This announcement will catalogue all the hotfixes we have released for patch 5.1.0 that came in with the Necromancer career, and will be kept current with the latest hotfix release added to the top of the patch notes.


Hotfix 5.1.5 - November 3rd
Fixes

  • Fixed bug where hordes occasionally stop appearing.
  • Fixed bug where terror events sometimes got stuck.

Hotfix 5.1.4 - November 1st

Tweaks

  • Changed it so that instead of being hidden, the FSR 2.2 and DLSS settings are shown but greyed out when playing on an incompatible system.
    Dev note: Currently, a generic "Unsupported version" error message is shown. This will be replaced in a future version to show more information.
  • The Sharpness Filter setting is now compatible with upscaling technology and is no longer greyed-out when upscaling is enabled.
  • The Necromancer bot is now more restrictive with her ability use. She will not use her ability unless she's down to 4 or less skeletons, or she's being overwhelmed by enemies.
  • (Chaos Wastes) As Necromancer, having both the 'Dread Seneschal' and 'Barrow Blades' talents will now make Sienna have the army composition of Dread Seneschal, with the added benefits of AoE DoT and DoT on attack from Barrow Blades (as opposed to the Barrow Blades talent overriding the Dread Seneschal talent). The ULTIMATE army of the dead...
  • Attack commands can now be cancelled by using the Icon of Death's weapon special. This also makes it possible to cancel the attack command when using the 'Dread Seneschal' talent.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where Necromancer skeletons made the game easier by making the AI systems think there were more enemies than there actually were. They are friends, dammit.
  • Fixed a bug where using a career weapon ability while drinking a potion allowed an infinite career ability exploit.
  • Patched up breaking changes in damage calculation that made the sanctioned mod Armory no longer work.
  • Picking up potions & grimoires is no longer possible when carrying the Skull of Blosphoros.
  • Fixed a rare network related crash when someone leaves the game.
  • Fix client crash if the player who revives them leaves the game at the same time as they are revived.
  • (Chaos Wastes) Fixed bug where "Asuryan's Wrath" and "Manann's Tempest" traits dealt friendly fire damage to Necromancer skeletons.
  • Fixed rare crash when Nurglings get scared. You meanies :(
  • Fixed unintended change where all free bomb effects causes player to equip the extra bomb. Now the previously wielded weapon is properly equipped after throwing a bomb (except for when under the endles bomb potion effect in Chaos Wastes)
  • Necromancer is now immune to Blosphoros' shenanigans as intended.
  • Added more checks at startup to avoid the game booting with invalid graphics settings that could result in getting a black screen.
  • Added a failsafe so the settings menu does not crash when settings are set to invalid values eg. due to external editing.
    Dev note: Please do keep in mind that externally editing settings is not officially supported, but you may do them at your own risk.
  • The Soulstealer Staff will no longer hit players that are very close to Sienna. You may still choose to hit them, though, if you're evil.
  • Fixed the Ensorcelled Reaper's weapon special attack not granting THP.
  • Fixed a bug where the Foot Knight's charge didn't knock down enemies when immediately cancelled.
  • Fixed a bug where shield skellies could not be commanded to attack if there were no hammer skellies alive.
  • Fixed an issue where Necromancer could get incompatible boons, such as Ualapt's Cunning, stagger talents, etc.
  • Fixed a bug where Waystalker's Serrated Arrows was overriding Hagbane's DoT.
  • Fixed a bug where Waystalker's Serrated Arrows was overriding Moonfire Bow's DoT if the player plays as client.
  • Fixed FSR2 quality settings not being persisted across sessions under specific conditions, resulting in getting less performance gains than expected.
  • Fixed a shader issue that made the lava found in some Chaos Wastes and Karak maps flicker.
  • Temporary health degeneration is no longer affected by damage reduction buffs.
  • Fixed occasional crash when completing a map or the host leaves while Ranger Veteran's smoke bomb is active.


