Hey everyone,

It's almost Christmas and most of our team is now on their well deserved vacation. This will be the last dev-update of 2023.
The year has been really wild, lots of progress and hardships but overall we are quite satisfied with where we are. One of the first things we want to do for you next year is share a recap of all the key things that happened this year, the challenges and successes and also the set-backs as well as the goals we have for 2024 so you have a clear idea of what you can expect in the coming year.
Our project is now moving ever closer to the finish line and we are very excited with each successful step we make. We are very thankful for all the amazing support you have shown us so far and hope to be able to count with you until the end, without you there would be no us.
We wish all of you a great time, happy holidays and a happy new year.
With that said, we will close up with a few more WIPs of upcoming outfits.

In the restructured Iron Age, more buildings become available once you create iron. This adjustment is due to the fact that the Metal Mechanism now necessitates iron rather than steel. However, the Metal Sheet now demands steel instead of iron.

Introducing the New Steel Mining Machine: Dig Faster and Reach 9 Fields Below

A cutting-edge addition to the era is the new Steel Mining Machine, designed to excavate at an accelerated pace. This advanced device can dig down to a depth of 9 fields, providing enhanced efficiency in resource extraction.

Enhanced Iron Storage: Double the Capacity of Wooden Storage

Upgrade your storage capabilities with the introduction of the new Iron Storage facility. This innovative structure doubles the capacity of the conventional wooden storage, ensuring you can amass greater quantities of resources during the Iron Age.

Revamped Toxic Mechanism: Controlled Spread and Water Stream Cleanup

Our toxic mechanism has undergone a significant overhaul. The toxic substance no longer spreads endlessly throughout the level; instead, it can be efficiently cleansed by the water stream. We consider this update to be near its final form as a mechanic.

Minor Tutorial Enhancements

In addition to the major changes, we've implemented some minor updates to enhance the tutorial experience.

This release includes several minor fixes to improve overall stability and address minor issues.

Dissent on Mars - michael
As we get deeper into the holiday season, I think it’s a good time to tackle a subject that’s on everyone’s mind. We love it, we hate it, we chase it… yup, you guessed it: money! Let’s dive into how it works in Dissent on Mars.

The first thing you should know is that Martians don’t use the same currency as Earthlings, so don’t expect to see any dollars, pounds, or euros. Instead, they use a new currency called credits. Here’s what the symbol looks like:



To keep track of their credits, each colonist has an income card. These are used to make purchases and will record how money was spent or received, which may be useful if you want to see how someone amassed their wealth.

Accumulable and Transferable
Just like allocation systems and property rights, you can change the rules for how money works while designing your society. You’ll need to decide if money is accumulable and transferable.

If you decide it shouldn’t be accumulable, everyone’s income card will be cleared after a length of time.

If you decide it shouldn’t be transferable, money will only be usable by the first person who receives it, and it will only be accepted to buy new products.

If your colony uses a market, money must be accumulable and transferable since that’s the only way a market can work.

Conclusion
Now that you know how money works, we need to talk about the different ways people can receive it. This will be my first post in 2024!
