Book of Lore Chapter 5
We are also thrilled to reveal Book of Lore 5! This Book of Lore gives you an insight into the game's new campaign structure to show how you'll be traversing through Fahrul when your adventure begins. We'll also be taking you on a journey to discover the enemies and bosses that you'll be valiantly facing on your journey.



⚔️ New multi-chapter campaign that spans over 5 adventures!
We have re-imagined a new way of playing For The King that will make your playthroughs more enjoyable and more rewarding, whether you play as a hardened Blacksmiths or a quick-witted Scholar.

In For the King 1, the main campaign spans around 9 hours of gameplay from beginning to end, a long journey which always makes starting from scratch really difficult to bear when your party inevitably meets a sticky end! In For The King II, we have extended the main campaign to over 30 hours, but have also broken this up into 5 adventure chapters, each progressing the narrative of the campaign. So, for example, when you complete chapter 1 you unlock chapter 2, enabling you to begin your next session from that chapter.

We hope that with this new campaign style, you will have more flexibility in how you and your friends play, gaining the satisfaction of completing shorter adventure chapters whilst also having a much longer challenge across the entire campaign.

At the beginning of each chapter you start with a new party and loadout enabling you to try new classes and traits as you play through the entire campaign, tailoring your party's capabilities to the challenge at hand. Whilst each chapter has its own objectives, mechanics and unique narrative, just like For The King 1 - you will want to go back and replay chapters to discover weapons, items and character classes to expand your Lore Store unlocks and starting loadouts.



⚔️ The fearsome foes of Fahrul
With each new chapter also comes a boss requiring your steely determination to conquer. You'll be fighting familiar foes as well as brand new adversaries with never-seen-before abilities that will truly test your fortitude, alone and as a party.

These boss battles are now multi-stage affairs, adding even more depth and excitement to each and every encounter. Prepare to fight for survival across several stages of combat, each escalating in difficulty compared to the last.

Some of these powerful foes possess the ability to summon waves of new enemies, ensuring your battles become ever more intense and volatile; whilst others use their size to dominate the battle grid.

One such aquatic antagonist sure to make waves that you may remember from For The King - is the Kraken! This colossal sucker will test your mettle like never before, promising you and your companions a battle so epic, your titanic exploits will make a monstrous splash in the annals of Fahrulian history.

There are also many more over-zealous villains waiting to be squished that we can't wait for you to meet, including one ultimate boss who lies in wait for you...



⚔️Play your way
If the bosses are proving too difficult or if you're slaying enemies without breaking a sweat, don't worry! You can now adjust the difficulty and starting settings of each chapter, enabling you to tailor your adventure to your skill level.

In For The King II you can play how you want to play, if you don't like how you have completed a chapter, go back and revisit it, explore further, fight in a different way; and ultimately unlock more shiny rewards. Once you're happy with your progress, move forward to the next chapter until you are swamped in glory and renown!

Throughout the month of October we here at Odisi games have really been focused on getting the new physics based flight setup and adjusted, so that it's easy to pickup and yet more difficult to master. The work has been worth it, and the new physics based flight has been simply incredible. Lots of other work is going on behind the scenes too!

We’re making our way towards the end goal of having all drones, weapon systems, and armors be interchangeable and more modular, and I’m excited to see this through.



Physics Based Flight Updates:
* Full implementation of the experimental control mode, replacing the previous stabilized mode.
* Restructured various control-related systems.
* Restructured the camera to better assist in aiming while in reverse.
* Fixed thruster sockets on raptor not being attached to the associated bones.

Sound Effects Updates:
* Enemy engine volume and pitch tweaks, should sound a little higher in volume and lower in pitch.
* Implemented new machine gun weapon SFXs.
* Added assets for each new machine gun weapon SFX.
* Scale other drones machine gun sound distance values by half (attenuation and switch container).



Visual Effects Updates:

* Updated drone blueprints to activate new thruster effects
* Fix for effects material not reading correctly.
* Enemy Drones now have a red highlight to help with sighting in for the perfect shot!

Garage Updates:
We've spent a lot of time updating the garage and setting things up to be more interactive. There's sounds and textures that have been added, and the garage itself has been expanded as well!
* Added custom hand decals to replace the scaled up versions implemented into the garage model. Added click interaction sfx for desks, shelves, screens, fire extinguishers, and and red hands.
* Removed 1 light at center back of drone platform to allow for more shadows cast onto bottom side of drone.
* Framed red hands at sides of garage door.



Missile intercept adjustments:
* If there is no obstacle between the intercept target and missile, the missile will pick the most direct vector towards the target.
* Fix issue where owner couldn't see when his Guided missile was shot down.



Stealth Updates!
* Missiles can't follow or intercept invisible drones, even when missiles are already locked before the drone uses stealth.
* Damage marker is not visible if the drone is in stealth.
* Crosshair doesn't turn red when aiming at an enemy drone if the enemy is in stealth.
* Turrets are no longer able to target any drone in stealth.


Additional awesome updates in October:

* General improvements regarding how we handle and notify errors related to skirmish, matchmaking, network and map travel.
* Fix issue where balance values are not applied to pickups
* Hangar - Added health pickups.
* Fix bug letting player shoot while placing turret
* Missing player on the Tally Screen has been resolved!
* Fix issue where the in-game Scoreboard is not showing players.


