LotRT is a game with a ton of intriguing stories, exciting adventures and incredible art to enjoy. We've already been dropping small teasers of what's to come before putting up the Steam page, so we figured we'd make a post here to show you what you missed so far!

There's quite a few knights you'll be able to recruit to the Round Table, we showcase them every now and then. Here's one of our favorites, Sir Gawain. You can read more about him in our 4th newsletter that dives deeper into some gameplay mechanics.


Some of LotRT's most unique aspects are the beautiful, hand-painted illuminated manuscript art and the music played on real, period-accurate instruments!

Our recent newsletter, Medieval Music for Videogames, written with the help of Anne Azema from the Boston Camerata, goes over the unique challenges of creating the OST for the game!

We also occasionally publish musical extracts directly from the game to give you a taste of the excellent songs and music you'll enjoy during your adventures.

When it comes to the art, the game's stunning visuals draw inspiration from illuminated manuscripts of the XIIIth century. Our artist has meticulously hand-drawn the environments, staying true to authentic medieval painting techniques, including the tools, dyes, and colors available during that period.

As with the Halloween update, we'd like to add some festive flair to JDM. We hope you enjoy these little treats.

From Thursday, the trees and streets of Japanese Drift Master will be covered in snow. As you go through the winding streets of the Japanese city, you'll come across snowmen and scattered presents (try driving into them to see what happens), and you might even find our Christmas Wish Truck! On the technical side, we're still working on the in-game tweaks, so you should notice an improvement. We won't give away all the details of the update today, so you'll have a bigger surprise on Thursday!


Today we say goodbye, but we'll be back on Thursday with another devlog, a new update, and the release of the JDM demo on GOG! Thank you for all the bugs and suggestions that have been reported. We're aware that some wheels and hardware still don't work quite right, but we'll do our best to make sure everyone is happy with the full version of the game! Jane’s been asked to shoot a TV program called “Cooking Strike” to show off her incredible cooking skills, and she needs to complete five levels in a row to make sure she’s ready!

While you complete the levels to get ready for the show, the TV crew will bring some more professional equipment.

If you fail a level, your progress will be reset and you’ll have to start from the beginning!
You can try as many times as you want. The TV show’s paying for the food, so you won’t be using yours up.

When you finish the fifth level you’ll receive a big reward that includes booster parts, Coins, Rubies, and blog points!



If you don’t complete all the levels before the event ends, don’t worry. You aren’t losing anything, and there’ll always be another TV program!
