WHY IS THE DOWNLOAD SIZE BIGGER?
Another Episode, MyGF's paid DLC, will be available as add-on DLC here on Steam, unlike on itch.io, where it’s a standalone game. This was a long, painful process, held together by prayers and re-doing old code. To make this less painless, some of the AE art assets are be in the base game, which is why the download is bigger.
To keep it short, the game will recognize if the DLC ‘patch’ file has been purchased, and unlock the new content from the ‘extras’ menu, where Another Episode can be played straight from the base .exe.
I don’t know when AE will be out here; I’m currently rewriting most of it to reflect the quality I wish it to have as a paid product. This means I’ll also have to redo the Portuguese translation from scratch, which means even more work.
I don’t want to rush the process. AE will be on Steam in its best possible state, bug-free.

Hey Everyone! It's been a while, and we are bringing the first public beta update today. It contains a few more things than we told such as sandbox mode and the new Slovakia map version. So if you are interested in what changed in detail I will describe it later but first, let me guide you on how to activate BETA on Steam. Remember to join our Discord: https://discord.gg/5AnMchrWYZ
Caution: Beta can be unstable, there can be bugs that are not present on the normal version :)
Right-click on the game from the library page and select "Properties".
Click on the "BETAS" tab.
Select from the dropdown list “public beta”
Press OK.
Important: As this is Save System beta, we needed to make sure that YOU won't lose your progress. So FIRST time you launch BETA, you will see an admin prompt from Windows, as we are doing a backup from your registry. It is done with a simple .bat file script, you can check what this script contains > HERE <.
NEW SAVE SYSTEM
So it is here finally, the proper Steam Cloud support and syncing all your saves between different machines. It was done from scratches, saves that were saved in the Windows registry have been fully moved to AppData by re-working the whole system how data is stored and saved from the game.
As such things are fragile, especially for games that already exist and players have huge amounts of progress and records it was a really important matter to keep all your progress untouched and during the conversion - BACKUP up all your registry saves, so you are fully secured. So right now on BETA, we implemented a special checking if there is a saves conflict + special script that backup your current saves from normal game build (you can check the script > HERE <).
Important: Progress made on BETA doesn't transfer to the NORMAL account.
New Audio System
So, the old audio system was messed up a lot and while doing this we found out that many sounds that were implemented in the game didn't even "play" in the game. It's not perfect right now but the current system allows us to implement a lot of sound options and configurations with channels, 3D audio/spatial, etc. We will improve this system but from main things that you should notice are: new reeling sound, new casting sound, new lodge sounds, and some new environment sounds.
In the future, we want to also change all environment sounds to fit the proper theme and unique fauna on each map but that's something we will address in the later stage.
SANDBOX MODE
It is finally here. Everything is unlocked, all equipment, all maps, and no level limitations. But you need to remember: sandbox is based on the "normal" mode. In the future we plan to add more options to the sandbox to allow you to change the bait ratios, fight lengths, stamina boosts, etc. - so you can adjust the game to your style of gameplay.
Also, on Sandbox tournaments are disabled.
SLOVAKIA 2.0
You will probably ask WHY? And the answer is: FLY FISHING. As the development is moving forward we are slowly preparing to do fly fishing mechanics and we need maps that will allow you to enjoy it to its full potential. Slovakia was supposed to be a mountain river with a proper river current (that is still in the works). So the map was I would say re-done in 90%. The old map is still there, but you can check how it changed by just looking at the minimap:
Yes, you are correct - 1,2,3 fast travel points are the old map ;) So let me show you some screenshots.
Beta Version | 0.23.12.08:2476
New Audio System (ex. new reel sound, new throw sounds, etc.)
New Save Systems (fully stored in cloud & appdata)
New game mode: Sandbox
Changed map: Slovakia 2.0
Other things
We are reading your feedback and questions, so answering a few of them:
Q: Will there be a Christmas Event? A: Yes, it will be the same as The 2022 Christmas Event
Q: When will we see a new fish system? A: We are working on it, it is a huge task. Once it is done and working properly, we will publish it on BETA.
Q: Where is Alaska? A: Alaska is the biggest map that was made for UFS2. It will contain lakes, rivers, and frozen lakes. This map is supposed to support Fly Fishing and Ice Fishing. We would like to release it earlier but in our opinion, it needs to wait for Ice Fishing mechanics as if we publish it you wouldn't be able to fish on ~30% of map areas.
Q: Will there be another map after Alaska? A: Yes, we already started working on it. I will focus on Sea & Coast fishing, based in the USA.
Q: When multiplayer? A: Once all basic mechanics in the game are fixed we will start working on the multiplayer.
Q: Is there an official Discord for the Ultimate Fishing Simulator? A: We just created one, as earlier it was based on Ultimate Games Discord. Feel free to join: https://discord.gg/5AnMchrWYZ
So, that's it :) Please remember - the more feedback you give to us, the more effective is our work as we know what are you expecting and how to find specific issues!
Code Refactoring: Implemented to reduce memory allocation
Fixed: Resolved issues with some streaming objects.
