This is first of series of regular devlogs on the development of Fantasy Zoo so you can know how the development is going and what to expect in future.
Mana system
Mana has been a long planned feature of the game since there is heavy magical element. Plan is to have all magic elements to feature mana in some way. Mana is a simple resource that is passively gained by building mana crystals and its storage is limited by storage crystals.
Magic crystal passively use mana and if mana starts to run out, random crystals start to go off to balance it. System is quite similar to usual electricity systems found in other games, if crystal gets mana its active and if not, its effect is disabled. This can lead to classic Jurasic Park experience where running out of mana can lead to rampaging animals in the zoo.
Mana is also meant to be used with different spells player can cast. All basic tools like delete or undo are classified as spells but these basic spells are cheap to use. More complex spells like mass moving objects are more expensive and are limited by mana storage to limit their excessive use.
New magic effects
There are many ideas for new magic crystal effects, effects can be categorized by their effect area or their hit targets.
Enclosure crystals, affect the whole enclosure they are in.
Area crystals, affect area around them
Each crystal has also different objects they can have effect on, wall strengthening crystals affect only walls and so on.
There are many planned effects, here are some of them coming in next patch:
Crystal of bastion, increases strength of walls near it.
Crystal of speed, increases movement speed of everything near it.
Crystal of miasma, enclosure crystal that is required for undead beings.

A new update is now available for Primal Carnage: Extinction on Steam!
The November Update brings many game balance adjustments alongside our special thanksgiving event...
GAMEPLAY HIGHLIGHTS
We've been continuing to work with our community testers and listening to feedback in general about certain classes and weapons. A big focus this update is the Pyro, reinforcing his role as more of a human tank and making him a more dangerous enemy...
PYRO MANIA
Dinosaurs are now even more vulnerable to damage to when on fire, and damage over time from the molotov, flaregun and incendiary grenades is now consistent. The flamethrower has received a moderate boost to instant hit damage and the chainsaw's damage mitigation now also applies to Bruiser attacks. This means pyro can withstand more punishment and deal it out better, so we have also ramped up the flamesaw's fuel consumption rate.
Pyro's lethality extends to his death as well, with the "Pyro Bomb" explosion now also damaging dinosaurs if he died by falling. However, there are a number of checks in place to counteract this - if a Pyro was dropped by a Ptera, it will NOT hurt dinosaurs. You also need to have received more than 75 fall damage to trigger an explosion, and we have reduced the amount of damage Pyro will do to his teammates when blowing himself up.
RAPTOR POUNCE
We've made pounce a bit more viable as both an attack and a way to get around. Raptors can now aim much higher with their "charged" pounce, jumping to ledges above at more extreme angles. Max pounce distance is increased, and raptors have much less fall damage when landing from a long range pounce.
We've also added impact damage when a raptor hits a human with their pounce, which increases up to +25 bonus damage with a charged up pounce attack. This rewards raptor players who have good aim, and gives a minor consolation prize if they pounced someone with too low stamina to maul them.
TUPA TWEAKING
More fine tuning has been done to the Tupa, with a lower stamina cost for air dashing into humans and 3x faster stamina recovery speed. Stamina management remains an important part of being an effective Tupa, but is less punishing now. When fighting a Tupa, know that the back of its head is now a weakpoint.
STAMINA AND MORE
Finally, since stamina is an increasingly important factor in combat, all classes except for Tyrants now gain 35% faster stamina regeneration if they crouch down. These and other changes have been prompted by discussions with our community on Discord, and we'll be continuing to tweak things going forward.
But that's not all!
Scroll further down to the full changelog below to see all the other quality of life fixes, improvements and optimizations in this update...

Each of us has some fears hidden deep inside. We all try to lock them out and to prevent anyone from using them against us. However, sometimes a single thought is enough to set off an endless spiral of anxiety. The antagonist of our game titled “Hank: Drowning On Dry Land”, is well aware of this. I’m Kuba from MyNextGames and today I’ll talk a bit about Hank’s nemesis, the Unraveler.
A perfectionist, a mastermind, the composer of chaos - yup, all these terms perfectly describe the Unraveler. He’s able to consider even the most unpredictable scenarios just to not let anyone ruin his performance. The Unraveler wants to see the world descending into total chaos by his single push, creating a frightening domino effect.
By the virtue of overrunning Metro City Asylum, he’s willing to negotiate before he starts killing the hostages but on one condition. He will only speak to one person - Hank, his captor. He loathes Hank who thus far has been the only one who managed to put a stop to a plan that's already been set in motion. Ever since that moment, he is obsessed with figuring out how Hank managed to pull such a stunt.
With the power of illusion and trickery the Unraveler tries to get inside his opponents’ heads and subjugate them to his will. He’s using their fears as a weapon against them and proudly watches the show. Will Hank be able to tame the villain, or will it be the Unraveler who emerges victorious from this clash?
If you want to meet the Unraveler and have a chance to talk to him, I suggest you try our short game “Hank: Straightjacket”. You will see his sociopathic nature combined with the arrogance and artistic flair that make this character so unique. You can check this narrative experience on Steam.
We have so much more to show you, but that’s all for today. Be sure to follow us for future news about the universe of Hank. Cya Around Kuba