Fixes
Hotfix 5.1.3
  • Berserkers and Plague Monks no longer track players when they’re invisible.
  • Specials no longer track players when they’re invisible.
  • Fixed a bug that made certain enemies deal less damage than they’re supposed to (Notably, Plague Monks/Berserkers and Infantry).
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when hotjoining a mission that had a javelin or throwing axe with an illusion applied, but the player’s inventory had not fully synced.
  • Fixed a crash when hotjoining into the end event of Tower of Treachery.
  • Fixed a crash on Wizard’s Tower due to scripted projectiles. Olesya is up to her old tricks again!
  • Fixed rare server crash when leaving a mission when Necromancer is in the game.
  • Fixed a crash when grabbing the Necromancer’s ability information scrollbar on the hero selection screen with your mouse.
  • Fixed a re-introduced frame-perfect host crash. The game would crash when skeletons ran out of valid enemy targets the frame before they finish an attack.
Hotfix 5.1.2
Tweaks
  • The Necromancer’s Icon of Death is no longer shown in the ally frame UI thingie, it’s now back to only showing whether the ally has a potion or not.
Fixes
  • Fixed the dummies in the Keep being too fat and having big collisions.
  • Fixed hot join crash if a Ranger Veteran with the ‘Exhilirating Vapours’ used their ability that session.
  • Fixed Bardin being able to stealth infinitely with the ‘Surprise Guest’ talent by re-entering the ability.
  • Fixed Ranger Veteran with ‘Exhilirating Vapours’ talent showing the wrong amount of ability stacks.
  • Fixed small enemies swallowing bombs when thrown at them.
  • Fixed occasional frame perfect host crash when a defend command is issued the frame before an attack command swing finishes.
  • Fixed bug where Necromancer lost Icon of Death upon drinking a Potion of Endless Bombs. You can all play Chaos Wastes again!
  • Fixed Necromancer not losing Grimoire on death.
  • Fixed Engineer not losing additional bombs on death.
  • Fixed Handmaiden bleed dash talent damaging Necromancer skeletons. She’s now fully accepted that they are friends. :)
  • Fixed a crash in Fort Shakalaka related to the end event cannonballs.
  • Fixed a bug where Necromancer would keep her potion when giving it away.
  • Fixed that bug where the challenge “Unrestful Bonefire” could only progress one point per level.
  • Fixed a crash when hotjoining into the end event of Tower of Treachery.

  • Added more failsafes for Twitch mode not working.
  • Fixed occasional host crash from skeleton targets dying
  • Fixed Soulstealer Staff not benefiting from the “Heat Sink” trait
  • Fixed a crash when hotjoining into game with a Sienna that has the ‘Lost Souls’ talent.
  • Fixed crashes related to French localization.
  • Fixed crash when Necromancer bot used the Soulstealer Staff’s ‘Soul Rip’ attack.
  • Fixed a crash from throwing Morgrim’s Bomb on enemies.
  • Fixed a crash when the Necromancer commanded her skeletons to defend in the exact moment they died.
  • Fixed frames from Chaos Wastes challenges being hidden unless you own the Forgotten Relics
  • Fixed a crash that happened when hotjoining while a resumeable interaction is in progress.
  • Fixed a crash that could happen while starting a resumable interaction as a client related to latency and prediction.
  • Fixed a crash with the souls from the Necromancer’s ‘Lost Souls’ talent when targeting Wizards Tower skulls.
  • Fixed the souls from the Necromancer’s ‘Lost Souls’ talent having issues hitting targets.
  • Chaos Wastes: Fixed Rhya’s Thorns boon crashing upon breaking shields.
  • Fixed crash for when a Necromancer left the game while a projectile from the Soulstealer Staff was chasing enemies.
  • Fixed rare crash occurring when a player hot-joined into a moving elevator, while a Globadier made a charge run towards the player.
  • Fixed some crashes related to Sister of the Thorns’ walls.
  • Fixed a crash when Morgrim’s Bomb stuck to an enemy.
Xenonauts 2 - Goldhawk
This update is also only accessible by switching to our Experimental branches (instructions on how to do so here) - although note they have slower load times and worse performance than normal builds due to the extra logging they contain!

This build breaks save games, so you'll need to start a new campaign. If anyone wants to continue your current campaign, I've switched 2.07c to the Experimental Legacy branch and you can switch over if you want to keep playing that version.