Memory Usage: Reduced overall memory usage.
Fixed: Addressed Key binding and Graphic setting issues. Also fixed the shadow reset to low when game is paused.
Bug Fix
Infected spawned from mist event can't move.
Rework Work In Progress
Z1_Sector1
Currently, I'm reworking Zone 1, which means it will be temporarily unavailable. My plan is to divide it into smaller, more manageable sectors (like Zone0). The first sector, (Zone1_Sec1), will include the Old West town and shops. Each sector will be updated as soon as it's ready.
To facilitate this rework, I need to remove all existing assets first. This step is crucial for creating a new landscape that's easier to optimize, especially for distant assets which were challenging in the old layout.
In the upcoming patch, I'll also temporarily relocate the wild animals from Zone 1 to Zone 0. This includes herds of wild boars, wolves, and bear cubs.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: If after a patch, the client starts and throws some type of error with Anticheat, close Steam and reopen it to see if it is fixed, always remember to start Argentum 20 from Steam, because This is sometimes also the cause of technical errors, otherwise you should follow these steps:
1) Locate the steamapps/common/argentum20 folder and leave it open. (image) 2) Uninstall Ao20, Close Steam. 3) Delete all files from Argentum20 folder (image) 4) Open Steam and Reinstall AO20.
Class balance: Killer/Killer Poisons Adjusted base damage and the number of hits applied. At the same time, we removed the possibility of equipping Katana to slightly minimize the DPS that it achieved when using it in conjunction with Venom 3, to compensate you can now use Viking Sword (6-16)
To stab We believe that the stab damage was a little low, to adjust this we increased the rate from 1.0 to 1.2, we hope with this change to give the Assassin his most valuable tool in combat.
Quests: NPC Makrom in Dungeon Newbie: Now offers new quests for players on those maps.
Modified Quests: "Invade the Underworld": Removed experience point reward. Increased gold reward to 15,000.
"The Queen of the Gorgons": Removed experience point reward. Increased gold reward to 15,000.
NPCs/Mapping/Objects Adjusted prices for newbie potions. Magic Arrow can now be purchased for 800 gold coins. The “Cure Minor Wounds” spell now requires 10 magic skills. The katana can no longer be used by the Assassin class. The Viking Sword can now be used by the Assassin class.
Fixes: Fixed a dating error in the “Invade the Underworld” quest Fixed a problem in the "Invincible Steed" quest. Fix Miner's Clothing item only for Humans. Fixed an issue with the "Miner's Outfit" graphic not appearing correctly in the inventory. It is now displayed properly.
Several years ago, River Relaxation VR was released on Steam to provide an outlet for users to enjoy a calming, visually appealing experience. In the years that followed, new headsets have entered into circulation and the visual and immersive qualities of VR simulations has reached incredible new levels. River Relaxation VR however has not kept up with these new technologies and quality bars, nor has it had any new content added to it these past few years.
It has thus been decided to remove River Relaxation VR from the store for these specific reasons:
In its current form, it does not meet the minimum bar of quality that I believe modern VR simulations being distributed on the Steam platform should have.
There is no guarantee of compatibility with any VR headset released in the recent past.
It is no longer in development or being actively supported, and there are no plans to change that.
I appreciate the attention the app did get for its time; but it is time to move on and not clutter the Steam store with low quality "oldware" that is untested on new hardware or new operating systems.
If I bought it, can I still run my copy?
Yes. The simulation will remain in your Steam library. You may continue to download, install, and launch it. The Steam Community will also remain visible and accessible for you to post in.
What about Beach Relaxation VR?
Due to serious compatibility issues with the Vive Headset, development has indefinitely been postponed. I hope to revive it someday...and if I do, I also hope to have other VR developers help me figure out why the simulation, despite being based on a popular game engine, behaves so radically different between the Oculus and Vive headsets.
We have some interesting new content, which reveals more about the enemies found in the game.
The Bestiary contains detailed information about enemies you defeat. Each entry is slowly revealed as you rack up the kills.
The Bestiary shows regular spawning enemies and guard types that spawn when you enter their domain. Mini bosses, bosses, guardians and a few others are not included.
When you unlock all the enemies on a map, the Bestiary rewards you with an Attribute Bonus, e.g. Movement Speed +10%. The bonus must be selected on the Character Selection screen, just before you start playing. Only one bonus can be used at a time.
Brumik offers a new deal to players that are Survivor Level 4. It is a new playable character with interesting weapons. As usual, he requires some rare drops.
Monster eggs now drop from all regular spawning enemies. They are extremely rare so start collecting them until we complete the feature.
Limit break has been enhanced with Soulfire. When it triggers, surrounding enemies start burning with blue flames. The effect is most useful at lower player levels. Position yourself well to engulf as many enemies as you can.
Fixed a problem with the mission progress icon appearing outside of mission maps.
Increased the number of enemies that drop metal fragments.
Go ahead and have a look at the Attribute Bonuses you can unlock with the Bestiary. Some of them will be invaluable.
