It's official. We're now on Steam. How exciting! So go and smash that wishlist if you're as excited as we are. Every bit of exposure helps and we're now at that stage where we need your support.
Please take the time to spread the news about our upcoming play test with friends, streamers, and anyone that may happen to find that spark of interest in FreeJack; it's this type of community engagement that we need to drive this project into full-blown execution.
Reminder that the next open beta will be exclusively on Steam, servers will go live November 18, 2023, at 00:00 UTC, so clear your calendars for that!
It goes without saying that we couldn't have made it this far in the game without your interest in our work. It's our greatest pleasure to once again have the experience of playing alongside each and every one of you at the open beta play test.
Welcome back, Time Travellers! We reached the second update of Chronos Builder: Wishing Well. And with it, we bring the last tool upgrade unlocked via stretch goals: Custome Biomes! Along side new additions and bugfixing. Remember, all this new content is free for all user of Chronos Builder, regardless of whether they own Wishing Well or not. Read on to see what's coming up!
1.- Custome Biomes
Do you find the current biomes sets restrictives or lacking? Not anymore! Now, you can create your own custom textures sets! Combine up to four textures from different biomes and redesign the terrain as you like. Your sets will be saved alonside your maps, and you can make as many as you can, up to a maximum of fifty.
2.- Deep Waters
A new liquid joins the team! Deep Waters comes as an alternative to the original water liquid from the Terrain tool. This version comes with a more realistic depth coloring, giving the impresion of a vast mass of water. So, now your seas and oceans will look more authentic on your campaigns. Who knows what lurks beneath that surface...
3.- Linux: Verified Proton Compatibility
Good news for Linux users! We know that the waiting for a Chronos Builder native version is getting long, as our progress on it is getting quite difficult. Meanwhile, we have verified that both Chronos and Wishing Well work consistently using Steam Proton compatibility tool. Just go to the game Properties in its Steam page and select Compatibility -> Force the use of a especific Steam Play compatibility tool. Pick the lastest version of Proton et voilá! We ask you to leave a report in ProtonDB, in order to help other linux users who want to use Chronos in their linux system.
4.- What's coming next?
As it's been mentioned at the beginning of the update, all the core gameplay features promised in the campaign have been released. Leaving only the new assets and biomes as our next goals. Coming next on our roadmap is the Western setting, coming with +80 new assets, natures props and the Rocky Desert biome. See you in the next update!

Some of the refunds have mentioned too much lag, specifically for lower-end computers. Unfortunately, I learnt about this quite late after release because I wasn't aware of the refund notes section of Steam and did not find performance concerns in the Steam community section :( So I apologise for taking a long time to issue this patch!
However, I finally got around to introducing some new graphics options to significantly improve performance (up to 3x more FPS) for slower computers. The new options are:
- Fog distance (small / normal / far) - Grass quality (low / high)
Using the low variants of these new settings can now give you up to 3 times more FPS than previously possible, while still keeping the cozy and warm charm of the game :)
The next big content patch - called 'Fortifications' - has been in the works for a while and is coming in November. This is just a small patch to address this issue while the main patch is under development.
Really excited for the Fortifications update, so stay tuned!
We've just released a second hotfix for the Treacherous Tides update, now with a longer list of changes to address issues discovered since the update's release. Please be sure to update your game to the latest version, and see the full list of changes just below.
v1.1.19.3
- Fixed shrapnel from flak cannon ammo always launching upwards. - Fixed wall damage shrapnel going through walls and being a little excessive overall. - Fixes to pressure distribution logic: fixes pressure sometimes being lethal in breached rooms that weren't full of water. - Fixed clients not regaining control of their braindead character after rejoining if the character's taken any amount of damage while braindead. - Fixes to inconsistent stack sizes (e.g. certain ammo types stacking up to 12 in character inventories, but only 8 holdable/wearable items like backpacks and toolbelts. - Fixed console errors when switching subs with circuit boxes on board. - Fixed items that are inside a container that doesn't get transferred getting duplicated during item transfer when switching subs. - Fixed bots not cleaning up circuit boxes from the floor. - Fixed stack size being displayed incorrectly in the tooltip when dragging a stack of items to an already-occupied slot. - Fixed nav terminal's docking button not working if the signal is routed from the terminal to the docking port through a circuit box. - Fixed double-clicking a component while a circuit box is equipped making the component vanish inside the circuit box. - Fixed chat messages sent when accusing someone as a traitor not triggering the spam filter. - Fixed connection names not being translated in circuit boxes (always showed up in English). - Fixed right-side crew panel overlapping with the mission panel in the PvP mode round summary. - Fixed depleted and fulgurium fuel rods stacking up to 32 (should be 8 like all other fuel rods).
Modding: - Added "UseHumanAI" property to characters (can be used to enable the human AI on characters other than humans). While using the human AI on non-humans isn't a fully supported or tested feature, it was previously possible to do that by creating a human prefab using a different species than human, but that no longer worked as of the Treacherous Tides update. - Attachable holdable items don't count as "HoldableOrWearableInventories". Fixes e.g. tanks only stacking up to 1 in things like movable cabinets and shelves. Does not affect any vanilla content. - Fixed fabricator reducing the condition of all the available ingredients if the crafting recipe reduces condition instead of consuming the whole item. - Fixed TagAction continuing in some situations when it can't find targets, even if it's been configured not to with the "ContinueIfNoTargetsFound" attribute.

As some of you have noticed, whether through our new guide interface or from images in the trailer for our upcoming single-account server, WAKFU in HD is now a reality!
It's a recurring request from the community, and for a while now we've been wanting to upgrade the graphics in WAKFU. As you can imagine, this is a time-consuming project that we've been working on for a while already; we had to reexport every single graphical element in the game (characters, mobs, interactive elements, etc.).
Currently, HDmode is incomplete. We're nowhere near done improving the game environments*. Originally we wanted to wait and reveal the finished product. That said, in light of your excitement when the WAKFU single-account trailer came out, we've decided to release a starting HD pack with the following animated elements:
characters
monsters
equipment
resources
interactive elements
pets and mounts
* Environments will be added in a future update.
With regard to interfaces, we hear your feedback and are aware of the issues raised. Improvements to interfaces will not be included in this HD pack; it's an area we're working on bit by bit, as this project can't be properly completed in one go.
Since images are better than a thousand words:
HOW DO YOU ENABLE WAKFU HD?
HD mode is enabled by default!
ANECDOTE RELATED TO WAKFU HD
We also wanted to share a little anecdote. When Update 1.74 (Shustuft Crust) came out, one of our NPCs was exported in HD, which wasn't right. This generated a bug ticket that makes us crack up internally, because after forcing the NPC to export in SD and when developing WAKFU HD, the NPC in question was then the only NPC to not appear in HD. Here's a snapshot of the ticket:
I want to say sorry to everyone... I made a mistake in my STEAM operation, and as a result, the game was released earlier than 10/30. Mainly because I misjudged the time difference and forgot that there is still October 31st. As a result, it was officially put on sale just now. I originally wanted to use these two days to test it more... Now that it has been put on the shelves, it seems that there is no way to go back and take it off the shelves, so I can only wish you all a happy game!