Gameplay & Balance Changes:
  • Strategy:
    • Updated research text for: Autopsy: Cleaner Agent, Autopsy: Cleaner Soldier, Probe UFO, Interrogation: General.
    • The soldier portrait is now shown on hover on the Soldier Equip and Armory soldier lists.
    • On the Soldier Equip screen, if you drag an item out of a slot and drop it into empty space, it now disappears and returns to the base stores rather than snapping back to its previous location.
    • The "Commence Research" button on the Research screen is now visually disabled if you have no research available.
  • Tactical:
    • Stun Damage now heals more quickly (the greater of 25% of current Stun HP, or 5 HP).
    • Throwing a grenade through a window now shatters it.
    • Added a 3D model for a military officer. One variant of this is used for The General in the ATLAS Base mission, while another is used for the Cleaner Leaders on VIP Elimination missions.
    • The General now has a little bit of dialogue when you encounter him in the ATLAS Base mission.
    • Updated the Combat Shield animations so it is held straight (especially when crouching).
  • Air Combat:
    • Phantom Interceptor now correctly unlocks off the Destroyer UFO (alongside the Dragonfly), rather than the Abductor UFO.
    • Angel Interceptor build cost reduced to $500,000 from $600,000.
    • Phantom Interceptor build cost reduced to $800,000 from $1,000,000.
    • Increased Damage on torpedoes.
    • Slightly increased Armour Destruction on missiles.
    • Decreased damage, firing arc and projectile speed on UFO Scout Beam.
    • Decreased damage and projectile speed on Alien Destroyer Beam weapon.
    • Decreased damage on Alien Fighter, Alien Interceptor, and Alien Probe Beam weapons.
    • Decreased damage on Alien Bomber Fusion Artillery weapon.
    • Decreased hitpoints on Alien Observer and Alien Bomber.
    • Decreased armor on Alien Abductor.
    • Rush replacement costs for interceptors reduced.
    • Reduced cost of tier 1 interceptor equipment (e.g. Sidewinder Missiles) to $25,000 from $50,000.
    • Reduced cost of tier 2 interceptor equipment to $100,000 from $120,000.
    • Reduced cost of Laser Lance to $125,000 from $250,000.
Bugfixes:
  • Fixed clicking MARS during deployment phase crashing the game (should be fixed for real this time).
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when entering the air combat.
  • Fixed an issue where you could become unable to equip items on a specific plane.
  • Fixed the Ctrl+Shift shot preview mode being cancelled on hovering over an enemy.
  • Fixed teleporters triggering if you do not deliberately end your move on them.
  • Fixed the Counterfire achievement being unlocked by the aliens accidentally killing one of their own units with reaction fire.
  • Fixed the dropship icon on the Geoscape frequently not registering clicks properly.
  • Fixed the game displaying the rank of individually hired engineers / scientists as "ZIV."
  • Fixed several typos in the game text, including a broken link for Low Recoil on the Lasers Xenopedia project.
  • Fixed UFO Hull Plating unlocking two Alloy Plating projects.
  • Fixed the Flares not appearing for a soldier if you Tab to them after having a vehicle selected.

Welcome to our STEAM SCREAM: THE REVENGE update! In this update, we are thrilled to share a number of updates to our combat loop and interactions:

Spell Wheel

Based on community feedback, we have addressed the desire for an alternative spell reload mechanic. Therefore, we have introduced a Spell Wheel that appears on each hand and streamlines the reloading of spells, eliminating the need to have the Book hover in front of you during combat. If you still prefer grabbing spells from the Book to reload, don't worry, we've kept that feature.

Light Melee
Additionally, we have implemented a light melee mechanic into the game. We believe in the potential of this addition and have taken steps in its initial implementation to ensure a balance that doesn't overshadow spell shooting. We encourage you to try this new feature. Discover the different types of weapons available, some with unique effects and explore different ways to attack and defend.

  • Added a Spell Wheel as a new method to reload spells in combat

Approaching Infinity - IBOL17
If you've been following this game for a while, you know something about me:
I don't like bugs!
So it's only a matter of time until I go on a fixing spree.


