In the vastness of space, four captains named Taromir, Sakuya, Torac, and the intriguingly named --__--, embarked on a journey through unexplored Subspace regions. During their voyage, they encountered a Subportal emitting an unusual signal.

Curious, the captains decided to investigate. Maintaining a safe distance, they maneuvered their ships for a closer examination. Taromir, the most experienced, suggested a coordinated scan of the portal. Sakuya, always cautious, recommended a careful approach. Torac, eager for action, disagreed, advocating for a more direct exploration. --__--, known for his quiet demeanor, observed silently and maneuvered his ship, resembling a long snake, into position.

While they debated, Taromir's analytical mind was busy decoding the portal's emissions. Meanwhile, Torac’s ship interface unexpectedly interacted with the portal, causing it to light up with a radiant glow.

This action led to an immediate and unexpected consequence: a bizarre signal began to resonate throughout Subspace, unlike anything they had encountered before. Taromir, analyzing the new data, warned of potential unknown effects. Realizing the potential dangers and wishing to keep their discovery under wraps, --__-- issued a fleet emergency jump.

What they didn't realize was that their actions had initiated a series of events that would soon unfold in unexpected ways.

The STU Discovery team has made 15% progress in researching the mysterious item. They anticipate needing a few more days and the assistance of all captains to gather sufficient information to fully uncover its secrets.

Over the past few days, the research team of the STU Discovery and the captains have been working tirelessly to advance their progress. As of today, they have made significant discoveries and estimate an achieved percentage of 81.25%. The team is optimistic about resolving the mystery surrounding the mysterious items in just 36 hours.

Song Of The Prairie - partner
Hello Villagers!

In December 27, 2023 (GMT), Song of the Prairie 0.7 will arrive! We’re so glad to share the news and that would be another solid step towards the full version.

Discount ends in January 4, 2024 (GMT)




We are still following the previous pace, which is, the main focus of development will be keeping the stability of game in the first month after the update. Then push forward to develop new versions. And new updates will be released after the development and testing. This will be the pattern until the game could be run as full version.

New content will be seen after every update, and most of the problems or bugs will be fixed. We’ll keep following some remaining glitches also. As for the feedback from different personal experience, we will do the analyse discussion then make the decision to optimize them or not. Because from the previous experience, the changes we made for some players would gain complains of the others.

But of course, valuing advise form everybody is our motto. Make a contact with us if you have any thoughts. We will take care of it. As you can see, the Performance Optimization you’ve been mentioned for a long time has improved in 0.7!

[Changes and New Content]


Performance Optimization

This part is too important to ignore. Although we did some emergency adjustments at the beginning of release, but it was far from our expectation. Because of many reasons during the development, we had to delay the large scale optimization to 0.7 rather than the last one. Sincere apology for this. About the optimization, we started in “Rendering Pipeline” and “Model Resources”.

Transplant Rendering Pipeline
We decided to transplant “Rendering Pipeline” to lower the requirement of hardware, to increase the calculating efficiency and to customize rendering performance more flexibly.

We ever used “Builtin Renderpipeline” which has lower efficiency than “Universal Renderpipeline”

More than just improving efficiency, “Universal Renderpipeline” could also allow us to customize rendering. Which means the unnecessary calculation of resources caused by the previous non-costumed rendering pipeline can be avoid. For example, some unnecessary content would be rendered in game, which will suppress the efficiency and increase the requirement of hardware. But now under the help of brand new rendering pipeline, our team could take advantage of it to optimize the certain features. Such as, customizing grassland rendering system, weather system, skin textures and unique renderer, etc.


Batch processing of the Bind and Draw commands can reduce GPU setup between draw calls.

This work contains two parts, transplantation and optimization. Changing the pipeline means the previous rendered content will be discarded. Our team will re-render all the scenes, buildings and characters models. It’s a massive work. But we have finished part of it, it was exciting! And the rest parts are in progress.

Models Resources Optimization
More than just pipeline, model resources such as textures have been remade also.

This kind of optimization is also to improve the performance. Present graphic and texture procession could save more resources than the previous. For example, redistributing UV for some models could guarantee more details and higher clarity even with minimum textures. At the same time, we believe the probability of crash and lagging after the long-term gameplay can be improved.

We planed to remake all the textures for buildings originally, but obviously it’s a large process. Also the renovation may involve in model changes. So we adjusted our plan. Model resources will be optimized by plan, but in different batches. In 0.7 the main part of the optimizations are Residents Buildings and some decors(fences/street lamps/market stalls/road signs), etc.




We are trying our best to stuff more content in game all the time. So, there isn’t only optimization but also new content.


New Area: Second Homeland

In upcoming 0.7, a new area will be revealed in Song of the Prairie, Second Homeland.

