We are very excited to show you what we've been working on!
I have been thinking over how to slice up A Fool's Art Gallery into a free demo the last few days and think that I have thought it over enough to have a pretty vauge idea of what will be done, it should be out sooner than later. Everything is in place now. Final cleaned up animations are in, all line defs and textures are proper. She's shined up and polished. The game crashing bug has been addressed. I should give lessons to the AAA devs on how to release a game without bajjillions of bugs and errors. If any of them are reading this, you can hire me for only $1000 per day to tell your devs how to release a functional product.
Cleaned up NPC:
Also recently another indy game launched, (Beyond Sunset) also in the GZDOOM engine, which is pretty much my dream game that I was working on my own version of the last few years; coincidentally someone else made the same game with different graphics, basically. A Fool's Art Gallery was released in the hopes of funding the development of this larger game's final development cycle. They definitly knocked it out of the park. So with that I am retooling my other game to diverge it from what it had been planned to be, to something else, to keep things fresh and unique. With this, I realize A Fool's Art Gallery is already a very unique game unto itself as it stands; and I would like to maximize this and expand it well beyond just the art gallery.
I don't think I am going to add any combat; it seems uncouth. What I can say is I want to "make a 3d painting/work of art/thing". I don't know how to explain it beyond that. But things will get experimental and weird. There are a couple dozen blank level slots that can be utilized for this.
I haven't bought Beyond Sunset yet simply because it's going to depress the life out of me that someone beat me to the punch on this, but I also do plan to grab a copy because... I mean it's the game I wanted to make lol So I might as well enjoy it. What is good about all this competition in the GZDOOM engine space is that it's all indy developers and people who have spent a lot of time modding and making TCs over the years, and not AAA devs just looking to pump out a carbon copy of a carbon copy of a carbon copy. There are some very weird titles out now in the engine, and a whack of future titles on their way.
100% of my future games that are being planned out right now, are based in the GZDOOM engine. If Life allows me the time to make them that is. Being an indy dev is a bit of a juggling act.
So that's that.
~Demo will be out soon. ~Another game came out that is pretty much my other game. ~Existential Crisis. ~Some kind of announcement of new content.
Here's a peek of one of the NPCs from my in the works Sci Fi/Cyberpunk game:
Although the game is designed to be played in full screen, some users have asked us to be able to adjust the window. We have included this as advanced options.
It’s been a little over a month since our big Adventure Mode Roadmap. If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, go ahead and do that here. Since then, we’ve been working on a ton of new procedural portraits for goblins, kobolds and animal people which will be added to both Adventure Mode and Fortress mode. Soon you will be able to stare into the face of every single being you encounter in your fort or, bring them along with you in Adventure Mode. Watching humanoids slowly go insane from sobriety or die of dehydration was never so personal.
Here is one of the first screenshots from the new Adventure Mode, featuring an ambitious hippoman at a tavern. Maybe you can convince him to join you on your party? We also see the Adventure Mode UI coming along with your character’s portrait in the bottom left as well as all the new buttons for the various actions you can do.
Below, we also have a first look at the Adventure Mode world map. As you can see, towns are represented in much more detail including roads, farm plots and homes. The little shield acts as the marker for your party as you move through the map to reach new points of interest.
We are happy to announce that we have a new bugtracker ready to go! The bug tracker has now migrated to a new domain with the old account system for reporting and commenting. The previous address and email reporting will no longer be used, so please update your bookmarks and follow the new instructions here: {LINK REMOVED}https://bit.ly/3R2d9t5
Thank you to everyone for your patience and willingness to help to squash all those pesky bugs!

And European Urists can finally rejoice because you can now pick up the vinyl, journal, desk mat and pin on the European storefront, at least until they sell out:
That’s everything we have for this update. Thanks for reading! In a couple weeks will have some very exciting Adventure Mode stuff to show off and a more accurate timeframe for the release!
