It’s been a while (🎵) since we last updated you on the development of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, so we thought we’d let you know what we’ve been up to the last couple of months.

Coming out of the demo where only the Scout was playable, we were super excited to get started on the remaining classes. One of the first we wanted to tackle was the Driller.

The main challenge in creating this class was ensuring his core capability of fast drilling felt good and not just like an upgraded Scout. The Scout perfected the art of kiting the enemies while dealing damage from afar, but we wanted the Driller to get a bit more up close and personal. He has several shorter range weapons that focus on slow cooking hordes of aliens with fire and acid damage.

We also had to change the visuals of plowing through rock to look more like it’s being crunched up rather than just mined with a pickaxe, and of course we had to create the animations to support his signature titanium power drills.

During the playtests and the Steam Next Fest, you’ve been able to mine in the Crystalline Caverns, now prepare yourselves cause we are turning up the heat!
You guessed it! We’re going to the core, the Magma Core, so get ready to tap dance on hot rock and dodge explosive plants like your life depends on it, literally.



Going through all your great feedback from the Steam Next Fest we noticed that interacting with the supply pod could be improved. We twisted some knobs here and there and turned that interaction into a clear-the-zone mini objective.

You now have to clear the drop pod landing zone from rocks and minerals, then defend the zone for a short bit before the supply pod will drop and you’ll be able to loot your company sponsored goodie bag.



Our next Steam post will cover the third and final biome that will be included in the Early Access launch. We'll also be sharing some information about the process of getting the biomes in DRG: Survivor while still staying true to the original gameplay. We plan on adding more maps throughout the Early Access development of course.

Besides this we are working on adding a lot more depth to the guns, overclocks, new voice lines, class mods and much much more that we can’t wait to share with you.

Hello everyone! This is not really "Dev Blog Nr 1" since a lot of you have been following along with HASTE's development on Twitter and TikTok for the last two years but now that we are on Steam we thought we'd do these summaries every now and then.

Recently we tested out a new ability for one of our characters - The Courier.

When you make good landings in the game you get energy that can activate a board which becomes more powerful after you use it for more than 2 seconds at a time.


We're also testing out a roguelite mode for the game! Since the summer we switched the game's focus from a BR game to focus more on what makes the game fun - running. We like this direction and hope to flesh it out even more in the months to come.

A new difficulty level, "Very Hard", has been added to the boss monster of the popular ongoing Xmas Event quest "Disturbing Screams on the Holy Night".

"Disturbing Screams on the Holy Night", a new scenario released for the first time in 2023, has become available after the maintenance on 12/7/2023.

After you have completed the Xmas Event quest "Sacred Power Reversal Mayhem", go talk to "Pelulu" in "Navida City" and select "Sacred Power Reversal Mayhem" to start the quest.


The adventurer and Pelulu who have come to Navida City hear the children in the city saying that they are not expecting anything from Xmas.
They then ask Dunder who sighs heavily and finds out that the townspeople are not welcoming Xmas. Velly who sees that is shocked and she hasn't come out of her house since then.
As the adventurer and Pelulu are worried about Velly, they have decided to go to her house,

When they arrive at her house, they find Velly looking wasted...?!

Certain monsters that inhabit the event-limited map can also be tamed and captured with Tamer Skills.

Some monsters can only be found here, so if you see any monster that you like, try to capture it!

To capture monsters, you need to have empty Consumable Item: "Pet Cage"(*1), and learn Tamer Skill: "Taming"(*2).
By using "Taming" on the monsters that can be captured while meeting the conditions above, the time limit will be displayed.
Capture will be completed when the green bar reaches to max within the time limit.
If the green bar didn't reach to max within the time limit, the capture fails and you may lose a Pet Cage.

*1 You can buy "Pet Cage" at general stores in cities.
*2 You can learn Tamer Skills at the library in Sofya City by paying Spina.
Lv1 Tamer Skills are available from Lv30, Lv2 Tamer Skills from Lv90.

Talk to the Blacksmith in "Sofya City", "El Scaro" or "Hora Diomedea", tap "Create Equipment" and select "Limited-Time".

Use "Mats Search" to check the materials required in a crafting recipe.

Besides, you can also tap the monster shown on the top of the mini map to see the list of items the monster drops.

It's a useful feature that will definitely make crafting items more convenient than ever, so please make use of it!
