After an intense three-week grind, we are thrilled to announce today that Apocalypse Party will officially launch on December 1st!
The Steam Next Fest brought us an overwhelming number of creative thoughts and feedback, inspiring us to expand our original plan of 350 talents to over 500. In addition, we've added 20 exciting map Easter eggs, hoping they'll bring a knowing smile to your face when discovered.
We've also focused on highly requested features, including significant performance optimizations, enhanced controller support, and the squashing of a mountain of bugs.
Looking back since the demo's release, your attention and affection have exceeded our wildest dreams. We sincerely thank you all. This overwhelming response has driven us to work even harder to present the game in a richer and more enjoyable way to everyone who loves it.
Moreover, we'd like to share some upcoming new plans already on our agenda:
Free Crossover DLC: As avid fans and developers of roguelike games, we've actively invited other leading roguelike studios to collaborate. Post-launch, we'll release a small crossover DLC featuring new characters, orange weapons, and extraordinary talents – all for free!
Creative Workshop: We've always believed that player creativity is key to a game's ongoing vitality. Therefore, we'll be opening a Creative Workshop after the game's release, enabling everyone to freely create content they love. We can't wait to see your imaginative creations!

Over the past one month, I have seen a lot of people play Brocula's demo. And this update is for them. Thank You for all the feedback at IGDC, Discord Playtests, and Youtube videos. Your feedback has helped me with fixing a lot of bugs and making the demo even better.
Here are some of the changes in the demo that will help it make a better experience.
Added Waypoints for better navigation in the town
Added controller prompt to tell the player how to run and use map
Converted tasks into a much more linear gameplay
Coffee shop tutorials now tell the player where to go, and added ability to skip steps if the player is familiar with the gameplay
Bug fixes for colliders, now player doesnt have to go back and forth to activate crafting menu
Fixed a soft lock that used to happen when player is triggering crafting menu while running
New transfer menu for better readability
Improvements in fishing.
Players can now throw chicken into the pond. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

What happens after you die? In "SameShadow: Fernando's Journey," death isn't the end—it's a part of a cyclical journey.
Upon death, you enter a Death-Reborn Cycle, allowing a limited number of respawns: more on easy mode, 10 times on normal, and 5 times on Hard mode. However, each death entails losing equipment, retaining only unlocked abilities and the sword.
As you approach the cycle limit, a skull icon, initially opaque with empty eyes, gradually becomes clearer after each death. Red eyes signify "Game Over," indicating a need to restart. This Rogue Lite mechanic adds intensity and strategy.
On Hard mode, fewer respawns and XP loss present a challenging experience. Reversing the cycle requires leveling up—earned by defeating enemies. Leveling grants experience and awakening points, which are used to unlock powerful abilities in the Skill Tree.
When reborn, a limited-time invulnerability protects you, extendable through the Skill Tree as a passive skill, offering strategic advantages. You can also trigger a deliberate death (by pressing 7) after the invulnerability timeframe ends, resulting in a standard respawn.
In essence, avoiding death is key. Enemies become deadlier with increased awareness, no action warnings, and the ability to headshot. To survive, strategic awareness and stealth become essential.

Following the last update , we encountered some new bugs that impacted your gaming experience. Our dev team spent their weekend diligently addressing these issues. Throughout the weekend, our dedicated team members burned the midnight oil to swiftly address these issues. Yesterday, members of our team attended the IndiePlay 2023 offline award ceremony, where we had a brief but delightful encounter with players and friends from diverse corners, all thanks to IndiePlay's gracious invitation.
With heartfelt thanks to the judges and players, we not only secured a nomination for "Best Design" but also proudly walked away with the "Best Game" award during the ceremony.
