit is still capped at 50 players.
KO streaks are now displayed on the scoreboard.
Certain important buttons on the main menu and in-game menu now appear with different colors.
Attempting to view the Gilded Gashapon's contents without having the Gilded Gauntlet unlocked will now display information about how to unlock the Gilded Gauntlet.
An option has been added to adjust how long chat messages remain before fading out.
An option has been added to automatically kick players who remain as spectators without chatting for extended periods of time.
This is primarily to combat an issue where players would queue into matchmaking, then proceed to never join a team or participate in the game in any way, resulting in heavily lopsided games and generally wasting time for all those involved.
