- Added a region selection dropdown in the menu, so that players can utilize their closest master server for an increased network speed, whilst giving players the option to connect and play with further regions.

First, I want to wish all of you a very good start to December. I have some exciting news to disclose. Firstly, Longvinter is participating in a charity event where you can donate to any charity and receive a collection of games, including Longvinter. All the money goes towards the charities. The link to the event is here: [Jingle Jam Charity]
More Customization
You've been asking for more customization options, and we're delivering. Going forward, you will receive compendium outfits for each type of compendium: Farming, Fishing, and Hunting. The Cooking outfit is still in production but will arrive after December. Once you've unlocked all items in a given compendium, the outfit will appear in your inventory, and you can equip it from the newly renamed 'Shop & Customize' screen in the menu.
We've also added custom backpacks, other clothing items, new faces, and hats. More details on how to achieve them in the next chapter.

New Item Shop & Vintercoins
As mentioned earlier, there's now a new item shop accessible from the customize menu.
Here, you can buy items to wear while adventuring on Longvinter Island. Vintercoins, a currency you can buy with your Steam wallet, are also introduced. Additionally, you'll earn 500 Vintercoins by playing about 30 minutes daily. Players who have previously played Longvinter can retroactively redeem Vintercoins based on their playtime. Note that your games library must be public to achieve this.
Some items are only obtainable from tackle boxes, which drop randomly as you play. These can be opened with keys available in the shop, purchasable with Vintercoins – so no real-world money is needed to obtain and open tackle boxes.
Free Tackle Boxes
Starting today, you'll also receive Christmas edition Tackle Boxes that don't require keys to open. Simply click on them in your inventory in character creation to open them!
1.12 Retrospective
I want to take a moment to review the initial launch of the 1.12 update and address the issues experienced in the first week. This was the largest overhaul we've done since the game's initial launch, and it will be the last major overhaul of a singular system. The reason for the overhaul was to allow more customization of items and placeables. Now, each item can have unique values, so we don't need to create multiple instances of the same item with minor differences. We can also now store states, like a mini turret battery state, which persists even if you pick it up to relocate. Server lag issues are our top priority, and the item shop and customization shop were completed before we launched 1.12, even to the experimental branch.
Thank you for being patient, and we'll return next week with another bug fix update!
The latest Space Boat demo update is now live on Steam! We added several Accessibility features as well as quality of life improvements to this build. Since there seems to be a lot of interest in the details of what was done, I have put together a detailed list:
Quality of life changes:
The controller navigation in the character creator UI is much improved. The controller highlight box now moves around how many people would expect it to.
We added a new UI element that distinguishes pre-built suits (like the Pepper-oh-noes suit) from custom designed suits.
We added a covert level indicator in the character creator that describes more clearly why the mission cannot start. This will also open gameplay possibilities as well as open the door for items that can improve your covert rating.
The FBC race map now has improved collision and a new wider passthrough gate. It has been used to improve the flow of the track.
Accessibility Features:
The pause menu is now available throughout the game (except during the chapter select screen which now has a similar menu with all the same features built-in). This change alone opened a number of bugs that have been addressed. I’ll spare you the details, but I think we can all agree that being able to change any settings or jump to any chapter at any moment is a win for everyone.
We finally added a Sound FX volume slider to our settings tab so that all sounds can now be adjusted by the player.
We decided to keep the ambient music and game music on the same slider for streamers to easily mute out any song that is not our theme song and could lead to DMA strikes since some of our music might not be valid for streaming due to Premium Beat’s ever changing licensing agreements. Over the next year, we will be replacing all our licensed music to improve this situation.
There’s been a lot of work done in the game for people with color blindness in the last year. For example, we added button prompts to what were originally just text color indicators. None the less, we have included the infamous color-blind shader option for the small minority of color-blind people that find it helpful. Please note that a lot of work is built into the art direction of the game, so this option is probably not necessary. The game was built to be color-blind friendly without it.
Mouse and controller sensitivity is now available. This is a win for everyone since not having it was an annoyance for many streamers as well.
We added a framerate cap option for people who might need some processing power to go to another application other than the game (like OBS for example).
We added an Auto-Run option to avoid having to hold the run button. Although running in Space Boat is not necessary, as a triple amputee myself, having to hold any button simultaneously in most games while operating other buttons is a quick way to get me to stop playing (although I have completed every Souls-Borne game there is). None the less, it is now an option which will at the very least, help players get through the electrified portion of the second chapter unscathed.
We added an option for Single-Stick controls! Now you can walk and race without the need for two controller sticks.
Inverted controls was something that came up several times in the comments section. You can now switch it on here instead of having to go through any platform specific option.
Finally, we added the option to toggle our subtitles. Previously they were always on, but now you can turn them off. These subtitles were designed for people with hearing impairments since they included descriptions of sounds.

