Grapples Galore - zoteling
Hey all! Another patch is out now. I believe this version is stable but I have changed a lot so let me know what bugs/issues you experience. I know a lot of the games current issues come from slightly unoptimized netcode so I'm going to be working on improving this issue next.

New features:
- Bounties: If a player has a kill streak of 5 they get a bounty of +10. This increases by 10 for each additional kill they get. Killing a player with a bounty awards you with bonus points and you can spot players with bounties because they have thick yellow outlines visible from around the map (kinda ugly visuals for now but ill fix those in the future).
- Bounties toggle in the match settings
- You can now see servers open around the globe
- Ping display for servers and players
- Guns are now server authoritative which means hacking will be much more difficult for clients. Hosts may still be able to cheat but if you encounter cheating hosts just create your own lobby or find a new lobby to join.

Bug fixes:
- Kill and assist pop up visible even when dead

The highly anticipated Dreadnoughtus dossier has finally arrived, and we're all eager to witness the epic clashes between this colossal creature and the titans of Extinction. Additionally, we're thrilled to announce an upcoming event test drive featuring a condensed version of our traditional Turkey Trial! Lastly, don't forget to save the date for the CurseForge ARK modding Town Hall on November 20th!

Species: Dreadnoughtus recalcitrans
Time: Late Cretaceous
Diet: Herbivore
Temperament: Territorial


Dreadnoughtus was a newly-described fossil genus in my day, named for the idea that it was so large it must’ve had nothing to fear in its own time. The current species does its namesake proud, and may even be able to defy the Titans ruling our post-apocalyptic world.

A big believer in picking on creatures its own size, Dreadnoughtus will ignore anything smaller than a Spinosaur to focus on larger threats. It absorbs the fury of incoming attacks to charge up its uncanny, Element-disrupting bellow. Even then, this bruiser shows extraordinary patience, waiting until the last possible moment to come roaring back.


Once tamed, Dreadnoughtus will gladly shoulder your heaviest artillery and carry it -- and you -- into battle, on a platform big enough to earn that ‘dreadnought’ name. Your walking war-machine will swallow boulders (or cannonballs!) to spit back up as acid-coated ammo.

If you’re going to war with Titans, it just makes sense to recruit a titanic creature with a grudge against them. Your Dreadnoughtus ally may go down fighting, but not before softening up the adversary for a killing blow. Best of luck, and give ‘em Hell for me!

As the aroma of Thanksgiving feasts fills the air, we're excited to share an update to our Event plans; Turkey Trial will be making a 2023 resurgence in abbreviated form!

Although we won’t be celebrating in true Turkey Trial fashion, we’re cooking up something planned to begin after Thanksgiving on Tuesday, November 28th.

While we weren't planning to unleash the Murder-Turkeys on ARK: Survival Ascended this year, we’ve pivoted in order to do an event “test run”. Our intention is to use the CurseForge Mod Delivery System for this event, which we haven't done before on a wide scale on our Official Network. The benefits of using this system allow us to make sure that Seasonal Event Mods are always accessible, even after an event has ended so players who want to run them on their servers or in single-player can do so year-round and avoid us having to update clients, but just patch the mod itself.

Turkey Trial will still feature the same thrilling scavenger hunt, genetically-modified Murder-Turkeys, and the chance to craft your very own Turkey Costume or Ugly Sweater skin - in addition to some new Turkey Trial goodies!

We'll have more details to share in the next Community Crunch, so, stay posted for Much Ado About Stuffing (sorry)!

Xenonauts 2 - Goldhawk
This update is also only accessible by switching to our Experimental branches (instructions on how to do so here) - although note they have slower load times and worse performance than normal builds due to the extra logging they contain!

We're planning to release Milestone 2 onto the standard Steam branches for everyone next week. If all goes well this may be the final Experimental build for Milestone 2, so please give it a test and let us know if you encounter any issues! This update breaks save games so if you want to keep playing 2.10, please do so on the Experimental Legacy branch.

