Hello!

Thanks to support from our players we have identified several problems that impact different users of the game.

Firstly, player PRPE7UAL has helped us identify a situation where the game would hang on start with a white screen due to a Unity issue involving certan vsync settings on Nvidia graphics cards. Accordingly we have switched to using the software encoder for movie playback on all Windows builds. This should resolve launch issues you have in these setups.

Second, thanks to Yhprum we found an issue where the updated movement UI could cause unsolvable puzzles in a few levels due to subtle changes in how potential movesets are generated. 9-2 is one such level and should be solvable again now.

Finally, thanks to omgkitteh we discovered in previous versions of the game there was an unintended glitch that allowed Toshi to move in certain ways with his powermove. This was culled in the QoL update inadvertantly, but we have restored this behavior now to preserve the 1.0 experience of the game for those players which may have been using the glitch to solve some of the levels.

Improvements

System
  • Temporarily changed to allow saving inside the castle.
*Even if you save inside the castle, it will load in front of the castle gate.
  • Changed so that keystrokes are not applied while loading.

User convenience
  • If you attempt to trade without selecting the other party's item, a warning message will be displayed.

Balance
  • The distance you are pushed back when attacking with a weapon or being hit has been reduced.
  • The rain or snow cycle has become longer.
  • The duration of weather conditions such as rain and snow has been reduced.
  • The regeneration cycle of Sagong & Yeokri has been shortened.
  • Changed so that hostile NPCs do not spawn near the train station.

Bug fix
  • Fixed an error where some plants, including wild ginseng, were rendered abnormally.
  • Fixed an error where the viewpoint range restriction was not removed even after using a bow.
  • Fixed an issue where ore would sometimes not be mined when using a pickaxe while attached to ore.
  • Fixed an issue where NPCs and animals would rise into the air when hit by an arrow.
  • Fixed an error where some plants were receiving light treatment abnormally.
  • Changes have been made to prevent players from becoming trapped if they are abnormally moved inside the castle.

Multiplayer
  • Fixed an issue where non-host players would have their inventory disappear.
  • Fixed an issue where the player's coordinates were not syncing properly.
  • Fixed an error where NPC data was not synchronized properly.
  • Fixed an issue where chests could not be opened if you died while opening them.

SWAPPY WORLD DEMO OUT NOW!!

We are pleased to announce that the playable version of the pre-alpha demo of Swappy World is finally online!

First of all: Awakening Games is a small software house publishing for the first time on Steam its videogame it cares about. Our mission is to create content that is shared as much as possible with users and then build a community around it: to listen to opinions and suggestions that come from users. This is because we really care about this game and throughout the development period (which we assume to be about 1 year) we would like to create as smooth and enjoyable an experience as possible.

This is why Swappy World will be a fully moddable game: any user will be able to create their own Biomes, their own Cards, their own Items, and so on, to the point where they can almost reinvent something new!

We are aware that the game is still far from final development and at present there are several bugs to be fixed, but we will update the demo often with these fixes.

A full Roadmap will be available soon, outlining all the next steps of development.

But despite this we still want to update you on what we intend to develop very soon, in the coming weeks:

  • bugfixes
  • multilingual support
  • support for saves (also in the cloud)
  • development of the first boss fight
  • hint of plot: we are working on a catchy, fully animated opening movie!

With Update 0.7.75, frame rates should double on average for most players. We will later add a FPS cap slider to the game via hotpatch so your machine doesn't roar like a jet engine.

  • There will no longer be blurry textures on characters if VRAM is insufficient.
  • Exiting a sex scene without the investigator getting sated will no longer lower their affinity.
