Our Halloween Update is finally here!
This year, you can enjoy a new cosmetic crate, daily login rewards, and breakable scarecrows!



While this fix focuses primarily on backend and server-side changes, we've now also added a way to purchase additional Artifacts, for when you don't have enough time to get all the cosmetics you want! Purchasing options can be found on the "Store" page in game and are entirely optional.

Don't fret, there have been no changes to the way you normally earn Artifacts - you're still able to get them by just playing the game!

The release of Risk of Rain Returns will not be the only way we're celebrating 10 years of the franchise - we will be taking a walk down memory lane and looking back at what got us here - and our friends at Gearbox will also be talking about what’s ahead!

For today, let's take a look at the final new Survivor joining the roster for Risk of Rain Returns.



Revealed in the intro cinematic, the Pilot of the Contact Light is joining the survivor roster for Risk of Rain Returns - bringing with him a highly mobile and context-sensitive playstyle unlike any other survivor in the game.





The workhorse of Pilot’s kit is his standard attack Clusterfire - a triple burst shot where the third shot pierces enemies.

Great for damaging groups of enemies to set them up for your other abilities or to finish them off once you’ve already rained damage upon them from the skies..





…speaking of which the key to success when playing as Pilot is mastery of his utility ability - Rapid Deployment.





Launch into the air and deploy your parachute to glide while unleashing your full arsenal of weapons on the enemies below.





Your secondary attack Target Acquired is a diagonal blast dependent on your current airborne status. If you’re in the air it will auto target on the enemies diagonally below you. If you’re on the ground it will auto target airborne enemies.





Don’t worry about there not being as many flying enemies in the game - your special ability Airstrike can solve that particular problem.

Dropped below you if airborne - or placed at your feet with a backwards dash if you’re grounded - the Airstrike hits multiple times both damaging enemies and launching them into the air.





This gives you the perfect chance to juggle them with Target Acquired and finish them off with Clusterfire.





As with all the other survivors Pilot has three alternate abilities to unlock and discover when the game is released on November 8th.

- Fixed incredibly strange interaction where you could influence your opponent's hitstun and knockback by selecting different moves during a combo.
- Hitboxes that are triggered during throw animations can now apply screen rumble and hitstop (where applicable). Mostly gameplay is unaffected.

A new playable character KUMIHO has been added.



About KUMIHO

The KUMIHO, a traditional Korean monster, is a fox with nine tails.
There is a story that it charms man with its Beautiful appearance and eats their liver.

About Skills



HEART - The KUMIHO charms enemies.
Enchanted enemies will betray and attack allies around him.



FOX FIRE - Summons foxfire around the KUMIHO and automatically attacks nearby enemies.
After a certain period of time, it is recharged and you can continue the battle comfortably.



FIRE FOX - Summons a pack of flaming foxes running forward.
When a fox encounters an enemy, it burns and inflicts damage to the enemy.
If you upgrade the skill, the fox count will increase and you can defeat enemies with AoE.

Special

As explained above, KUMIHO is known to love liver.
When defeating a monster, there is a certain probability that a liver will be generated instead of a coin.
When you acquire a certain number of livers, you will awaken and the skills you have acquired will be strengthened.



HEART- Upgraded to AoE skills.
FOX FIRE - The charging time changes to 0.
FIRE FOX - Even if it encounters an enemy, it does not burn and continues to run.

In fact, we’ve been so blown away by the sheer quality of your in-game photography, that we feel it's only right we share your talents with the world. Ergo, the Lords of the Fallen ‘Photography Challenge’...

On Thursday 2nd November, we’ll be selecting our favourite in-game user screenshot to showcase front-and-centre on the prestigious Nasdaq Building in Times Square, New York. Live from 26th Nov, your screenshot will be in circulation for no less than two whole weeks, with an estimated 85,000 people walking through the intersection every day. We’re talking Umbral-level of eyeballs!

In short, a photo that encapsulates your experience of Lords of the Fallen, whether that’s an epic adventure, a harrowing crusade, or a white-knuckle expedition through the nightmarish realm of the dead.

Due to the nature of the digital billboard, your image needs to work in portrait ratio, and we will need you to provide a high-resolution render (so keep your original copy safe!).

- Tweet/X us using #LordsOfTheFallen (for a chance to also be retweeted)
- Be at least eighteen years of age to be considered, and you’ll need to sign a waiver if selected

You have until midnight Pacific Time on the 1st Nov, with the selected photo announced by the end of that week.

It's kinda crazy that CFP was made an entire year ago already! For a birthday "gift," I've added a few things, and like a real developer, broke others.

1. CFP on Amazon Appstore!
(btw I made cross-platform before other, more popular games...)

2. Update!
The update includes a revamp to the old upgrade system, and it's now a WEB (because upgrade trees are boring)! I also broke full screen... but I'll fix it later.

3. (most important to some people) I think achievements work now!
I don't know why they didn't work in the first place, but when I tested it, it worked.

4. Two new songs!
Upgrade web and finally options song!

That's all, and the next update is going to be even better...