Years ago, bunch of people escaped from the persecution of Demon King to the Goddess blessed land which is Prairie Town. But the surge of population caused much trouble for the management. A new area have been expanded at the outskirt of town named “Second Homeland”. However, when the world restored in peace, refugees were back to their motherland and the incomplete “Second Homeland” was abandoned.

Now, Prairie Town thrives again, it’s time to renovate this new area! About the gameplay, Second Homeland mainly brings you a new area and expands helpers function. Players could build houses for helpers, decorate Second Homeland, arrange helpers to become assistants of stores in town and join some new activities, etc. Here are the important parts of Second Homeland, Police Outpost, Construction Zone, Theme Stalls, Decorations and Activity Plaza. Those are not all but the most important components of the following game content expansion.

Don’t forget to open the path to Second Homeland by completing the quest in Autumn!



Prosperity System
Prosperity system will be open when you start a new game. Players could check the Prosperity Reports anytime to know the status of Prairie Town. It includes Buildings Score, Villagers Score, Trade Score, Helpers Score and Environment Score and these will decide your Final Score. The standard is S>A>B>C>D>E. The higher score is the higher weekly payment you will receive.



Outpost
An important management center. Where do helpers live and what their work are can be arranged here. Also, upgrading the Outpost could increase the maximal recruit positions of helpers.



Allow me to remind you, we upgraded the despatch system of stores. In previous version, players could only send out storekeepers to work. But now you could arrange helpers to assist stores or despatch these assistants do your commissions too. Now, the Creative Workshop, Abby’s Cabin, Death Mine, House of Mermaid, Blacksmith and Fashion Store may be shorthanded. Not only could you do the arrangement by Second Homeland, but Order Board in front of stores could also do the trick, no conflicts between them. And the arrangement depends on your the last operation.



A new index of helpers “Comfort Level” will be unlocked after the Police Outpost was built. The higher comfort level the more prosperous Second Homeland will be! High prosperity allows you to upgrade buildings, higher level of buildings could increase the prosperity and the prosperity will influence the income of Second Homeland.



Construction Zone
An important part of Second Homeland. There are lots of room to build for helpers or for other functions. You can choose the building type and order freely, building upgradation is also supported and the highest level is Lv.3. Building helpers’ houses is also achieved in 0.7.

But that’s not all of our imagination of construction Zone. More types of buildings, more different facades, more colors, they are the expectations! Of course these will be put in our roadmap.



Scene Decorations
Added a new function to decoration the Second Homeland which is same as it was in farm area. Just put the acquired or crafted decors in most area of Second Homeland and make it looks like you want. We could imagine that moment you creative guys are going to show your talents.



Theme Stalls
One of the components of Second Homeland. Theme Stalls can be set around the Activity Plaza. You could choose and set the what kinds of theme stalls are, then open for business. You could sell Sugarcoat Fruits, Juices and Flowers. But some of them should be unlocked from quests.



Activity Plaza
Located in the center of Second Homeland. It’s main function is to hold all kinds of activities. But something are under preparing, so let’s skip the introduction.



New Stories: Main Quests and Side Quests
More than just new area, there will be new main stories and side quests.

Main Stories
The main stories in Song of the Prairie don’t go linearly or multi-linearly, for the better and more flexible experience, we choose to tell the story like episodes. We want to give you the right to continue the story or not. Ideally, even you don’t want to involve in the stories, the experience will not be spoiled. So in the upcoming 0.7, the performance of main stories will still show as episodes.

The whole stories of second year is coming. There are four parts in main stories and each season has a unique individual story. What’s gonna happen in these stories? Let’s found out in the game.

Side Quests
Important side quests in second year are added in 0.7, more than 20. But that’s not all, more quests will be added and optimized in the future. We are so glade that we could continue to perfect the story line.



New Characters and Inner Spaces

New Character, Sheriff

New person arrived the town, “Herman the Sheriff”. For some reasons, there is only acquaintance event and some stories about Second Homeland for him. As for the Inner Space or more events, will be completed in the future. We will not give up on every character.

Now we know little about Herman, nothing but he is a arrogant person and has connections with the new area. There will be interesting stories about this Herman I guess.



New Inner Spaces, Jin and Poline
Jin, a rich person who loves to enjoy new things. He will guide us to the new area. And we could learn more about his Inner Space. Moreover, we finally could date with him.

Poline, a special girl. Though she’s not good at architecture like her brother, but she’s gifted. Except crafts all kinds of furniture, she has a unnoticeable interest. I believe you guys have noticed that already. In 0.7, we will enter Poline’s Inner Space to know her true thoughts. And there will be two outfits for her in Inner Space, default one and special one. No doubt, player could acquire the special one.