Here are further changes to all public branches, version 1.8i2:
  • Fixed "cargo vacuum doesn't pick up credits and supplies if cargo bay is full". now it does.
  • Fixed "gravity pulse (and cryo blast) doesn't give damage type knowledge on kill". now it does.
  • Fixed "level up pop-up appears during combat". Now it doesn't.
  • Probably eliminated picking up invisible items to be "marked for transport". Haven't found why they're spawning.
  • On sprawling planets, your location N/E/S/W will be more clearly displayed.
  • Fixed a rare error in race's "last words"
  • Tried to find and prevent some ways that null items might be spawning.
  • Created an "exclusion list" for things that some monsters will pick up on away missions. (not only firax objects, but it looks like they could pick up transit tubes and radiation tiles!) should be fixed.
  • When you come out of a cave and find yourself on the north/east/etc. area of a planet, and the surface wasn't supposed to have those, path arrows should now spawn, and you can return to the landing site.
  • Fixed an error that caused quest entities to re-spawn after they've been completed.
  • I fixed a bug where some pre-designed shipwreck levels would generate totally surrounded by floor.
  • Fixed a bug where away team icons would briefly flash white during certain area transitions.
  • I attempted to address the improper deletion of files from victories and deaths.
  • Hopefully also fixed some weird issues when going up and down cave levels.
  • Also working on getting the game to register the fact that you've destroyed all nanostructure on a planet or shipwreck, thereby averting the nanopocalypse locally.
  • I am further working to eliminate the random "marked for transport" bugs, because I just got one.
  • Tried to prevent your ship from blowing up because you switched armor :O
  • Fixed a bug where petting a bunny while wielding a zapper would trigger the adjacent attacks of that weapon.

Yomi 2 - Leontes


Minor Yomi 2 patch, this time with many new UI (new card animations and tooltips) and AI improvements (we’re closer than ever to being able to play against a Virtual Thelo!). Check out the full patch notes below.

UI Improvements

--New card animations happen in several combat-reveal cases:

Projectile hits

Two projectiles negate each other

Projectile gets blocked

High attack hits a low block

--Added a mouse-clickable [Back] button, for phases like Exchange, Ability, Power Up, and Gem Storm where you can go back one step by pressing the Back button. This lets you play with mouse only, without needing to press the Esc keyboard key to back out from these phases.

--In many situations, when you try to play something invalid, you now get a small red popup telling you why it didn't work.

--When you mouse over the character innate icons, the tooltip now tells you that you can click to view the character card. (This is for the mouse only, in gamepad mode the stats card automatically shows when you focus the innate icon, so the new tooltip text doesn't appear in gamepad mode.)

--When using a 16:10 aspect ratio (rather than 16:9), the combo icons at the bottom of the screen during the combo playback are positioned better.

--The mouse-clickable back button in career screens is now easier to see.

--Two new tiny buttons in the bottom-right corner of the main menu, leading to our Discord chat and Twitter page.

AI Improvements

--Menelker's AI is now better at avoiding getting hit while his Deathstrike's countdown is close to killing the opponent.

--When you play as Menelker and land Deathstrike on a bot, the bot is better at trying to survive and delay the countdown.

--Jaina now wants to fetch back her blocks and disable Recklessness when below 35 life.

--Bots now correctly understand that they shouldn't waste combo cards that do zero damage during the blue gem's Legal Limit gem storm.

--The "circle with X" close button in the upper right of the deck viewer is now 4K resolution rather than absurdly too low res.

Bug Fixes

--Fixed a bug where undo was allowed (but shouldn't be) when Menelker uses special moves during combos. This triggers the Bleeding Wounds innate which causes the opponent to randomly discard, and undoing would give different rolls of that discard and also leaked info.

--Fixed bad "<color=grey>" markup in the friends screen's player dropdown. Now it correctly shows the option in grey text (to show that it's disabled), instead of writing that markup on the screen.

--Updated Menelker's strategy card because it had text that wrongly referred to an old version of his ability card.

--Career: Fixed an incorrect priority between Patient Aaron messages, where he could send a message intended for when you lose to him after you win against him, or vice-versa.

--When the AI opponent has to Wild Swing, its intents pie chart now correctly just reflects the remaining deck's composition, instead of showing the default fallback 40/30/20/10 chart.

--Fixed a crash when viewing the opponent's known hand cards when they're all known, and the opponent's opener is face down on the table.

--When you "Save and Quit" between tournament games in an unfinished set, you'll now resume at the correct place rather than wrongly resuming at the start of the first game.
