Happy New Year! The year 2024 has come. Congratulations to everyone!
If all goes well, 2024 will be the year of I Am Mouse's early access release. In the next months, I plan to release a demo version of the game on Steam and much more.
Just a few stocking stuffers while we were reorganizing our workflow and preparing for that Early Access release. Christmas came a little late at B.O.D.A.C.I.O.U.S. HQ, but we hope those few of you who played this December enjoyed the second coming of Halloween! Future Decembers should be a tad more jingle jangle, and for what remains of this one.
In this update: - Christmas outfits and decorations at HQ (the Training level) - Fixed Halloween decorations subsuming all holidays (back to October, where you belong!) - A lot of groundwork and bug fixes mostly pertaining to future content (gadgets, outfits, new levels) - Reworked some of the girls' textures - Streamer mode (Censor mosaic)
Happy New Year's Eve!
P.S. We apologise to our players closer to the Eastern Hemisphere for the delay, and wish them a happy New Year!
Three more terrifying fiends have been added to the depths: the Skinless Walker, Doomringer, and Ignifex
Cruciform Thralls now sometimes scream when charging you
The Priest of Blood's boss arena now contains foul, mysterious eggs...
Gums can now shove their bulk backwards, knocking away players at their rear
Greaselings now spread fire to nearby creatures and objects while burning
Various other minor tweaks to enemy difficulty
Ranged combat changes
You can now find more ranged weapons: shortbows, longbows, and greatbows
Bolts are now Arrows, and are used by both crossbows and regular bows
Arrows have a high chance to persist after being fired, allowing you to pick them up again
Projectiles now fire with different speed/duration multipliers from different weapons
Crossbows now take longer to reload
Quivers no longer provide endless ammo, but instead provide a larger, dedicated ammo pool that gets refilled as you discover ammo of the same type on your Descent.
Individual arrows now gleam on the ground (like gold)
Other Changes
Vampiric blood consumption now glows, making it much more visible in dark areas
The Frozen Needles spell has been reworked and now provides a buff that auto-summons needles over time, instead of constantly needing to be recast
Icicles summoned by Frozen Needles can now be used as arrows if you have no other ammo
Carried items now show a comparison against the slot they would replace (if no space remains)
Dropped horns can now be played
Corpses of summons and ephemeral creatures now fade away and vanish
Happy Holidays everyone! 2023 has been a rollercoaster of a year, but we feel we are ending it on a high note. The team is feeling confident and cohesive, excited for what awaits for us and for Terrarians everywhere in 2024. Hello everyone!
The tModLoader team and our amazing community of contributors continues to improve tModLoader. On Jan 2nd, 2024 the monthly update release of tModLoader will go live. This month's release mainly contains bug fixes.
As we approach the holiday season, we've aimed to keep this update light on changes where possible, and hope everyone can enjoy the holiday season to the fullest.
We will also be targeting the stable release for January 2nd as opposed to the 1st in lieu of the holiday season.
Modders and users should also keep an eye out for our monthly Steam announcement on the 2nd where a complete listing of bug fixes and API changes for this month's release will be listed. The in-game news button on the main menu will take you directly to the announcement once it is live.
As always, if you are having issues of any sort, definitely don't hesitate to check out our FAQ on github or reach out to us at our Discord.

Another year come and gone - and another year of the fantastic journey that has been our time on Terraria. So many big things have been accomplished this year, it is hard to really keep count - but we are beyond excited for 1.4.5... and then (fingers VERY crossed), the long-awaited first pass at crossplay! TERRARIA - THE BOARD GAME UPDATES
TERRARIA - THE BOARD GAME DESIGNER DIARY
Here we are again with the latest "Designer Diary" entry from the lead designer for Terraria: the Board Game - Chris Kingsnorth. Let's see what he and the Paper Fort team have been up to over the last month! --- Hello Terrarians!
Chris here, game developer at Paper Fort Games. I’m back with the final Terraria: The Board Game designer diary of 2023. This month, I’m going to be reflecting on PAX Unplugged 2023 and talking about our previous Kickstarter experience.
PAX Unplugged From December 1st to 3rd we attended PAX Unplugged (PAXU) held in Philadelphia, US. We had the first in-person showing of our latest boss miniatures (Queen Bee, Eye of Cthulhu and Brain of Cthulhu) including painted versions of these, plus our Wall of Flesh and King Slime. Even though we were still showing our prototype, the game was chosen by well-known board game content creator Grant Lyon as one of his Best Games of PAXU; he was clearly impressed by the modular miniatures!
It was a fantastic chance to share our passion for Terraria with hundreds of fans, as well as attendees unfamiliar with the game. Thanks to everyone who stopped by! For those of you who weren’t there to see the minis, you can watch a timelapse of the painting of Queen Bee over on Instagram. While you’re there; follow us to get more Terraria content!
Why Kickstarter and Why Trust Us? Terraria: The Board Game will be launched on Kickstarter and we’re currently aiming to kick it off in March 2024. Crowdfunding is often used for board games based on videogames and when used well, it’s a great way to engage the fan community in the final stages of development. We want to involve you all in the process via contests, reveals, and regular updates over the course of the campaign. Having the opportunity to assemble fans in one place and interact in real-time is one of the best things about crowdfunding, and it’s something that we couldn’t do if the game went straight to retail. It also means that we can offer backers exclusive upgrades, promos and more as part of the campaign.
We’ve recently been asked about our prior Kickstarter experience, so let me tell you a little bit about our previous board game campaign; Cosmoctopus!
Cosmoctopus was funded well beyond initial expectations, and fulfilment has been successfully completed for all backers. We’re experienced with the Kickstarter platform and have established strong relationships with trusted manufacturing and logistics partners.
Cosmoctopus is now available worldwide, including at Barnes & Noble, and has been translated into six languages. It has featured in multiple ‘Top Games of 2023’ lists and has received awards including the Dice Tower’s Seal of Approval, Sir Thecos’ Gold Ace of Games and Senet Magazine’s Top Choice for Winter 2023.

In 2023, after years of development, Mondealy has finally been released. Without the support of the community, the game might never have been released, and by some miracle it was finished nonetheless, which honestly amazes me! The whole development process seems surreal now, I don't even know how I managed to create such a large project while basically being the only developer. But it would be wrong not to mention the many people who helped me along the way. My friends, acquaintances and fans, all of them somehow participated in the creation, even if only with a kind word. Special thanks go to the game's many musicians, who supported its unique and memorable style with their wonderful music. And of course thanks to each of you who are reading this text right now! A game without players can hardly be called a game. You are all very important to me!
Continuing with various thoughts - honestly, I expected something more from the game. Both from myself, in terms of its execution, and how it would prove itself upon release. And despite that, it could have been a lot worse! Many debut indie projects perform exceptionally poorly and barely break the ten sales mark. I'm lucky not to be on that extensive list of tragic projects and that's a great privilege. So, thank you to everyone who helped the game to become better known or created something related to it, even if there are not many of you, but I am very, very grateful to you all! I hope Mondealy has found its place in your hearts and was worth the wait.
The first few months after release I did nothing and rested, but I have a lot of plans and ideas that I want to execute with future projects. Some of them will be related to Mondealy characters, some won't, but I think you all have something to look forward to from me in the future. I will continue making games for many, many more years to come!
Thank you all! I hope to see you all in 2024! ːrufus_happyː
