Just updated a small issue with the Online Setting!
O.A.C - World Begins - VBB

Hello everyone!

My first game O.A.C World Begins, which has been waiting on your wishlists for a long time, will meet you strategy lovers on February 2, 2024!

I set out to do the best for everyone who loves grand strategy and depth. I based the game on a Futuristic story model. At the same time, through O.A.C you will be assured that you are a unique character who exists between an extraordinary existence and the real world.

"O.A.C is a reflection of your inner world that distinguishes you and your personality from the majority."

Every decision you make, all the relationships you establish, the character you build and the traits you develop will reflect your soul to help you shape the future.

I'm very excited about this process. And I wanted to share my excitement with you right away. ːsteamhappyː ːsteamhappyː

Starting from February 2nd, your first impressions, likes and comments will motivate me so that I can take O.A.C to a better level than the alpha version. I have tried to do my best since 2021. But is this enough? Absolutely no, it's not enough. However, you can be sure that I use the opportunities at my disposal to the highest level. Now it's time to work harder for more!

What will you see on February 2?

Please note that from the date of O.A.C release until the next update, only 2 countries (Turkiye, Greece) will be playable, the other countries will be locked.

If you want to make a purchase after all countries are published, you can wait for the next announcement.

However, any support you give will help me speed up this process. Thank you. <3

Detected/possible bug fixes on the 15th of every month, you will receive major update every 3 months.

In other words, in the May big update, U.S.A. Russia, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, France, England, Spain, Italy, Brazil locks will be removed and playability will be confirmed.

Until next update. In the first 3 months, only Turkiye and Greece are among the countries that the player can choose as a starting point.

This situation will continue as new countries appear in every major update. Even though basically all the countries of the world are ready, the artificial intelligence involved in information input and commercial/military/social relations of the countries with each other must work flawlessly. My testing and development continues non-stop.

Currently, relations can be established with all countries and you can include them in the game, but as a player, you cannot start the game by selecting other countries at the beginning. Until the next update, other countries are locked.

We are in Early Access, alpha version for now.

Players who purchase the game can obtain the music album I prepared specifically for O.A.C as an additional package for free.

Feel free to let me know any bugs, shortcomings or ideas you encounter in the game. This will be very useful for me. ːsteamthumbsupː

Although all major countries and all of smaller countries are ready, artificial intelligence has flaws that need to be tested. For this reason, in major updates (in each update), playability locks will be unlocked for you, provided that there are 10 countries each.

I will share a cinematic trailer and a new gameplay video in the middle of this month. An old version gameplay video is available in our store.

For your suggestions and requests, do not forget to write to the forum in the Steam community. <3

In future updates, many modes such as direct "Skirmish Mode", World War 3 scenario and Space Invasion will be offered free of charge to O.A.C players.

Although I cannot yet give a date for the multiplayer release, I will continue to use all the income I make by establishing a team for the development of O.A.C. But a multiplayer O.A.C experience is definitely high on my plans.

Thank you to everyone who has been waiting for a long time, thank you to the people from all over the world with whom I share my excitement.

Never forget that I am progressing thanks to you.

You can like this announcement and support me further by sharing it with your loved ones on any social media platform. Thank you so much!

O.A.C World Begins!

How to Enter

Just post your submission to this thread to be entered into the competition. It's ideal if your content is easy to consume. A general guide for this is that your submission should take no longer than three minutes to listen to or view. It's permitted to post content that is longer than three minutes but in some cases it may put your submission at a disadvantage if it's significantly difficult to engage with your content.

The winning submissions will be selected based the following criteria:

  • How skillfully your talent has been executed.
  • How true it remains to the Affliction theme of Path of Exile.
  • How compelling or entertaining the submission is.

Conditions
  • The competition will run from the time of this post until Wednesday the 31st of January at 5pm NZT (January 30th at 8pm PST). Submissions made after this time will not be counted. We'll post the winners sometime in the following days.
  • Any work that is submitted must be your own and must be created after the launch of this competition.
  • AI generated art will not be accepted. We reserve the right to disqualify your entry if we believe that it is AI generated.
  • Multiple submissions are welcome.
  • If you want to create a montage or mash-up of other artists' work or videos, this is permitted as long as it follows all legal guidelines of fair use standards.

Best of luck to everyone who is participating in the competition!

