First of all, a happy new year. Secondly, I want to take this post to talk about upcoming UI changes that I have been planning for a little while, but that I have deferred to making in 0.9 for a few reasons.
As some of you may be able to tell, the majority of the current UI is essentially programmer art. Most of it was created to simply give me a button to press to enable some functionality, and while I have added some polish and tooltips, etc. where I could, a lot of it has evolved with the functionality (and is sometimes even lagging behind what the backend can do). As a result, some of it is not as intuitive as it could have been. Movement of goods between warehouses, setting up sales rules for goods, etc, are all “locked” behind having the UI explained to you in the tutorial (which is one of the reasons for why I had prioritised updating it before finishing 0.8), but anyone who has not played the tutorial will likely be lost as to what to do.
This is of course not ideal. Not everyone likes to play tutorials, especially one as long as the one of Path to Prosperity, and picking the game up after a few months of not playing means having to try to remember how to get things done. So, a proper redesign of the UI to be more intuitive is sorely needed.
The main reason why it hasn't happened yet, is that I am intending to add a few new functions in 0.9 which I will need to plan for. One of them is that processing buildings will get a choice of “recipes”. Until recently, I had not fully decided on how I wanted to do this: Would each person working in building work on a recipe chosen by the player? Would each building cycle through the recipes one by one (which is currently the case for things like the smelter)? Or would each building simply be set to one recipe at a time? There are many pros and cons for each of them, but I have more or less decided on the last. Being able to set one recipe per building will allow the player to decide how many villagers will be working on the recipe while being straightforward in terms of what needs to be shown (one set of inputs and outputs, one progress bar to see how far along the building is in making it), and it will give players a good reason to build more than one building of the same type (beyond raw output).
Of course there are other new functions I want to add to 0.9 (research, transport carts, village management) which all require new UIs that I still have to plan for - but rest assured that improvements are in the works.
Reverse Shrines. Explode shrines to make them switch between their normal and reverse forms and reveal their new abilities.

You can now hit enemies with minion staves. This deals no damage but can help when dealing with spiders.
Trident will now knock you back if it fails to knock back an enemy

Dark poison now damages enemies before they get a chance to move which is consistent with all other items. However, dark poison no longer damages enemies on its first turn.

Lithia 1st Path, who utilizes the power of ores and combined magic items with relics to deal even greater damage, is updated!

★ Lithia Exclusive Village: Beyond the Rift
Lithia Only Village, ‘Beyond the Rift’ is updated.
You cannot move your character in ‘Beyond the Rift’. There are no other NPCs other than the ‘Rift inside the Rift’ and the mailbox.
Upon achieving Lv. 99, Lithia can move to Elrianode through Rift inside the Rift NPC.
Upon achieving Lv. 99, Lithia can also move to Ruben ~ Elrianode through Cobo Transportation Service.
Other characters cannot enter Lithia’s realm

8 new dungeons that only Lithia can enter are added.
Lithia cannot enter Ruben ~ Elrianode dungeons before Lv. 99 and can only enter Lithia only dungeons.
Lithia can enter Ruben ~ Elrianode region dungeons after achieving Lv. 99. (Upon clearing Epic Quest ‘Entering Demon Realm’, Lithia can enter Varnimyr region like other characters.)

Lithia can enter Velder Academy Library, Velder Academy Athletic Meet, Velder Academy Concert, Dessert Café, ELSTAR Showcase, ELSTAR Signing event dungeons.
Lithia cannot enter Elrios City Run, Elrios City Defense, Heart El Puzzle event dungeons.
Lithia cannot open the cube exchange reward item from the Velder Academy Event.
We will announce at a later date when the entry to the event dungeons and opening the cube becomes available.

You can purchase a new item, ‘Warrior’s Courageous Aura’ from the EP Shop.
You can use ‘Warrior's Courageous Aura’ to upgrade Ring of Fury and Rings of Skills through NPC Camilla.

With the improvement of the New/Returning Attendance, the previous attendance event will end.

Quick update on the state of the project: - To bring us out of Early Access, we are planning on adding one more boss to Henko, a few more contracts. - We're also looking at what it would take to bring Luminor to Android, as well as adding controller support. - We'll also add support for the Dark Matter and Intrepid expansions once those have begun shipping.
2023 was a monumental year for Brawlhalla and the community. Hi everyone! First patch of the new year. Today we added a few small fixes, some content for use right now, and some content that will show up in the finished campaign.
Fixed vignette effect, which had not been loading correctly.
Added poor-quality equipment and legendary-quality equipment. Most of the equipment that drops off defeated enemies will be of poor quality. Most of the equipment you steal will be common quality. Most of the uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary drops will come from finishing dungeons.
Fixed camera logic to account for the possibility that the player is underground. Before, if the camera detected that was inside the landscape, the camera would place itself above the landscape. That resulted in buggy behavior when the character was in a cave below the landscape. This behavior has been corrected.
Added additional content not yet visible in the Early Access campaign.

Full-screen mode is now available. You can now return to the main menu from the game. Adjusted the size of UI text. Added a player's treasure backpack, allowing free switching of owned treasures during battles. Each race-specific treasure increased to two. Added new challenge mode. Added two challenges. Added a signet feature; now new cards need to be unlocked from here. Pressing the number keys 1, 2, 3 can quickly adjust the game speed now. Adjusted the values of some equipment cards. Added some new goddess blessings. After the battle, you can see the newly unlocked cards. Redesigned the treasure warehouse.
Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue where soldier units would sometimes run out of the combat area. Fixed an issue where the Next Day button would sometimes resend repeatedly.