Server

* Fix matchmaking timer not showing up when playing skirmish while on queue for a deathmatch
* Fix server crash when a player is killed and the killer drone pointer is invalid.
* Fix crash that happens when destroying a turret placed by a player that is no longer connected in the match.
* Fix server crash at end of match that prevented rewards from going to the player.
* Fix issue that triggers when a player presses the 'tab' key and tries to display the tally screen when entering the match.


New! Leaderboards! This change I’m so excited about, and while it’s not in our public branch yet, it’s coming soon!

The [Nirvana Horse] PTR Test has been underway for almost one week, and during this time, our dedicated Warlords have helped us identify a significant number of issues. We are continuously working hard to further improve the performance of [Nirvana Horse], and we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, bringing this magnificent horse into everyone's view!

Again, we are truly grateful for your patience, support, and valuable feedback on [Nirvana Horse]. Through the daily testing and feedback from our dedicated Warlords, we are striving to optimize [Nirvana Horse] by releasing updates at a pace of 1-2 versions per day. [Nirvana Horse] Update Roadmap



Second Stage: OBT

[Nirvana Horse] will enter its second stage - OBT on November 2nd. The test is without any quota restrictions. Therefore, during the period, we sincerely invite all of you to participate in the test. We hope that our Warlords can provide more feedback, helping us in optimizing [Nirvana Horse] it even further.

[Nirvana Horse] will be operated alongside the official version, and you can choose whichever version you prefer for the game.

  1. Test Time: November 2nd (after maintenance) - November 9th (until maintenance).
  2. How to Participate:
    • Install the [Nirvana Horse] client.
      Right-click [Conqueror's Blade] and choose [Properties]



      Select [Beta], Beta Participation: nirvana-Nirvana.



      Update and run the client.



    • Use the [Nirvana Horse] client to log in online server.

  3. How to Provide Feedback:

    • [Nirvana Horse] is capable of communicating with online data and allows for regular game-play
    • To access this version, you need to opt into the beta test through the game's properties on Steam and update it accordingly.
    • This version may have unstable situations such as crashes and unknown bugs, which could potentially impact match outcomes and related scores.
[Nirvana Horse] Launch Plan

[Nirvana Horse] version will be combined with the official online client after maintenance on November 9th. At that time, the [Nirvana Horse] client will not be able to log in, and Warlords who use [Nirvana Horse] client need to change back to the official client.

  1. How to Switch Client
    • Right-click [Conqueror's Blade] and choose [Properties]



    • Select [Beta]
      Choose [Beta Participation] and select [None]



      Update and run the client.

We will have a maintenance update from 12:30 to 16:30 (UTC+8) on November 2nd. The estimated maintenance time is 4 hours. After the maintenance, 8,000 Bronze Coins, 300 Honor, and 15 Unit Medals will be distributed as System Maintenance compensation. Please arrange your game time accordingly.

The update will contain the following:


I. ADJUSTMENTS

1. Unit Changes
Modao Battalion Changes
Attack target number for Bracing: 1 → 3, Piercing Damage Multiplier: 0.25 → 0.1.
Iron Reapers Changes
Fix the issue where direct damage is dealt to a distant locked-on enemy when Tiger's Guile is active.

2. New Exchangeable Item for War Token
3 Unit Medals can be exchanged with 1 War Token, with up to 10 exchanges allowed weekly.
1 Magistrate's Memoir can be exchanged with 4 War Tokens, with up to 4 exchanges allowed weekly.

3. New Honor Shop Additions
Uncommon Scroll of Mastery
Honor Cost: 200 (Original Cost: 450) Weekly Quantity: 150
Honor Cost: 250 (Original Cost 450), Weekly Quantity limit: 200
*After purchasing all Uncommon Scrolls of Mastery priced at 200 Honor, the Uncommon Scrolls of Mastery priced at 250 Honor can be purchased.

4. Other Changes
Honor Medal, Vault Keys, selection or random Artillery Chests, and artillery components now can stack up to 9,999.


II. BUG FIXES
  1. Fixed the issue where some facial attires did not display as expected on the Modao Battalion.
  2. Fixed the issue where the Iron Reapers' attack speed node in inner growth not taking effect.
  3. Fixed the issue where certain Hero Skills were slowing down NPCs in the Capital.
  4. Fixed the issue of missing ground guidance markers in the first level of [Waging War].
  5. Fixed the issue of a misplaced decoration in the [Colosseum: Overload]
  6. Fixed an issue with abnormal terrain in the [Augolia].
  7. Fixed the issue where the [Ursa's Bloodthirst] and [Ursa's Ferocity] Runes didn't work fully as described.

It's All Saints' Eve. This means the Despot has decorated his dungeon for the occasion. But not only that: he's got a big update for you (if you haven't played it yet, that is.) Released a couple of days ago, it features fresh mutations, new enemies in the Director's Cut mode, revised starter teams, item balance, and more! Go check it out.

One more thing. Before November 9th (the start of King of the Hill Season 19), participate in the King of the Hill multiplayer mode and get the unique Halloween medal to showcase next to your nickname! (Note: the medal will appear in the next season, starting on November 9th.)
