We've got a small patch for you guys today. Here are the changes:

Features
  • Adjusted the wording of some tips to be more clear.
  • Elevator access cards now display as “Elevator Access Card” instead of using the floor ID.
  • Security cameras now have their view area projections disabled during combat to signify that they don’t do anything outside of stealth. The projection flickers back on after combat (and after the player is not inside the camera’s view) to give the player some time to move away before the camera becomes active and starts rotating again.
  • Scav now defaults to a random voice on first time startup
Fixes
  • Boss 1’s grab followup (the launcher) now properly deals knockback instead of getting you stuck in place.
  • Taser guards are now visible on KO screens.
  • Flashing enemies should no longer appear as the same color as the background (without shadow) on KO screens.
  • State-bound effects are now able to persist correctly between multiple states (in layman’s terms: guards’ invulnerability no longer wears off prematurely when getting up after being launched - this prevents some animation errors).
  • Effects of equipped gear are now always applied at the correct level when continuing a run.
  • Security cameras no longer continue playing their movement sound during combat and will now properly start playing movement sounds again after combat ends.
  • Fixed a problem where if Boss 1 used his grab to send Scav into their 2nd phase, the camera animation for the Scav 2nd phase cutscene would not play.
  • Fixed an issue where the game would not launch on Mac due to searching for the wrong version number (oops).

Hoops World - Snazzy Goldfish
Fixed various bugs:
  • Player can now use controller and keyboard/mouse simultaneously. A previous bug was preventing the keyboard/mouse from working when a controller was plugged in.
  • Fixed a few stretched textures.
  • Fixed loud audio in "City Courtyard" level. It should no longer rupture your eardrums.
  • Added physics material to various colliders.

Next update to-do list:
  • Better controller support (Controllers currently work but the mapping is awful)
  • Night version of large city

Note: Thank you all for your patience, and thank you for buying Hoops World! I have a couple new levels that are close to finished, and a lot of ideas I'd like to try.

If you agree to the above, right click on "Wizardry: The Five Ordeals" in the Steam library, select properties, and enter the password "IReadAnnounce" in the beta tab. The "publicbeta" version can be selected. This will automatically update the system, and you can also return to the current normal version by selecting no beta from the Beta tab. However, we will not be able to provide support for data corruption caused by version inconsistencies due to the use of this switch.

- Added an indicator for the inventory full for each character in the HDUIs post-battle results.
- The enchantments of "silence resistance" has been increased from increased resistance to prevention.
- Save when an item is obtained as part of an event after a battle, or when some scenario flag is turned on.

- The signboard of the castle in Labyrinth 9 in each scenarios was not being processed correctly.
- The silence effect of the prysmic spells was not correctly handled as resistant.
- Color filters were being applied to indeterminate graphics in the HDUI's Monster Book.
- Improved exception handling when an item that cannot be equipped in a user scenario is given as initial equipment.

A Fool's Art Gallery - reflectionfrequency
Yesterday I accidentally figured out how to make a rotating light finally, as the GZDOOM engine just does not do that, at all. It's in the Light House Scene and really adds to the atmosphere, so I wanted to make sure it was in the demo as well for anyone who found the Light House and likes staring at it.

The main game will be patched in the next release with it, I might do a very small update just for that though as what is being added right now is kind of getting out of hand, as it does; so is going to take more than "a couple days" like had been figured, as it also does.

Here is an already out of date screen shot of what's coming up. None of this was ever planned for A Fool's Art Gallery; but after release it became obvious I could put ideas into this title that don't fit into my other project that is still very early in development. And given A Fool's Art Gallery is a not violent/stressful game it makes sense to add these weird ideas as sort of "Virtual reality paintings"; like I am using the GZDOOM engine itself to make a 3d environment and characters from my paintings and in the style of. If that makes any sense.

So from that there will be A Fool's Art Gallery, a non-violent and relaxing game of culture; and my other game; a hyper violent blood bath.

-Adjusted the rotation hint on alternative resolutions
-Added a sound for slow drop
-Fixed an issue with text outlines being the wrong color in some cases
-The game now defaults to confining the cursor to the game window, this can be disabled in the gameplay settings if you don't like this
-Testing adding additional localizations, with chinese to start however I've only quality controlled some of it so far so there are likely errors. More to come soon
-Mode select panel is bigger again in preparation for the future
