Ranked Event: GP Macau
For the ninth Ranked Event of 2023 we're going to Macau on Saturday, November 18! Will you join the FR3 for a 25 minutes race or will you take on the GT3 for a 20 & 40 minutes race? The top 32 European drivers based on their Ranked Multiplayer Rank will battle for a spot in the Hall of Fame in this live broadcast.



Leaderboard: compare your time with others
Everybody is invited to set their best lap on the leaderboards to compare your time against others. You do not need to own the track and you can try every car for free. The leaderboards will close on Thursday, November 16 13:00 CEST.





Everybody is invited to race
Everyone who wants to race is invited: all skill levels and regions. You do need to own the content in order to participate. You will be matched with other drivers based on your Ranked Multiplayer Rating and Reputation of your region.

Time zone/regions for the race
The races are organized in three main time zones:
America: ET
Europe: CET
Oceania: AEDT

Confirm you want to race
When the leaderboard closes, a confirmation form will be opened. This form will be sent by mail to everybody who set a lap time on the leaderboard. The form will also be announced on Discord, Social Media and added to this topic.

The confirmation form will be open from Thursday November 16 12:00 CET until race day Saturday November 18. The form will close at a different time for each region:
America: 09:00 ET
Europe: 12:00 CET
Oceania: 18:00 AEDT
Your rating and reputation will be fetched at the time listed above. To be safe, make sure your last race ends +/- 30 minutes before the deadline.

Race day timetable
All times below are the local times (AEDT / CET / ET).

FR3:
18:00 - Practice starts
20:00 - Qualification (10 minutes, private lap)
20:10 - Warm-up (1 minute)
20:12 - Race start (25 minutes)

GT3:
18:00 - Practice starts
20:45 - Qualification starts (10 mins, private lap)
20:57 - Race 1 start (20 minutes)
21:22 - Race 2 start (40 minutes, top 10 reversed grid)


It is possible that the servers will be opened earlier for America and Europe, however the qualification for FR3 will always start at 20:00 local time and GT3 will always start at 20:45 local time. It is advised to join before the qualification starts, you can (re)join during qualification and during the first warm-up.

Note for the players who want to participate in multiple races in multiple regions: you are allowed to do so. You can submit the form on the race day to participate in all 6 races across all 3 regions.

Hi again! 👋

Wow, can't believe it's been one month since our last dev update. We certainly haven't been idle during this time, and have a ton of stuff to show. Gear up, let's cut to the chase and show you what's new in Oppidum! 👇

A NEW FACE FOR THE GAME 🎨

Let's start with something major. Oppidum has a fresh, new key art! Look at it, it's simply fantastic! Our illustrator really outdid himself with this one. If you've been following us on our social media you've probably been able to take a good look at it already.

You can see four people (maybe yourself and three friends) up and ready to explore Insule. They seem to have reached their destination. What could that structure on the distance be? 👀 There's still a long journey to get there, though, and some dangers in the way.

BUILDING OUR SETTLEMENT SYSTEM ⛺
So, we've mentioned a journey and dangers along the path. But what good is any journey if you don't have a place to actually return to? That's right, we've made huge progress to the settlement building system! This will be you and your friends' home base. At your settlement you will rest when you need to, build crafting stations to set up your gear, store your goodies as well as tend to your crops and animals.



There will be plenty of time to spend on your settlement, if it fits your playstyle. Either crafting new gear for you and your squad mates, baking some treats to boost your abilities or upgrading your stations to reach even higher limits. Of course, you will have to acquire the blueprints needed to build and upgrade your stations by progressing in the story and exploring the world.



MEET THE CAST 🐰
And now that we've mentioned the story and the world of Oppidum, let's jump to our next topic. We've already talked about Insule, the beautiful open scenario for our adventure, and some of its locations. On our previous dev update, we showed a glimpse at Litore, one of the main settlements in the island. Let's take a moment to talk about its villagers. They are part of a unique species native to the island, and not so long ago every one of them looked like this:



Cute, but we can't have them all looking the same! We've been hard at work revamping the key NPCs, giving each of them a unique makeover that truly reflects their personalities. From the sassy blacksmith to the patient librarian, you will meet a diverse cast of characters that will make the story feel truly alive as they guide you through it. Take a look at how gorgeous they look!



What do you think? What's your favorite one? They will be present in the story, so you will get to meet them and choose. Can't wait for you to get to know them!

OUR FAMILY KEEPS GROWING 🤝
The Oppidum community is growing, and we can't end this update without a shotout to the wonderful people that have already joined our Discord, who have been chatting and theorizing about what Oppidum has in store for all of you. It's wonderful to have the support of our future players, and we can't wait for the family to keep expanding.

That will be almost all for today. Almost. Phew, ain't too bad for just one month, huh? We've also been making some other adjustments to the game, and progressed in some other really important aspects. For example, the armor sets are almost ready, and we can't wait to show them in full detail. Here's a quick peek at how some of them are looking currenty:



Multiplayer functions are well advanced in development too, so it will be very soon when we can show you some examples of it in action. We've done a few in our social media videos before, but it will look even better next time you see it 😉 And obviously, let's nor forget about the story and questlines that are being written and integrated into the game. We can't spoil too much of it, but look forward to them!

Bucket Brawl: Ahlman Edition - huuHii
Greetings bucketheads! Thanks for all the feedback and for trying out Bucket Brawl: Ahlman Edition! As you might already know, the game was executed as a student project in just a couple of months earlier this year. We had the opportunity to publish the game for free by our school AhlmanEdu as part of our studies. In May we were awarded "Bit1 Student Game of the Year & audience choice" in Finland. It has been quite a ride for us new kids on the block.

We have since formed a small new team and have already begun working on the full version of Bucket Brawl. It will be a completely new game that is built from the ground up to support new features, modes and online multiplayer. Stay tuned!

Meanwhile we have prepared a patch for Bucket Brawl: Ahlman Edition that should greatly improve the performance of the game so that getting rid of your bucket-headed friends could be an even more enjoyable and smoother experience. Let us know if you encounter any issues or bugs. We are aware of some annoying features (or the absence of them) but the focus is on making the full version.
