2023 was a meaningful year for GrandChase Classic.
The new character Ai has joined the ranks of GrandChase after Decanee. Temple of Time, Void Raid Dungeon, Season Pass System, Event, Hero Dungeon Improvements, and many other updates have been made to the game.
Community contests, Regional Tournaments, and Official Broadcasts marked the possibility of growth for the GrandChase community. We would like to thank all the players who have enjoyed our game and have made great suggestions and feedback to further improve our game where we have lacked.
Many members with love for the game have joined our development team to play games together, learn, and understand. We are together growing as a team with a single goal: “Make GrandChase a Great Game that will be loved for years”. We hope to deliver an enjoyable game for the years to come.
We do understand that we lack in certain areas and that there is more room for improvement. We will communicate with other players to quickly improve in areas where we lack.
In the coming new year, we hope everyone has a wonderful year and their wishes come true. We will continue with grand updates and enjoyable news for GrandChase in 2024.
What a year it's been! As we prepare for an exciting 2024 with the Draw & Guess major update, let's rewind the clock and relive some highlights of the incredible journey we've had together.
The first half of the year we focused on implementing a new network solution among other improvements to the game.
Around September things started to get more exciting as we finally started to talk about the major update planned for early 2024.
Our very first announcement included a preview of a brand new feature, the Colour Palettes! 🎨
Right after that, we entered Spooky Season and welcomed Scarlet to Draw & Guess with a fun Halloween Contest full of incredible submissions. 👻
With Scarlet on board, it was time to share another new feature preview, the Sketchbook! We shared everything about it on our Discord server, so make sure to check it out in case you missed it.
October was over and as we removed all the pumpkins and spider webs to give room to the Christmas tree, we announced yet another feature: Layers!
Next, we discussed a very important change to how Player Names will work after the major update in 2024.
It’s now December, temperatures are dropping and winter is coming. Perfect time for a Christmas Contest filled with heartwarming artwork from our amazing players! #DGChristmas2023
Finally, with just 4 days until 2024, we realized Scarlet needed some company while waiting for the update. So we had Gus & Ollie join the team!
All in all, this was a wonderful year and our team worked really hard on this new version and we can’t wait to share the next chapter of Draw & Guess with you. Make sure to join us on Discord, Twitter, and TikTok so you don’t miss any news. 👀
Thank you for an incredible year! Here's to an amazing 2024 filled with creativity and joy!
- Added 5 new maps to the map pool. - Added 5 new bonus maps. - Duplicate bonus maps will no longer appear more than once per run. - Added 1 new achievement to the Steam version. - Various other small tweaks/bug fixes.
Today, we have updated the game "CarsFuckingDragons"!! CELEBRATION!!
What is new, might you ask? We added controller configuration that when you go into the MENU OPTIONS (Dashboard) with your controller, it will have CONTROLLER CONFIGURATION. Additionally, we added the same with KEYBOARD CONFIGURATION (called Keyboard Config). I recommend hitting "WASD movement layout which will also give you character movement for arrow keys.
I want to say a HEARTFELT Thank You for supporting the game and the gaming studio. We have released other games in the meantime but coming back to this to have a working copy and give it a update is actually a pretty big thing!
AND THE GAME IS CURRENTLY ON SALE FOR THE STEAM WINTER SALE!!
1、Optimize the layout of the achievement system, change the tab from top to side 2、Classic mode->Replace the model of Elf Queen. 3、Memory in the Mirror->When follower has effects such as madness, taunt, etc., the corresponding logo will be added to the pieces. 4. Add setting buttons to the exploration interface and battle interface of each mode, which is convenient for adjusting the volume and setting the speed up of the animation of the boss's card during the game. 5. Optimize the timing of automatic closure of the game artwork when starting a battle, avoiding the situation that the interface suddenly closes when you slide to view the artwork and accidentally sell the attachments on the field.
Update #35 keep the Winter Sale running hot with still the best price of the year, new appearance options for your mercs, new items for sale from your underworld corrupt cop friend, improved Contact Traits Indebted and Partner and more fixes and improvements straight from your F10s!
If you're enjoying the pace of improvements and the speed of support for issues, please leave a review! You're always able to update your review later but if you feel like we are on the right track a 👍 helps immensely!
New 'Dues, New Hues
The marketing department made me write it; I swear. But its true - we've added 6 new haircuts total for your characters to check out and try. And we've also added a new row of browns to the color picker for any appearance item's colors.
New Military Items for Sale
During the Carnivore storyline, it is referenced multiple times that the corrupt cop is willing to sell military gear under the table for a higher price. This contact service was never correctly connected to the contact in the story. With Update #35, we've resolved that for existing games (it will immediately appear) and new games running Carnivore.
