An entire incredible team poured heart and soul into creating this game, and after a year of development, we're proud to share this fantastic automation experience with you.
Even though it's just the beginning, the current version already packs around 25% of the planned content, providing you with hours of gameplay.

We'll be continuously adding new features, ensuring the game evolves in your library. And within the next year, you might even find yourself sending mutants to space.

Volcano Islands
A new island type can be found. Here you can find some new caves, challenges, and treasure.
Flintlock Pistols
A new ranged weapon is now available: The flintlock pistol. While a little slower than the bow, it can pack a punch at range with the right stats and talents. A number of different varieties can be found scattered throughout the world. Use them to work up your Marksman skill and unlock new talents.
Other Development
Along with the new accessible content, we are continuing to work behind-the-scenes on implementing co-op multiplayer where you can adventure across the world of Salt with your friends. It will still be quite a while before it is ready, and we don't have an ETA. However, good progress is being made.
A new game does not have to be created to experience the new content in this update.

Animals are now more resistant to bludgeoning damage but slightly weaker to piercing damage
Increased the amount of woodworking experience you get from crafting.
Increased the amount of resources sold by prospector and lumberjack merchants.
You can now buy some wood items from herbalist merchants.
Improved performance at some points of interest.
Changed sail interaction text from Raise/Lower to Extend/Retract to make it more clear what is happening.
We have a very important announcement to make today: the New Story Update will be delayed. We don’t have a date yet, but we are hoping to release it this month.
The reason for the delay is the complexity of the update. To make sure everything works smoothly, we created a completely new quest system from scratch. The one that we’ve used before didn’t allow us to make big changes to quest generation, rewards, and quest complexity. That’s why a decision to make a totally new system was made. We were positive that it would be ready in November, but testing showed us that there are still quite a few things to polish before we can release it to you, our players.
We are going to launch a public test update as soon as we have a build. You will be able to try the new update before release and help us hunt bugs in public testing because we can’t catch everything with our internal QA, it’s simply not possible for a game of this calibre. We will put out an announcement a few days prior to the release of the public test. The test will be completely optional, so if you want to only play the full experience, you can skip it and wait for the full release, which will come after we fix everything that will be reported to us.
We know that the delay is not ideal, but we don’t want to release a buggy update with the potential to break everyone’s old and new save games. No one wants that. We hope you understand our concerns and reasons for this drastic measure. In return, we can promise that the wait is worth it and the game will see major improvements to its story and questing parts — in both single-player and coop modes.

The dev team has been hard at work on the next patch that will be releasing soon, as we didn't want to break any of your saves with a smaller one. But first, there will be an Open Beta to make sure everything is working, and some things you can expect to see are quality of life changes, some tweaks to the MIO's, balance changes as well as many many bugfixes for multiple nations including Iceland, Norway and more!
We're planning on releasing the patch next week, so here are the planned changes below;
- reduced airframe weight curve for small airframes, with a higher effect at higher tiers - increased air attack of lmg and hmg plane modules by 50% - Finland: Tweaked AI weights for the Finnish decisions to surrender to Soviets or switch sides in the Continuation War so that Finland actually puts up a fight. - Fixed several issues with the Karelian Uprising triggered by Finland during the Soviet Civil War, the non-Stalinist side of the civil war receiving both the Karelian Uprising and National Uprising events about Karelia, Finland not always properly joining the war against the Soviet tags, and the non-Stalinist side of the Soviet civil war not being able to decide whether to declare war on Karelia (and Finland when appropriate) or be friendly to them.