Cosmorists - Stellar Roots
The big three changes of this update
Main menu
This update kicks off with a much needed overhaul to some main menu UIs. The start of it looks mostly the same apart from the settings icon being gray instead of blue, but the UIs for many of them have been redesigned and polished with new space-y menu music playing in the background!

The world selection UI:

This UI now has some sound effects when hovering over a save file, and when scrolling for some polish!

The audio UI:

The player controls UI:

The display UI:

Notice that there are now settings for going fullscreen, and the resolution when going fullscreen. These are features taken for granted in other games regardless of the genre, but were completely absent from Cosmorists until this update!

Landing sites
The player now has the option to land anywhere on the planet via landing sites instead of a single landing spot. Each landing site will tell the player what biome it is, what the temperature is, and the coordinates of the landing site. Since each landing site is 1049 km across, or 2²⁰ tiles across and each site is a similar distance apart from each other, it reveals the millions of square kilometers of explorable land to explore!
This is the player landing on a different part of Tierra as seen in the gif below:

Note that the appearance of the map above will only apply to saves created in this update. Existing saves will still have this feature, but the map for those existing saves will look more like what's seen in the image below:

Why does the map for existing saves look all jumbled?
This is to make existing saves backwards compatible with the new update. If this new world generation overrides the existing saves, the player's main base will suddenly be in a hot desert, savanna, subtropical forest, or jungle biome, with temperatures suddenly jumping to between 35°C in the best case scenario and 65°C in the worst case. Keeping the map this way will ensure that a scenario like this never occurs. This isn't a bug, it's the old generation system at work, but zoomed out so far that it looks like a random, disorganized mess of biomes.

For the saves created in this update, here's what to expect from this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V1Y4c4OE2k
For the initial introduction that evolved into the map in the video above, here's what it was like here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-KsN4NWBco

After the spaceship is repaired, the player is able to go into orbit with less fuel required to take off than going to another planet, but will only allow the player to land somewhere else on the planet. In the screenshot below, the player can't go to another planet due to the weight, but can still afford to orbit.

Once in orbit, a map will automatically appear asking where on the planet to land.

Treasure
This update also adds treasure. They can be scattered around occasionally on the surface in the form of crates, but are most common in caves of all worlds except for Luna. All treasure will cost coins to open, which simultaneously adds the first incentive for players to obtain coins via enemies, encouraging combat, and reduces the game loop's dependency on mining. This gives combat a larger role for obtaining resources both directly from the enemy, and coins to save up for treasure.

Here's a sample of treasure found on the surface for a cheap price of around 4 coins per crate in the gif below:

Here's a demonstration of the player opening up more expensive treasure in the caves in the gif below:

They can also spawn in other planets, this is barrel treasure in Aquatica's caves:

For more details on this treasure system, here it is in the video below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X46p_SSFBFg

Other highlights
Doors
In the world of base building, one thing was missing, and that was doors. They've been added in this update as well, and the player's base will now be safer from enemies without having to break and place walls each time the player wants to enter or leave their base!

Here's the door in action from this gif:

Player
When mining something by hand, the player will now have a mining animation as seen in the gif below:

In that gif is coal ore, a new ore intended to be used as an alternative fuel source for furnaces and spaceships.

World Generation
All worlds
The biomes of all new saves will now span hundreds, sometimes over 1000 km across. The only exception to this are sub-biomes, most commonly in caves, whose size is similar to that of the old world generation.
Tierra
In the dirt, mushroom, and berry caves, dirt walls will now generate alongside stone as a cave wall with less durability than the stone ones, making it easier to dig through for lower tier pickaxes.

Bug fixes
Exploits
  • Smelting an item, cutting the output in half and clicking on that same output will cause the output to have a max stack amount, and a negative amount with the amount difference being the original amount.
Freezes
  • Filling up the spaceship with fuel with no empty inventory slots causes the game to stop responding, and if not saved beforehand, the save data created in that session becomes lost.
Inconvenience
  • Going fullscreen, leaving the game, and coming back will cause the game to automatically go to windowed mode each time.
  • Opening a chest or furnace will split the item if the mouse is hovering over an item in the inventory or furnace.
Sounds
  • The spaceship launch sound will sometimes play quietly when in space, and play on a low-volume loop.
  • The grass in the wilting cave biome will make the stone footstep sound effect.
