Throwback - lookonjon
Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a great October so far. We’re back with another update so let’s get into it!

New Level
Welcome to the Jungle! Well, a forest more accurately… and what a forest it is. This map has been a long time in the making and features some new more vertical gameplay sections. We’re still updating some of the target positions and haven’t finished the alternate paths quite yet, but this one is definitely one of our favorites so far.

We also added the tutorial level as it’s own stand alone zone on the main map. We kept wanting to play it without going through the actual tutorial bits so this seemed like a good way to do it. This one is fun (and possible) to get every single target. Should we add some kind of bonus if you do?

Grapple Hook
This is the first step of a larger expansion to the gameplay system. The goal is to add some more interactivity and discovery in the levels that impact your play style. The grapple hook (used by hitting the grab button to send it out) allows you to grab targets and throw them as well as grab objects like trashcan lids to use as a shield. It’s a new system so it still needs some fine tuning and we’re looking forward to getting your feedback to refine it.

Quick Graphics Note – sometimes when starting a new game the graphics can default to everything set at Epic, so if your game is chugging a bit make sure to adjust those graphic settings as needed.

What’s Next?
We’re making good progress on the rogue-like mode and aiming to get that into a beta state soon. It’s a total revamp of the game and includes a massive update to the shop, economy, and gameplay loop. Really excited to get that out and start getting feedback.

The final biome level is also underway so ideally that will be shipping with the next update alongside the rogue-like mode.

Of course, we still have plenty of optimizing and bug squashing to do, as well as honing the levels and adding polish like more sfx, interactions, etc. Building Throwback has been a labor of love and while we’re super proud of the progress we’ve made - there’s so much more we want to do like multiplayer and more game modes.

Again, a huge thank you for your support and feedback. Keep it coming and we’ll try to incorporate as much of it as we can!
