◆ 3 Elite Legend Card Released - Three new Elite Legend cards are now available.
[3 Elite Legend Cards] - Lisa, Valkyria, Rakshasa
※ Note on Elite Legend Cards - The screenshots below showcase a card with card stack +10, limit-break 6 stars, and limit-break level 99. - The available Limit-break skills vary for each card. Please refer to the Limit-Break skill option list in the game for more details. - Elite Legend Cards require twice the amount of resources compared to the previous Legend cards when using Limit-break wings and Super evolution stones. - 'Essence of Elite Warrior' is used instead of Hero's Essence for Elite Legend Cards. - Elite Legend Cards can be obtained through [Elite Legend Pick-up Summon]. - The Elite Legend grade is not a new grade but represents a slightly more powerful Legend grade.
[The amount of essence injection/extraction for Elite Legend Cards] > Essence of Elite Warrior consumed for 1 stack injection -> 9,000 > Essence of Elite Warrior obtained for 1 stack extraction -> 3,000
- Alongside the introduction of new Legend Cards, the 'Elite Legend Pick-up Summon' will proceed.
◆ Addition of Card Collection System - A system will be introduced where you can collect cards to obtain Diamonds and additional stats.
[Card Collection] - Cards can be collected in designated spaces categorized by Class when acquired for the first time. : For each card acquired per Class, the following stats will increase. * Steel Class: All card HP + 0.1% * Magic Class: All card ATK + 0.1% * Faith Class: All card RCV + 0.1% - Upon first entry into the Card Collection menu, you can receive one Diamond for each card acquired.
[Group Collection] - A space for collecting cards in groups. As cards within the group acquire a certain amount of evolution points, you can obtain one Diamond reward and +0.1% stats.
※ In the future, new cards may be added to the group collection composition.
◆ Instant Completion System Added - The [Instant Completion] feature, available in the Outpost, will be introduced.
* The [Instant Completion] feature can be used in Outposts cleared with 3 stars. * When using the [Instant Completion] feature, Energy will be consumed in the amount required by the Outpost Dungeon. * The [Instant Completion] feature is provided three times daily for free. : An additional use is available once per advertisement view (including free chances, for a total of 6 uses). : While possessing a Double Membership, an additional three uses are available without watching ads (including free chances, for a total of 6 uses). * Unused free [Instant Completion] uses will not accumulate into the next day. - The [Instant Completion Ticket] item will be introduced. This item can be purchased from the store after exhausting daily free attempts. : The existing [Energy Burn] system will be retained (double energy consumption, double rewards). ※ The Instant Completion system is available in both Outpost and Monster Dungeon. ※ If both Instant Completion Ticket and free Instant Completion attempts are available, the free attempts will be used first. ※ The Energy Burn entry button will be relocated to the left of the [Enter] button.

◆ Levia Halloween Costume Sale - A Halloween costume for the Levia card will be introduced. : If you own the Levia card, you can purchase the 'Levia Halloween Costume' from the card information screen.
* The card's pixel appearance and illustration will change. * It can be purchased for 220 Diamonds.
◆ Mythic Card Enhancement Changes - The method of providing free enhancement opportunities for Mythic Cards will be modified. : One free enhancement opportunity will be provided individually for each card per day, and after using the free opportunity, the enhancement cost for each card will increase individually.
◆ Other Changes - [Bug Fix] The issue where Ledakrad could stack the Duplicate-impossible buff will be resolved (e.g., Zhou Yu's skill). - [Bug Fix] The 'King's Fury' skill of Slain not applying simplification will be fixed. - [Usability Update] The way card information is displayed in the 'Wandering Merchant's Shop' will be changed. : The card information UI shown on the card summoning screen will be called up in this shop. : In this shop, the card information button will be replaced with a different icon instead of [ i ]. : For Equipment / Rune, the [ i ] button will remain unchanged.

