I know I haven't been working on this game for awhile, I've been busy with a new project. However, I decided to put that on hold for now to bring new content to this game. A whole new area with new platforming challenges and more lore.

This new area is called "The Cave". It is a secret optional area that can be accessed at the very beginning of the game. In this area you will find previously unused traps and enemies, more upgrades to help with the main areas, new boss(es), and even a new outfit.

I don't have a release date for this yet, however my estimate is within 2023. Stay tuned!

When the four of us first came together, we never imagined that we would be able to create a game like this. But here we are, presenting you with our demo and potentially a full version early next year.

We just updated the game (1.3) to fix some of your feedback, please find below the detailed patch notes:


  • Fixed a crash occurring at the end of the campaign.

  1. During the stairs tutorial, a hard-lock occurring when the “furniture” section is folded has been fixed.
  2. During the trap tutorial, a hard-lock occurring when the “traps” section is folded has been fixed.
  3. Extending a treasure room won't hard-lock the next construction at the same floor anymore.
  4. Several save corruption bugs fixed.
  5. Fixed an issue where destroying or selling a counter in the treasury while a banker was working on it could block the game.
  6. When the bathroom was modified, minions could be frozen.
  7. Fixed an issue where enemies tagged for imprisonment could never be imprisoned if torture had taken place beforehand.

  • Yrfoul’s book was written in English when the game was in Polish.
  • A note on how the tocs’hen works has been added in French and English (for the moment).

  1. Task priorities have been reworked
    • Minions will satisfy their vital needs earlier (sleeping and eating).
    • They'll look after their vital needs first, then their secondary needs, then they'll do one-off jobs like summoning a demon (at the player's command), and finally they'll do their daily work. It's worth noting that both going on strike and demanding their wages take precedence over any other need. Life is about having priorities anyway.
    • Mass resignations are way less frequent.
  2. A small morale bonus will now be applied to all minions in the dungeon when they resign, to limit mass resignations.
  3. When a minion is recruited, the filling level of their gauges has been raised.
  4. Now when a soldier is fighting, his needs are frozen.
  5. The "Bored" state no longer lowers the morale meter.
  6. The calculation of distances made by minions when they are searching for a room has been revised.

  1. Minions now run to the tavern (when they want have fun) instead of walking. And their needs keep on decreasing.
  2. Bankers had an erratic behavior when at their counter: they would stand up and sit, which made their needs decreasing. They should now remain sitting at their counter until all employee are paid.
  3. Minions were not distributed correctly between the various treasure rooms.
  4. Selling a room from the Top View was causing errors.
  5. Fixed errors with the Radio.
  6. Same for the kitchen.
  7. Same for the prison.

  1. Campaign characters (Draja, Orolf, etc.) cannot be healed.
  2. More complex resignation issues need further investigation:
    • Rank 6 minions only eat desserts, which should only be eaten by higher ranking minions (8+).
    • Dishes-meals are not eaten enough, which prevents human cooks from ranking up as fast as other minions (as the meals are clogging the production line). Desserts being produced by human cooks from rank 6+ only, this limits the amount produced, thus making high ranking minions (whose needs are not met) resign faster.
    • Overall food consumption currently favors meat. It needs to be more balanced.
  3. In the sandbox options, deactivating the Golbargh's gauge has the opposite effect: he is permanently on rampage mode.
  4. From greenraba : Adventurers are blocked and never enter the dungeon. Problem with steal food quest when the room targeted was being modified at the moment the adventurers spawned
  5. Dwarves might strike on their own, and never leave the "on strike" state if a minion tries to strike but gets stuck in place (like on the stairs).
  6. Cultists' needs are not paused during a sacrifice.
  7. The "Statuette of Gladeulfeurha" is not working as intended.
  8. Adventurers’ orcs don’t have a body.
  9. During the 7.9 quest, if the adventurers kill all of the guards, they may get stuck in Golbargh's lair.
  10. The torture gauge is quickly filling up, even if the Executioner leaves the prison.
  11. Pausing the game and selecting a raid will unpause it.
  12. Sacrificing Vampires does not spawn demons

Hello! Thank you again for playing Knuckle Sandwich. I have been hard at work since launch paying attention to feedback and solving the small issues that turn up. I have just uploaded a patch to help smooth things out even more. Here are the notes:

Update 1.1.1

  • Fixed issue where wrong controller buttons were displaying for battle minigames.
  • Adjusted party member damage output.
  • Removed obstacle in Chapter 3 dungeon softlocking the game.
  • Fixed softlock from certain minigames completing.
  • Chapter 5 enemy balance adjustment.
  • Chapter 5 unique boss segment difficulty adjustment.
  • Fixed bug where you were unable to sell items in Chapter 6 store.
  • Adjusted difficulty of Chapter 7 puzzles.
  • Fixed cave shop softlock.
  • Fixed hold item not doing what it says it does.
  • Fixed missing dialogue.
  • Fixed issue late in the game where cutscene would be left hanging if Simplify VFX was turned on.
  • Increased number of item PCs across the game.


Before playing any further, please update your copy of Knuckle Sandwich.
