- Fixed a bug where the "Dark Devotion"-Skill of generic cultists encounters could trigger indefinitely.
- Changed wording of the Height-Text to "Visible Height" which hopefully makes it more clear that the buttons around it change the visibility of tiles
Entropic Float: This World Will Decay And Disappear - Nhitori
- Modified 'thank you for playing' text at the end of the game to reflect more info on the upcoming EF2 Kickstarter! 11/11/2023 ~
- Added a few lines to the GUI dialogue when replaying the Miracle Route
- Fixed the issue where Kanatsun's 'secret note' could not be viewed on his profile
- Finally replaced the placeholder CG in Madeline's Third Memory-Seeking Segment
- Fixed a few more small errors in the text, including one where I implied Shinjiro was born in 2003 because I can't do math. A 19-year-old in 2024 who has a January birthday is born in 2005, not 2003... I'm pretty sure
- Something that used to function perfectly broke because I've updated ren'py since the last update. It seems video files no longer automatically pull from the images folder. I fixed this by moving the videos to the base game folder.

Mortars' Range
Have you ever been pinned down by mortars from really far away from a Vessel? Yeah, it annoyed us too, so we finally got around to figure out the issue with this seemingly unlimited range and fixed it. Now, you need to be from a reasonable distance from the Vessel for them to launch mortars at you.


Fire Ring Self-Damage
Have you ever felt like the Sun Tower combo was... wrong? In the midst of action, it was hard to pin point the issue, but after a bit of focused trial and error, it became obvious that the problem arose when you activated that power: the hitbox, which allows enemies to hit the character, expanded significantly. As big as the Fire Ring itself actually! If an enemy was attacking a tower or anything like that, but the ring happened to be in the area, the player would take damage too.


Dynamic Combo Prompts
If you're about to launch a combo, be it for a normal or a super tower, you have other options while in that mode. You can cancel to take back full control of your character, or you can move to select another tower. But what if there are no towers? Or if you're in a tutorial and that we want you to focus on a specific task? Well these prompts needed to get dynamic to adapt to the different use cases, which we are happy to include in this update.


Smokespawn Hit Animation
Ever noticed that the Smokespawns would glide on the ground sometimes? Yeah that was an animation bug. It's taken care of now.


Corruption No Longer Slows You Down
This one is more a game design change than something broken. Long story short, we're changing somewhat our approach with the combat system in a few subtle ways. To put it simply, we now believe that the character should be mobile. We improved the teleport ability in a past update, we added an experimental dash in another one and this change goes hand in the same vein.


Win/Lose Inconsistencies
Before this update, when we lost the enemies were automatically killed. This was odd, since they just won and we lost. So now, they stay around to enjoy their victory.

We also had a few other changes in this department including a minor animation fix on the core for when we lost. In a few rare occasions, it was also possible to win a round and kill the last Vessel, but still get hit by an enemy at the same time. The outcome of such a scenario was mostly a coin flip: did you win or did you lose? You'd find out after a 5sec animation where you have no control. Now, the outcome should be more clear and immediate.

Speaking of the 5sec win/lose animation, the lose one had a bug in it that made it somewhat static and unnecessarily long, which we of course fixed.


Introduction Mission Nodes
In the World Map, a mission node will tell the player if the mission should be expected to be easy, normal or hard. But what about the nodes for the introduction? They used to display "Very Easy" or "Easy", but we think that these statements are misleading at best. These custom missions do not represent the difficulty of the nodes shown in the campaign. So we decided to display "Introduction" for both of these missions instead to avoid confusion.

We've launched! I'm incredibly excited to have Kana Ka-Boom up and available on Steam!

I'm still learning the in's and out's of Steam, but wanted to get an announcement up on our community page.

This game was designed for those of you that are just starting to learn the Japanese language and for those that want an entertaining way to practice your Katakana and Hiragana. So far, I've only been able to find drag n' drop kana games and flash card games for entry level learning of kana characters which prompted the creation of Kana Ka-Boom.

to try out all of the Katakana section and get a feel for how the game works.

If you do purchase, I'd like you to know that your money will be going right back into making Kana Ka-Boom a better product. In the immediate, I have plans to bring stroke order and the ability for Free Play to remember the settings of your last session. In the future, I'd like to add basic Kanji and words to Kana Ka-Boom and build it up to being a tool that can get you on your way to the JLPT N5 exam.

As we prepare to release the demo this week, we've been hard at work refining "Hakan's War Manager." Here's a rundown of the fixes and updates we've made:

Fixes:


  • We've resolved the tactical screen scroll-down issue, ensuring a smooth and easy experience.
  • The scout leader results will display salaries, as this issue has been fixed.
  • The enemy leader problem, where too many loads could cause an error, has been addressed.
  • Pathfinding issues have been rectified, improving the movement of units.
  • Animation directions are now fixed for a more consistent experience.
  • Leaders will no longer be inexplicably cleared, as this bug has been dealt with.

Updates:


  • We've introduced a quality-of-life update that allows you to clear the tactical board or unassign leaders with a single click.
  • The tutorial now includes new GIFs to make learning the game even more interactive.
  • Icons are now used in place of unit type names, streamlining the user interface.
  • Archers' accuracy now depends on the range, making the game more realistic.
  • Tactical order arrangements have been enhanced for better organization.
  • A battlefield tutorial has been added to help players master the game's intricacies.
  • When conducting clan espionage, you'll now get a pop-up for confirmation.
  • We've created a credits page to recognize the talent behind the game.
  • New music has been added to enhance the gaming experience.
  • Leaders' professions now have an effect on their leadership abilities, especially if they don't align with the unit type.
  • The tactical board's UI has been improved for a more intuitive experience.