It's time for our regular Xenonauts 2 development update. Here's what the development team has been busy with this month!
Milestone 2
Our main focus this month has been Milestone 2, which is undergoing testing on the Experimental branches. This is now feature complete - we're concentrating on bugfixes and balance changes while we wait for a few more maps / art assets / research texts to be completed. We're expecting to be able to release it onto the default Steam branch a couple of weeks from now, about halfway through November.
Milestone 2 contains a lot of updates, including several new types of tactical mission, a new UFO type, and some significant changes to the early part of the campaign to expand the role of the Cleaners (there's more details about this in our previous development update).
Air Combat Rebalance
One thing worth mentioning in more detail is our rework of the air combat. We've implemented a more freeform equipment system for Xenonaut aircraft and then rebalanced the air combat itself so it rewards skillfully maneuvering your aircraft in a similar way to the original Xenonauts, while also trying to remove a few of the more abusable tactics (e.g. it's no longer possible to continually use evasive roll to circle-strafe around an enemy).
This means the overall balancing pass has touched almost every part of air combat. We've tried to create distinct identities for all the different types of weapons you can fit on your interceptors, make the different UFOs pose different challenges to the player, and added some new UFO weapons and aircraft equipment to increase variety.
Of course, many people prefer to simply autoresolve the air combat - and this is one of the ongoing balance issues we're aware of in Milestone 2. Making the game playable for people who only use autoresolve has led to the air combat being a little too easy for people who use only manual autoresolve, so we're going to be working to fix that over the next week or two.
AI Improvements
We've also started upgrading the AI this month. We begun by focusing on the civilian AI, as they currently don't behave in a very realistic way - as MANY players have noticed! I'm not sure if we'll have a patch ready for Milestone 2, but if not then we should have noticeable improvements in place for Milestone 3.
Additionally, many of the issues we've found with the civilian AI were caused by problems with the general AI model - which means fixing them will make the aliens a bit smarter too!
Loading Times & Unity Upgrade
Another thing we've been actively working on is improving loading times, with the eventual goal of reducing load times by roughly 50%. The good news is that we're making steady progress here, but the bad news is that players are unlikely to see any improvements until Milestone 3.
This month we experimented with stripping some further data out of our saved game format and found this sped up loading times by 25%-30% on our current (very outdated) version of Unity. However, when we tested this change in a more modern version of Unity, we found something interesting: load times were sped up by 25%-30% even if we disabled our change. It turns out recent versions of Unity have optimised that part of their loading process already.
As upgrading Unity will also bring a lot of other improvements to the game (e.g. better performance, proper support for borderless window mode, etc), we're planning to do that as part of our plans for Milestone 3. In the meantime, we're working on multithreading as a way to deliver the remaining ~25% loading time reduction.
Conclusion
Although there's plenty of smaller things I could talk about, I'll end things here. I think we've had a productive month overall, and personally I've particularly enjoyed seeing progress towards fixing some of the largest remaining problems raised by players at launch (slow loading times, bad civilian AI, the air combat needing more work).

Enhance the visual effects of two story battles within the game, and undertake a complete redesign of one battle.
Additionally, introduced two brand-new event maps, coupled with two accompanying side quests.

We enhanced the victory screen and reward system, bringing a fresh look and improved functionality.
Optimize character deployment points for a balanced battle scenario.
Implemented the skill feature of area damage and integrated it into the battle menu's skill menu.

General
Re-test the build on a low-end PC to verify if large maps lead to any frame drops.
Added a variety of accessories that players can purchase in the in-game store. These accessories offer a stats boost, enabling players to further customize their heroes within the game.

Improve the visual details in the skills, especially those related to destruction and damage effects in the area where the skill was used.
Reactive shortcut designed to instantly end the battle. This is available for beta testing purposes only.

The level-up system has been redesigned, and development points have been removed. Now, characters will level up based on their own planned direction. This decision was made to ensure balance in the game.
During battle, a new condition called Jisu's Blessing has been introduced.
Excitingly, Pita together with Archer will be introducing the soldier recruitment system in the upcoming update! So be sure to look forward to it!

We've increased the image quality for Tlos and Hydra, making them even more visually stunning.