The new milsec item options include higher power IO-Chargers, Frag Grenades and access to other rare items like Echo Jammers and Patch X-Kits. It's good to have a corrupt cop on the payroll, indeed.
Indebted and Partner Traits
Those Contacts who get the Indebted or Partner Trait are now delivering on their promise of +1 Favor per 30 days. These are added with a new Timeline Log but otherwise quietly. In existing games, they will add on the next 30 day tick, and new games they'll just add from the start. Especially for the Doctor, this is a nice way to pile up some free good will and a nice reward for your investment in the clinic.
Clarity on Passive Talents
Passive Talents (and all Talents actually) were hiding their charge count when they had no more charges ready for use in the character pop-up mid-mission. We've now fixed that issue so that the charge count is always displayed and you can see also the number of turns to recharge. This can give you a lot more clarity about the coming and going of passive Talents.
If you have questions about Passive Talents, the best place to check is your character's pop-up in the middle of a mission. Click once on the portrait in the Initiative Timeline to focus the camera on them and the second time to open their status.
Loading Lock Up, Passive Talent Lock Up
Thanks to the awesome F10s coming in from the community, we've fixed two more issues that could cause mid-game freezes requiring a Turn restart.
The first could effect a number of Passive Talents like the Sniper's Fleeting. If the Talent activated (for Fleeting, you killed an Unaware target) but then failed in a secondary check of its more complex requirements (for Fleeting, you can't currently be standing in an enemy's sight cone) the game could lock up on this case. Very excited to have this fix deployed to the field as it undoubtably will help other Talents too.
The second could occur if a minor map change was made that might affect a character and they end up in a non-playable area. This is now always checked when reloading a mission and characters are moved to the nearest playable area.
Class Tree Cleaning Continues
Even with only 6 classes currently active in the game, the class trees are immense data structures. We've got an entire bucket of F10's dedicated to issues with them, but the list getting shorter and shorter and into small and smaller issues. With this update, we've:
Fixed redundancy in
Fixed Hacker's Null Op munging up the damage values
Fixed Sniper's Skullshot was stating a buff was going to an enemy when really it is yours
Fixed one node in Splatt-Patt that was giving multiple effects
v1.2.19 - 12/28/2023

Hello once again, I hope you all had a great Christmas, surrounded by people that you love!
Next week, on Friday, we'll be releasing the first half of Chapter 2 (15 levels), instead of the planned whole chapter (20 levels). This is because we've decided to fill the chapter with more puzzles that we developed during playtests, and to further flesh out the story. The gap from this first half of the chapter to the second will not be anywhere near as long as the gap between chapter 1 and 2, since we already have all the design elements ready to go.
The upside to this, is you'll get 10 more puzzles, and they'll be considerably more difficult than everything faced so far. If you want to get to the bottom of the apparent self-immolation of the world, you'll need guts and brains.
Our final code update for this chapter will be released alongside the chapter content, since our build scripts have already been updated to include COLLAPSE, and we don't want to leak anything early.
Once again, Merry Christmas, and have a fantastic new year!
I hope everybody had a wonderful holiday and is getting ready for a great new year! We are in the final hours of the Kickstarter now and I want to focus on sharing what it means to me that so many people have already supported this project. If you haven't checked it out, please consider backing at the link below! If we reach the next stretch goal (we are so close), Grant Kirkhope will be writing more music for the game!
Some of my earliest memories with games were when my cousin and I were traveling with our families. We checked in to a hotel and the TV had a Super Nintendo with F-Zero on it! I remember absolutely nothing else about that trip, but I remember staying up late with my cousin taking turns playing that exhilarating, mesmerizing, colorful game. I was absolutely terrible at it, but that did not stop me from absolutely loving it.
Fast forward to now, and I find myself making Star Racer. The inspiration is clear on its face. It tries to evoke nostalgic feelings using pixel art and 16-bit music. But for me, the thing I try to come back to, beyond any of the presentation, is whether it makes me feel even one iota of the pure fun and joy I had playing so many years ago. It is so hard to create something and allow yourself to really feel it without bias. But I do think that Star Racer reaches that threshold I need to feel good about the direction of the game.
I also look at other indicators. I've read every comment, looked at how many backers we have, how many wishlists we've gotten, spoken with people in the Discord, and I suspect that I've been able to connect to that sense of joy in some of you as well.
So now at the end of this Kickstarter, I just want to say a big THANK YOU SO MUCH! You all have helped make it possible for me to execute on this vision I have to spark joy in people when they play this game.
I am so excited to take this game beyond the Kickstarter and finish it. There is still work to be done, but I am confident we will get there so much faster because of your help!
