Cataclismo’s campaign on {LINK REMOVED} has officially ended! The overwhelming support of 1400 backers (!) has allowed us to raise over 64k euros. Thanks a million for your support!

This will translate into us adding many new features. Here’s a quick summary:
  • Photo Mode. Capture the essence of Hogar and immortalize your fortresses in a myriad of ways. We experimented a bit with an extremely early version of what eventually will become the Photo Mode, and here are the results.

  • A blueprint creation tool to save your creations and auto-build them like this:


  • A new set of tactical pieces that will help boost your troops' attacking power.


  • Cheat codes. We’ll let you use cheat codes to become invincible, kill everything with one hit, or have infinite resources. These examples won’t unlock achievements but will definitely provide some fun. Leave your ideas for more cheat codes in the comments!

  • Survival Mode. Face infinite waves of horrors and get the highest scores in the most challenging mode of the entire game.

Although we weren’t able to unlock the Level Editor, we’re aware it's a highly requested feature, and we’ve decided to add it to the game anyway. Our community deserves the best game possible and we’ll do our best to deliver.

It’s hard to tell if it'll be available for release just yet, but they’ll definitely be added at some point. Whatever content is left out from the release version will be added as a free update at some point.

We’ll post the most relevant news here, but stay tuned to our Discord server for more frequent updates and exclusive content on the game.

Some bugs have been fixed.
The climate system has been edited, increased time to change seasons, the rainy season has been edited to not rain as often.
The night is shorter.
Fixed invert X/Y Axis controls.
Added markers to the flowers, stones,...
Quest Training now starts automatically when starting a game.
Added information to help with where the fibers are collected (from flowers).
Meat spoilage time is increased.
Compass directions relative to the map are fixed.
Increased the chance of getting coconuts from trees.
Fixed merchant cloning.
Fixed totem issue.
Fixed Water Storage.
For consoles added option to control menu in inventory via Xbox LB/RB and L1/R1 buttons for ps5.

The development team here at Gearbox has worked endlessly to try to live up to the standards of the Risk of Rain community. We see all of your passion and love, and we are here to match it! We are fans of the franchise first and foremost, and work to continue to bring forward the same level of dedication and love that you all deserve.

Legend Of Calvas Playtest - Nasmius
Arcane Spire Expansion:🏰🔍
Expanded the first part of the arcane spire based on player feedback. Layout edits were made, and the quest "Returning to the guard" has been removed.

Combat Adjustments: ⚔️💨
Adjusted stamina drain for attacks. Now, stamina only affects rolling and jump attacks. Exploring ways to increase combat difficulty further.

Options Menu for Game Sounds: 🔊⚙️
Added an options menu for game sounds, including music and sound effects. Graphics settings will be implemented in the near future.

Sound Class Adjustments: 🔊🎚️
Changed all sounds in the game to fit the appropriate sound class based on the new settings.

Mini Boss Freeze Effect Update: ❄️🔄
Modified the mini boss freeze effect from a freeze-in-place mechanic to a slow effect, addressing player feedback and preparing for the demo.

Navigation Links for Enemies: 🤖
Added nav links throughout the game, enabling enemies to jump onto obstacles and enhancing their ability to chase the player.

Bow Aiming Fix: 🏹🛠️
Fixed bow aiming issues. Please report any problems encountered for further adjustments.

Inventory Enhancements: 🎒✨
Adjusted the inventory to make category icons blink red and white when new loot is received within respective categories.

Demo Preparation: 🕹️🚧
Preparing for the demo. Bug reports and suggestions are welcome. Grateful for all feedback received so far!

  • Fixed a bug with the Act end widget displaying incorrect difficulty completion stars.
  • Fixed a bug that caused players who joined mid round to not be able to aim their weapon until the following round.
