We hope you've enjoyed the first AirportSim DLC, Rovaniemi Airport, with its beautiful scenery in the heart of Lapland, because we've prepared a contest that takes place on its tarmac!
Where usually this is the time to spread Christmas cheer, we want to have some fun with the Grinches out there. So, start and wreak some havoc in this usually jolly season under the theme “Christmas Gone Wrong.”
The only limit of today's contest are the borders of the Rovaniemi Airport.
We are eagerly waiting for your screenshots on Discord and Instagram until the 29nd of December.
After the 29nd of December we will choose three screenshots from each channel and the voting for the Grinchiest Grinch starts! You will have two days to vote for your favorite “Christmas Gone Wrong” screenshot!
We've got a pretty good prize for you - a special and limited edition of the AirportSim Game on the CD!
To make it clear, here are the exact rules:

Knock-knock, seekers! This year is swiftly drawing to an end, and we are striving to keep up. This is almost the final note of the year for our diaries. After that there will be even more varied and interesting news for you. Shall we begin?
New cards to the rescue
A fresh shipment from the KOTCL card workshop arrived just in time for this diary release. We're excited to show it to you, especially since there are novelties for Vanadis and her pets’ deck.
All Around Me Are Familiar Faces
The new vendors are already actively running their businesses, disregarding the dangers of the KOTCL world. However, they’ve complained that their individual portraits do not match reality, which negatively affects their customers’ trust. They don’t look very good either, let's be honest. Well, we agree and we're making amends! Now, when purchasing items from vendors, heroes will see who they are actually dealing with.
Efficiently Effective Effects
We're making progress in visually enriching the gameplay and making it clearer. This week, we've been working on a special effect that shows the curse leaving the hand and simultaneously damaging all enemies. We've picked the shape, but we can't settle on the color. We're torn between the two options below. What do you think? We're looking forward to your opinions in the comments.
The Art of Skedaddling Just in Time
Getting back to our animation “operating room”, some adversaries are not willing to bravely face their fate on the battlefield so they have decided to flee without looking back. We already have just the right animation for such cases. But thanks to transitioning to Spine, we have made their escape livelier and added a bit of individuality to each deserter.
From a Sketch to the Result in a Matter of Seconds
Our artists have delved headfirst into the ominous demonic theme. We're eager to share the process of creating art for the Mother of Imps and her... um, children? It turned out great. Just take a look at those little, amusing demon-babies :) (Although they don't seem quite so amusing in battle.
Under Millenis’s Spell
Many of you long ago realized that Millenis is truly powerful and truly insidious. As for us, we’ve once again fallen into the trap of her strong magic. Our eyes were recently delighted with these new cosplay photos, and we just can't help but share them with you. She truly cast a spell over us and our players!
How About Some Chit-Chat?
Andrew from RedBoon here again.
Curiouser and curiouser! That’s how I'd describe these last days of the year. It's all because we're preparing hard for next week’s update. Yes, we plan to release a major patch live that will fundamentally change the game. But no spoilers yet, although you probably already know a lot, especially if you follow our diaries. For now, we need to make final adjustments and fix the remaining bugs. Stay tuned and expect news next week.
Everyone is wrapping up the outgoing year now, and I've decided not to stand out from the bunch. I've gathered some interesting statistics for you. Who doesn't like numbers, right? Everyone loves numbers!

We've crossed 10,000 Talented players on Steam just in time for the Holiday Season! It's the perfect time to get nostalgia for the good old days when the Talent Tree looked like this:
Oh.. How far we've come. However, one thing was lost to time... Do you see those... Golden...
Legendary Talents
They're back and better than ever! They cost 5 Talent Points and we know at that price we need to get them right, so we had two goals for Legendaries:
Legendaries should be simple but very powerful.
Legendaries should never feel like a waste of Talent Points (even if they're not perfect for your build)
Here's a few examples that we feel really embody this:
This one is for Wizard. If you have a lot of Knowledge Talents that Activate from leveling up, this is a complete game breaker - but nobody will be sad to get a handful of free Talent Points each Night.
A new Summoner rule-bender. Completely insane with Gravestone Builds, but still offers a decent amount of defensive power even if you don't have a single Talent that cares about your Graveyard.
This is also a great opportunity to re-brand some Talents that we love but have had to be nerfed in an awkward way to fit into the power level of an epic.
Replacing Twin Strike, Coral Quiver can be what we always wanted - a true double shot.
Ah... the old Echomancy, back to its reliable self. (I'm sure no overpowered synergies will crop up from this)
Don't fear! Any class that has an Epic upgraded to a Legendary will be getting a brand new Epic to replace it.
Each class will have 4 Legendary Talents, with more coming in the future. You'll need to keep an eye out though - only 1-2 Legendaries will be appearing on the tree per run.
You Were Truly Talented
We have some changes to the Combo Meter coming in the next update.
Ever since the Game Pacing changes in 0.9 we've felt like it was too easy to achieve a Talented and Truly Talented combo, and it felt especially strange that there was no Combo Level increase at 500 and 1000 kills.
So we've fixed that by adding two brand new combo levels! Here's what the combo meter will look like in 0.11:
[Skilled] (+10% XP) - 20 Kills
[Gifted] (+25% XP) - 50 Kills
[Brilliant] (+50% XP) - 100 Kills
[Masterful] (+85% XP) - 250 Kills
[Talented] (+125% XP) - 500 Kills
[Truly Talented] (+200% XP) - 1000 Kills
Keen eyed players will notice a few changes to bonus experience rewards and kill requirements too, we've made sure there is a clear increase in power from each combo level and we've made the elusive [One Shot] Achievement a little less frustrating to collect.
That's all for this time! We're getting close to hitting our content goals for this update but there's still some exciting things to announce.
Next time I will talk about some of the new Achievements coming in 0.11, some Quality of Life features and maybe even begin to discuss balance! For now...
