Hello everyone!

This patch includes a new Free Solo Mode, as well as a few new accompanying achievements and bugfixes.



New Mode : Free Solo
Test your sanity as your try to conquer all peaks without using ropes, chalk, coffee or smoking pipe in Free Solo.
Below is a list of what this mode entails.
  • Available after unlocking the true ending (Summit all peaks in normal mode).
  • Ropes, chalk, coffee and pipe are disabled.
  • Crampons and Ice Axes are unlocked as you progress like normally.
  • If you fall, you die. (Permadeath)
  • An icon next the YFYD icon is added to indicate being in Free Solo Mode.
  • Unlock new elusive achievements for summitting Fundamentals, Advanced, and Expert categories, as well as summiting all peaks in this mode.
This mode is affected by permadeath, which means there are noteworthy changes and updates listed below.
Changes and Updates to You Fall You Die
  • Harness is no longer available in YFYD.
  • Restart Map (menu and hotkey) is now no longer available in YFYD. The In Game Menu won't be accessible while falling either. This is the same for Free Solo Mode.
  • Rope collected from NPC encounters will now be available without having to talk to them first (Rope-giving NPC encounters have been disabled). These ropes will be located around where the ropes were given usually.
  • You can now die if you fall too far while still attached to a rope.
  • Added a skull icon to the top right corner of the screen to indicate being in YFYD mode.
Bugfixes
  • Fixed some collision issues on Great Crevice.
  • Fixed issues with inconsistency of the dithering intensity.
  • Fixed an issue with boulders knocking you down while in paused / in the In Game Menu. (Note, you cannot cheese boulders by pausing quickly before getting hit).
  • Fixed a bug with the return to cabin backpack interactable not saving properly.
  • Added a hold on Hangman's Leap and Great Gaol so both are more balanced when free-soloing.

Starveil - Vildravn
We are excited and a little bit nervous to announce that the Starveil Playtest is now underway with the first handful of players being granted access to the game!

As time goes on and as we test and adjust our server capacities, we will be expanding the playtest to more players, so if you did not get access in the first wave, your time is yet to come. And if you have not signed up yet, you can still do so our our Steam page!

If you run into bugs and issues or have some feedback for us, you can either share it though a form in the game's Esc menu when you log in, or just come visit our Discord server and share and chat there.

Hello everyone, we have some great news!





A Shadow Cast On Water is finally available, and we're ending Early Access.

You'll be able to experience the full story on day 4 in the full version.

We apologize for being about a month behind schedule.

We're still finding a lot of bugs, but we'll be working on them slowly.

Maid Cafe - Envy
Today we have posted another quality of life update to the game, this fixes more grammatical issues, mostly to do with very minor mistakes with punctuation and some spaces in strange places, such as the start of sentences and double spaces before question marks and similar things which might briefly annoy but not really disrupt gameplay.

We have also resolved the Crossed box issue that has been occurring in dialogue since we upgraded the games base engine edition to ensure steam deck would work. This more odd grammatical issue should also now be resolved in this update.

Finally some more minor adjustments to dialogue and script occurred at various points to avoid confusion and make dialogue flow more naturally.

Thank you to all the players who have been posting errors on our discord server. Thanks to you it makes it much easier for us to find and resolve these final issues in the game.

This update focuses on making the game more challenging and less linear
Enemies are more of a threat, and items have a much more significant impact
Also, now when you level up, you can actually feel an increase in power

Enemy generation:
  • Complete reworked enemy spawning: many more enemies will spawn, and the generation is much less linear while still being fair
  • More enemies will spawn when returning from the shop, and they can be any enemy now, not just the basic zombie
  • Rare enemies are now more rare
Survivors:
  • Survivors will now follow you if you get close to them; when night comes, they will automatically go to the platform
  • Survivors can no longer spawn too early in the day or too late
  • Survivors no longer spawn on day 10, now, they spawn from day 1-9
  • One more survivor will spawn in every game, increasing from 5 to 6
  • The survivor help message now cannot go out of the camera, so you know when a survivor has appeared
Leveling up:
  • Leveling up no longer gives crit chance or luck, now, it gives attack speed and reload speed every 5 levels
  • Made leveling up easier, but combos give less XP
  • Made leveling up more satisfying
General:
  • Bullets will now pierce an enemy if it has 0 hp. For example, if you shoot an enemy with a shotgun, only the bullets that kill the enemy will be destroyed; the others will keep going and hit other enemies
  • Damage numbers now only show one decimal
  • Increased zombie delivery hp, now it can survive one sniper shot
Weapons:
  • Reworked Dual Weapon Handling: If you have two secondary weapons, they will fire in coordination instead of simultaneously
  • Balanced crossbows and slingshots to shoot more slowly the more bullets they fire
  • Reduced sniper rifle attack speed
Items:
  • Reworked many items to be more impactful
  • Now, all food items give hp or heal
  • Reduced the chance of medical items to spawn
  • Made red items rarer
Bug fixes:
  • Fixed survivors having the same depth on the platform
  • Fixed the level-up message not being centered
  • Fixed diary item not giving luck