Gameplay Changes:
  • Convoy Ambush and Extract VIP tactical missions now support all potential biomes, rather than always using a fixed map. We've therefore added 12 new maps to the game to allow this.
  • Added research text to the Mantid Interrogation and the Wraith Interrogation. This means all research projects now have research text (although I need to do a quick second pass on a handful more before I call this work totally done).
  • The game now displays "Game Loss" as a failure effect on the initial ATLAS Base Reclaim mission.
  • You can no longer access the VIP's inventory on the VIP rescue missions.
  • Revised some of the objective text lines (that appear in the bottom left of the Geoscape) to reflect changes to the research tree.
  • Aircraft screen now has tooltips for the Weight Capacity and Hardpoint Capacity.
  • Beards should no longer disappear when you equip the heavy armour on soldiers.
Balance Changes:
  • Reapers now have 70TU (from 60) and 75 Reflexes (from 50).
  • Sebillian Bravery increased to 70 (from 50).
  • Wraith Strength reduced to 55 (from 60) and Bravery increased to 60 (from 50).
Bugfixes:
  • Fixed an issue where soldiers that have been removed from dropship (due to injury or being MIA on a mission) are added back in with a broken loadout (this could cause crashes in some circumstances).
  • Fixed an issue where the game would fail to boot for people using the save game folder directory override.
  • Fixed some Landed UFOs never taking off again.
  • Fixed the Ammo Recharge upgrade for the Lasers leaving them with no ammo.
  • Fixed an issue where a soldier caught in multiple simultaneous explosions (e.g. several vehicles chain-exploding) would sometimes only suffer damage from one of them.
  • Fixed surviving soldiers being labelled as "Wounded" rather than "Survived", and not showing a recovery time.
  • Fixed smoke tiles being visually duplicated (so looking much thicker) after loading a saved game.
  • Fixed the sorted column header still being selected on the Soldier screen when you leave the screen and re-enter.
  • Fixed the mods panel buttons all generating unnecessary popups.
  • Updated the weight icon on the Aircraft loadout screen to be correct.
  • Fixed some issues with the dockyard warehouse rollerdoor being able to get into a broken state once opened.
  • Fixed the petrol station columns still being 100% blocking in their destroyed states.
  • Fixed a typo on the Xenonaut base defence mission briefing.
  • Time estimates for research / engineering projects that are not in progress should now always be consistent, as previously they could change by up to an hour (depending if you were closer to the start or end of the current hour).

In the latest version of Aquascape Simulator, we have implemented an exciting game mechanic to encourage exploration and discovery of new areas. We understand that the thrill of uncovering resources is an integral part of the gameplay experience. With our Respawn Mechanic, every item you gather will have the chance to reappear in the same location, allowing you to revisit previously explored areas and discover new gathering spots.

The Respawn Mechanic Explained
Here's how it works: Once you've collected an item from a particular location, such as near a large tree, along the edge of a stream, or around a prominent rock, the item will temporarily disappear from that spot. However, it will eventually respawn after a certain period of time, giving you another opportunity to gather it.

Your Guide to Exploration: The Enviro Map Menu
To aid you in your exploration, we have included the Enviro Map Menu. Within this menu, you can easily track the availability of items across various locations. The items that have not yet respawned will be marked with transparent icons, indicating that they are currently unavailable. This feature empowers you to plan your gathering expeditions, ensuring that you're always aware of the status of each item.



Embrace the Dynamic Aquascaping World
By implementing this respawn mechanic, we aim to foster a sense of adventure and encourage players to explore different areas of the game world. As you traverse the lush landscapes, be sure to keep an eye out for new gathering spots and hidden gems that may have respawned since your last visit. Each location holds its own unique set of hardscapes, plants, and fish, waiting to be discovered and collected.

Remember, patience is key. If you arrive at a previously visited spot and find that the item you're looking for is not there, don't be discouraged. It simply means that the respawn timer has not yet elapsed. Take this opportunity to explore other areas, diversify your gathering locations, and expand your knowledge of the game world.

Requirements
  • Crops affect soil nutrients based on their requirements and soil adjustment values. Fertilizers in the soil amendments tab replenish these values, with specific effects displayed in the tooltip.
  • Cover crops also reintroduce nutrients, shown in the seed selection menu under soil adjustments, where green values add nutrients each cycle, and red values remove them.
  • Add nutrients with fertilizers or cover crops

Dig In Value
  • Plowing crops back into the soil incorporates nutrients and organic matter. Different crops have varying dig-in values that act as multipliers. Crop maturity also influences these values; mature crops contribute more nutrients when plowed in.
  • Crops can also be turned back into the soil to add nutrients with the plow tools.

Move Placeable Tool
  • Use the move tool in the first category or press M for quick relocation of movable items.
  • Items marked as movable can be relocated.

We received a bug report that Cusinart was multiplying, so we fixed the bug.

We do not reproduce the bug as we consider it to be highly urgent, and the correction is based on our prediction of the location of the bug.

Fixed a code that may have caused multiple Cusinarts to appear.

After loading the game, if the game data already has more than one Cusinart,
Once all the Cusinarts are deleted, revert to a determination that no Cusinarts have appeared yet,
Cusinart is now repositioned.

We apologize to any players who were inconvenienced by this bug.