Right! We added new outfit for fisherman in Inner Space too.




Changes of Characters

Residents in town also have changes in 0.7

Features Improvements
For the vividness of NPCs and the logical gameplay, we improved NPCs’ feature system. First we completed some unfinished features in last version, then, we modified 13 features and adjusted some triggers of them.

NPC outfit system changes
This system comes with great changes. In 0.7 you will witness a more convenient and more logical operation. A new outfit changing button when interacting with NPC allows you to enter a menu to choose the corresponding parts to change their equipment.

By the way, now every part of an NPC could equip two different outfits or accessories but will not display these two simultaneously. Just switch the visibility in the menu.

One of them should be default outfit and no one could take that off. The other will be gift from players and tagged with “gifted outfit” in the menu. Every part of NPC could only equip one “gifted” outfit and accessory. Only the last gifted outfit will be kept on NPC which means the previous one will gone. But don’t be sad, NPCs will keep what you have done for them in hearts forever!

In special situations, such as Blacksmith will change her clothes during the festival, will not be taken in the consideration. Their clothes cannot be changed under that circumstance.



New Functions of Buildings and Characters
Devs still expanded some content according to the feedback to make sure the experience can be smoother and more reasonable. Some buildings and characters will be endowed more functions. And some of their performance will be improved also.

Don’t Worry About the Lost of Quests Props
Many players have ever faced a situation that props for quests have been lost or handed out by accident. Now, the priest will offer a service to sell props! Recycle and purchase of props will be unlocked when you acquired them. So next time, if you lost that prop, get another one from priest!



Working Station Upgrades
By the pushing of you guys, devs now upgrade the working station. Now you can store seeds in it. And helpers could use seeds in working station to plant under the training of our hardworking programmers!



Improved Animal Pen
Animal pen in new version will no longer afraid of destroying anymore.Even a little scratch will be restored as the original in the next day. And I assure you even the best carpenter cannot tell the difference.

Bulletin Board Changes
Commissions on board have improvements too. Cookery Commissions will be added in 0.7. Besides, for the consideration of experience, refresh pattern is optimized. From now on, every kind of commissions will be refreshed at least once a month to avoid the long-term absence of some of them.



New Guild Commissions
Maybe playing mini games in Garden Fair to win coupons day by day has already bothered you. Is there any better way to win those coupons? Now the answer is : YES!

We’ve added new despatch function in Guild. You could arrange helpers to work in guild. Their job is to play mini games and bring back coupons to exchange for all kinds of decors to you.



New Trees
Not much Fruits & Vegetable will be added. Only one, Starfruit Tree in Winter.

But, we bring you some special plants, or, some new types of plants for more specifically speaking. We call them Ornamental trees. Their are shorter than the material trees but higher that the improved trees. More than just for decoration, they could also produce flowers and bear fruits. These are newly added trees: Kapok Tree, Locust Tree, Ginkgo Tree and Plum Tree.




New Festivals
Who would refuse happy festivals! So how about two more funny festivals in new version?

Summer: Water Balloon Festival
This festival will be held in Second Homeland at a certain day in summer. Unlike the water balloon game in the water park, this experience will be exceptional to you all. And you will get a special prop “water balloon” after the activities.



Winter: Snowman Festival
Falling snow is usual in winter, but it would be such a waste if you can’t build a snowman. In 0.7, we will hold a festival for you in winter to wipe out the pity. In this day, you and residents will take part in the activity to build snowmen and decorate them with beautiful stuffs. These snowmen will accompany you to go through the cold winter. And they will be decorated by colorful tape lights if you finished the specific number of snowmen.

After the Festival, you will acquire a base for snowman as a decor. Finding snowdrift in your farm and pile it into a snowball, then push this ball onto the base, that’s how to build a snowman.



New Outfits
We will add new outfits more or less in every update and we will do this constantly.
This time we added 3 head wears, 10 haircuts.

New Buffs
The game had buff system in 0.6, but the number and types are so poor. In following 0.7, we added dozens of buffs and connected them with dishes to escalate their utilization and effects.

Buff or so called “Status” in game can be divided in four types: item status, exp status, ability status, special status. Most of them have three levels and the effects change with the level going up. For the balance of gameplay, we limited players could only acquire two buffs at most, the replacement between two buffs follows a rule, and here is the partial information.



That’s all for now
Happy times is so short. It’s a very important step to optimize game performance and it’s a stable cornerstone for the following updates. The optimization will never stop, although today’s hardware is powerful enough, but we still want the game could be run under more circumstances.

And it’s just a glimpse of new area, more stuff will be added in the future to make Second Homeland more perfect. It’s also an important part for completing Song of the Prairie. Other parts will be kept upgrading for all time, we ain’t stop here.