Today, let's talk about some harsh truths and look ahead to a future that might hold unexpected surprises.
Before you dive into the mysterious world of the game, now's your opportunity to ask any questions you have about Serum. It doesn't have to be a matter of life or death, but maybe there's something you're curious about.
Remember, no question is perfect, and possibilities are constantly changing. The Serum might be the only way to uncover the truth!
Make sure to post your questions before midnight on December 15, 2023.
During the previous meeting, ToT – head of Ankama – presented the contents of Update 0.13 rolled out in October and the official trailer for season 4 of WAKFU, the series, and the Oropo special episode. It's December now, and the next update is fast approaching… So now's the perfect time to sit down with you again, on Twitch, to share our plans for the coming months!
For this end-of-year show, we're preparing a slight different format than usual with no less than three members of the WAVEN production team to answer the questions of a guest host invited especially for the occasion. Two sessions are planned in French and English so we can reach our international community. In the French episode, Nozadah will be joining the party and speaking for you during the live!
Where? When?
From 2:30 p.m. (CET) for French-speakers, with XyaLe (project manager & narrative designer), Tator (game designer), ToT (creative director), and Nozadah (Ankama partner) as guest host.
From 4:30 p.m. (CET) for English-speakers, with Zams (narrative designer), Tator (game designer), Bast (game producer), and Ambellina (product director) as host.
During these livestreams, we'll talk about WAVEN from its launch in early access without beating around the bush, then we'll talk about the major content lines for the next update, and finally we'll also take the opportunity to share our forecast and major objectives for the future. At the end of the show, we'll finish up with a Q&A session during with YOU'll have your say!
Don't miss this exceptional show. See you on Wednesday, December 6!
This show will be available for replay on our Twitch channel:twitch.tv/ankamalive
Not going to be available to watch this show live but have a question that you want to ask our teams? Share your question in the comments and we'll try to answer at the end of the show!
Hey Ranchers! I’m thrilled to bring you the latest update for Vampire Rancher. As we begin the holiday season, let's dive into the details of what's new in this month's devlog!
Forageable Creatures 🐌
In the corners of your town, you'll now find forageable critters! These creatures, like snails and frogs, are more than just garden pests; they're valuable resources waiting to be discovered. Collect them and use them in various cooking recipes, alchemical potions, and collect their eggs to create a mini-menagerie. So make sure to keep an eye out for these charming critters during your strolls.
Rainy Nights ☔
I’ve worked on adding rain to Vampire Rancher. Say hello to gentle rain showers that not only add a soothing ambiance but also bring benefits to your crops. Rain will automatically water your crops to save you some time. Note that the rain might affect the mood of certain town guests, so be sure to stock up your tavern with mood-boosting foods and drinks.
New Shop: Seed & Sundry 🌱
Seed & Sundry is your one-stop shop for all your farming needs! You’ll be able to buy seeds, farming tools, and other sundries to help you grow better and more crops. I’m still developing Seed & Sundry’s shopkeeper, so keep an eye out for this character in a later update.
Cooking UI Improvements 🍲
I’ve spent some time improving the cooking and crafting screens. You’ll be able to see the different recipes, their ingredients, and fuel costs more clearly. The quality and nature of your ingredients can affect the traits of the cooked meal.
Fuel System for Crafting 🔥
Some crafting stations, like the Cooking Range and Fermentation Vat, will require fuel to operate. You can create firewood from splitting logs and mine coal ore from deep below in the vampiric ruins for fuel sources.
I hope you enjoy these additions and improvements so far. I’m almost a year into development and am ecstatic about the progress so far. I understand waiting isn’t easy, so thank you for being patient and giving me the time and space needed to create an awesome game.
To folks that celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas; and to others, and those that find it a stressful time of the year, I hope that you have a restful holiday season. 🎄✨
