It's Christmas Eve, and I've again been really busy this week. However, I have the rest of the week off so expect some good things coming soon.
I was working in the overworld a bit so naturally I discovered some bugs. The first was from how the targeting system searches for mobs to shoot; it included clues (which are technically mobs) and it didn't like that one bit. The second was very closely related. I had copied some obsolete code which determined which mobs were eligible to shoot in lairs into the overworld. This meant that the targeting system couldn't find any mobs. But now it all should be fixed.
I also noticed a targeting bug due to the new mob rendering functionality in lairs, which was a quick fix.
I started some modification to nest quests. Now, they generate loot. Interestingly enough, this is the first time there's been a pickup in the overworld, which had its own set of problems. The bogeymen have in their possession some sort of clothing.
I also worked on revamping nest quests a little to make them harder. Now, you have to clear two to three nests in order to rightfully claim the reward. The nests will all be of the same type, think of it as a monster infestation. It's an infestation! Admittedly it's pretty difficult to kite between nests. I might change enemy pursuit logic sometime in the future.

The year 2023 is coming to an end, and although it's only been 3 months since the launch of early access, we've been working hard to fix a lot of issues and release new content.
We've prepared a new update roadmap for 2024 ! Compared to the previous edition, we'll be focusing more on updating in major content. Of course the updates that were not fully covered in the previous version will be interspersed with minor update in the future!

Greetings everyone, and welcome to the latest edition of "The Front" dev log! Today, our focus will be on the expansion of follower talents, which will be introduced in the upcoming version to significantly enrich the roles of followers.
How to View follower Talents
First, you need to tame the NPC. When an NPC is knocked unconscious, you can see the number of talents it possesses. However, you won't be able to see the talent names, qualities, and effects until the NPC is tamed.
Note: Followers you tamed before the update will not have new talents. Follower level restricts talent unlocking, and talents that are not unlocked won't take effect. In this case, you also won't be able to see the bonus effects.
Functions of follower Talents
The differences in follower talents are reflected in their respective talent effects, covering aspects such as gathering, construction, equipment, light weapons, heavy weapons, alchemy, vehicles, and more.
For example, the "Gathering Modification" talent helps improve the gathering multiplier of gathering tools, the "Durability Enhancement" talent boosts the durability of building items, and the "Barrel Improvement" talent can increase the range of light weapons.
6 Grades of follower Talents
White, Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, Red.
These directly impact the attribute bonuses for talent effects. For the same talent, higher grades provide higher attribute bonuses.
Number of follower Talents
Followers can have up to 5 talents, but it's possible for them to have none.
The probability of each talent appearing varies. Generally, higher-level and rarer NPCs are more likely to have talents with better bonus effects.
We will keep updating the follower’s related gameplay and maintain a balance between all the functions as well.
