Approaching Valor's End
Last week, we unveiled our next major update releasing later this month, Valor's End! From quality-of-life improvements to major balance shifts, Khan and Nyx brought with them plenty of change to this dark yet fantastical version of the Realm! Instead of an Update Show, we opted for a shorter video format to highlight key parts of the patch. Check it out!
PTS: Please Test Stuff
We had a lovely time on PTS, with players digging deep into our larger-than-normal balance & discovering some fun issues and concerns. From immune but visible Seris, Saati generating far too much Ultimate, and Furia's range being a bit mid; there were tons of helpful catches!
We also are listening to feedback around some less-loved changes! Evie will not be coming to live with 2500+ health builds, and Imani deserves better than to be stuck in place. We'll share more adjustments from what we garnered in our full update notes near release, but until then review the PTS Notes!

Commander, the latest Situation Report has just arrived!
In this update we made the process of changing your profile picture more straightforward. The option to change your avatar is now highly visible, and we've confirmed that prompts will be clearly seen, no matter the color of your uploaded picture.
In addition, we addressed an issue where incorrect particle effects were displayed during naval combat. When your GPU settings are set to Medium-High and there's a naval battle, you'll see the correct water splash effects.
Finally, we fixed a formatting issue in Newspaper articles written over multiple lines. Now, texts will be formatted appropriately across separate lines or sentences as you'd expect.

BioGun has just completed an amazing month, first completing a highly successful closed beta, and then, as part of the SHMUP fest, the open demo. The response that we've received has left everyone in the team overjoyed at the heartwarming response from the ever-growing community.
So, what have we learned from the game sessions, and what do we think of everything? Read on to find out!
Witnessing the community expand and passionately engage in discussions about BioGun's development was a source of immense joy for the entire team. The enthusiasm from players provided a boost of motivation, and everyone involved cherished the opportunity to connect with gamers who shared their excitement for the project.
While we were always confident in the fun factor of BioGun, we were still amazed at the surge of excitement from everyone from our existing community members and the new people, those who discovered BioGun as part of the closed-beta and open demo campaigns. Frankly, the level of enthusiasm displayed has further fuelled our commitment to delivering a game that will meet and exceed everyone's expectations.
On the topic of the community, we want to thank everyone who not only took part in the playtests, but who also invested a huge amount of their own time to help us further improve BioGun with their extremely detailed feedback and bug reports. What's more, we were blown away by the community's resilience in the face of game bugs. We've seen many fantastic games turn sour due to bugs, however, despite encountering issues, testers continued to find joy in the game, underscoring the intrinsic appeal and potential of BioGun. Thanks to all of this, we were able to not only work on polishing the game but also hugely enjoy ourselves the entire time!
At this point, we want to give a very special shout-out to MegaMaster89, and Gleepot. When the closed beta started, we were not able to verify the game's performance on the Steam Deck as our main focus was on the PC version. Therefore, while we had hoped that the game would work on the Steam Deck, we knew that there would be issues. But then the Biogun Community Stepped up and took things into their own hands! A few of our members were able to get the game running on the Steam Deck, took notes of the bugs and issues that they encountered, and even jumped into voice chats with our team to help them (our team) properly understand and identify the issues.
The result of this? We were able to work on special fixes, optimizing BioGun for the Steam Deck!
A particularly delightful highlight was the reception to the "Critical Blaster chip." It was this item that led to a truly fantastic video, curtsy of lightning47 on our Discord server. Using this item, he was able to take on every boss in the demo, without taking a single hit! Want to see how he did it? Check it out here.

After Ludwig Ahgren announced the Mogul Chessboxing event in 2022, Matt reached out to let him know that he knew a thing or two about the hybrid sport. Lud then invited him to talk about it during his 50-hour glass box stream. The rest is history.
Fun fact: Mogul Chessboxing was cancelled this year due to legal reasons.
As a last resort to save the event, they sent Matt to Vegas with ONE day's notice to storm the annual Boxing association convention & talk about chessboxing and why it's safer than other sanctioned sports.

Since the last time, the game has evolved significantly. Numerous updates have been implemented, introducing various new features. These updates include the day-night cycle, a quest system, the ability to equip and sell items, the addition of a mouse system, and various other enhancements.
Many of these features are currently undergoing bug fixes and improvements.
Here is a list of the new features:
QUESTS: You can now take on two quests and complete them to earn experience. Currently, these are secondary and tutorial quests. DAY SYSTEM: Day cycles have been established. Some quests and events will only be available during specific times of the day. DAY AND NIGHT SYSTEM: The sun rises, and everything seems peaceful, but when it sets, and night falls, more powerful monsters appear. ENEMIES: Slain enemies return to life after a certain time. Once defeated, they reward you with money and, if you're lucky, equipment items or potions. EQUIPMENT: You can now don armor, which increases your health points. Rings can also be equipped, though they currently do not affect your attributes. Life potions restore 10 health points when you right-click with the mouse button. NPC VENDOR: The armorer NPC allows you to buy and sell items. CRITICAL HITS: It's now possible to perform critical hits on enemies. SHOOTING: Significant changes have been made to the shooting system. You can now shoot while jumping, aim in the air, shoot in a straight line, shoot at longer ranges, and deal more damage. POWERFUL SHOT: A powerful shot can be executed by holding down the left mouse button when your energy bar is at its maximum. This consumes all your energy. ROLL: Your character can now perform a forward roll, which consumes a portion of your energy bar. ACHIEVEMENTS: Achievements have been introduced and can be activated using the "A" key on the AZERTY keyboard for now. MAP: You have access to a map of your current area. It displays save points, points of interest, and your ongoing or completed quests. KEYBOARD + MOUSE: Mouse integration has been implemented, altering the keyboard layout. Currently, only the AZERTY keyboard is supported. List of visual improvements:
Character enhancements. Background fog effects. Sun and moonlight. Gradual decrease in light intensity as night falls. Many bugs have been resolved.

Please note that we are only able to restore items that disappeared after the Patch 6.0.3!
