Greetings, Deceit 2 players! As we get ready for the chills and thrills of the spooky season, we're cooking up some monstrous updates this October.
In this post we'll be diving into all of our in-development updates. Expect a steady flow of notable updates throughout the month—including our highly-anticipated new Role system—culminating in our Halloween festivities that start on the 26th of October.
But first! An Early Bird bonus
Anyone who purchases Deceit 2 by October 25th will continue to receive a bonus 600 in-game shillings as a token of our gratitude. On behalf of the whole team here at World Makers, thank you for your continued support and invaluable feedback. This is just the start of a very exciting journey.
Later this month – Roles
Roles in Deceit 2 are secret objectives that add strategic depth to gameplay. Players complete these objectives, earning extra rewards. Roles make every decision critical and add new win conditions - can you win the Ritual?
The Game Master has been scheming, and the result is nothing short of the most monumental, game-altering update since our launch. We're thrilled—no, ecstatic—to pull back the curtain on Roles. This isn't just a new layer of paint; it's a labyrinth of new possibilities, secret objectives, and treacherous win conditions that will turn every corridor into a mind game and every decision into a potential trap.
But that's not all. Roles inject a whole new level of strategy into the gameplay. Now, every move you make, every alliance you form, and every accusation you hurl could be influenced by hidden objectives. It's not just about survival anymore; it's about mastering your Role while deciphering others, adding a complex new dimension to your strategies.
Available Roles and Their Objectives
Here's a sneak peek at some of the Roles we've been testing:
Human
Innocent: Complete tasks along with the other Humans to escape.
Guardian: Preemptively chose someone to protect, saving them from execution in the In-Between.
Warden: Banish any player, but beware—if they're Human, you’ll die too.
Masquerade: Appear as one of the Terrors and perform some actions otherwise exclusive to them.
Seer: Predict who will banish you and, if correct, resurrect yourself later in the game.
And more to come...
The Others
Terror: Eliminate all the Humans.
Soulbound: Choose a partner, survive together until the final few.
Phantom: Get voted out by the group.
And more to come…
We're incredibly excited about the introduction of Roles, but we also know that balance is key to making this feature truly shine. That's why we're committed to an ongoing dialogue with you, our community, as we roll out these game-changing updates. If you have a great idea for a role, we wanna hear it.
Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we'll be actively seeking it through various channels, including in-game surveys, community forums, and social media. We'll also be conducting rigorous testing to ensure that each Role adds a balanced, yet unpredictable, element to the game.
The Halloween Event
Spooky Season is here and the first ever Deceit 2 Halloween event is fast approaching! Alongside three limited-time edition cosmetics for Beck, Jak and Priya (<3), Millhaven Asylum will undergo a seasonal sprucing that’s guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit.
To our surprise, the Souls of the Ritual have quite the sweet tooth; collect Candy coins throughout the event to unlock any-and-all of the unique event cosmetics - we’ll be outlining the exact details in a future post. In the meanwhile, get the pumpkins carved and treat buckets ready for Thursday 26th October.
Trials and Tournaments
The ultimate test of deduction and deception is well underway. Deceit 2's first tournament mode will have you playing for a final high score across five back-to-back games, with scoring being based through a wide array of factors; it's not just winning or losing that'll get you the big points...
We're having a blast playing these tense, competitive games in-house, which often come down to clutch final plays... keep your eyes peeled for more news soon!
So come knock on the Ritual door with us this Halloween; just cross your fingers that he never says ‘trick’... *evil laugh*
It’s been a year since the gates to the City of Aphes opened to the brave explorers! We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has embarked on this adventure with us and shared their epic stories.
To celebrate this special milestone, we have prepared a lot of exciting things for you!
Patch 1.08 is now LIVE

Return to the City of Aphes and be prepared to face the formidable foes of the past once again to win a unique reward!
This Boss Rush Mode is a gauntlet challenge that allows you to rematch the deadly bosses of Asterigos in an exhilarating series of battles. The reward for completing the first four series is the shining armour of Gladiatrix Battlegear, a new outfit that becomes account-wide once unlocked!
To access Gauntlet of the Stars, you will need to progress until you have defeated the final boss of the main story or anytime in NG+ once you can enter the Shelter. Interact with the Gryphon statue in the Shelter to open up the menu and select the challenge.
There will be no death penalty if you are defeated in the Gauntlet. Additionally, you can bring any items or weapons into the series. So, fight dirty like a real gladiator, as the enemies show no mercy either.

Prepare to take the battle to a new metropolis in Urzikstan, the new big Battle Royale map announced at Call of Duty®: Next, set to arrive in Call of Duty: Warzone™ in December as part of Season 01.
The massive, free-to-play offering leverages the latest technology as well as learnings from millions of players and over three and a half years of Call of Duty: Warzone. Featuring new gameplay features and an expanded narrative, Urzikstan represents the next chapter in Call of Duty, beginning with the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® III on November 10.
For full details on everything covered at Call of Duty: Next, see our official recap of the event here.
The Lay of the Land
Positioned in Western Asia on the eastern border of the Black Sea, Urzikstan plays an important role in the Modern Warfare series. Bordering the Republic of Adal — the location of Call of Duty: Warzone’s Al Mazrah map — Urzikstan has only recently come out from under the thumb of dictator Roman Barkov due to a joint operation between the CIA, SAS, and the Urzikstan Liberation Force founded by Farah Karim following the Tobrak Prison Break.
Though no longer occupied by General Barkov, Urzikstan faces new threats in the form of the Allegiance and the ultranationalist forces commanded by Viktor Zakhaev, both factions recently bolstered by Barkov’s remaining soldiers seeking vengeance after their defeat.
As part of an elite, multinational force, it’s up to you and your fellow Operators to determine the next chapter of the beleaguered region. It’s a difficult task, but one we know you’re up to.
To start, let’s go over the lay of the land with a preview of all 11 major points of interest, starting from the north and working our way down. These sites mark your next destination for various operations, from squad versus squad Battle Royale matches to Ground War missions and more.
Urzikstan’s 11 Major Points of Interest
Levin Resort
Tourists and business travelers alike used to flock to the Levin Resort, enjoying the poolside seating and abundant shopping and services within. It’s now a vacant site, the nearby statues of General Barkov defaced following his downfall. Tread carefully through the resort courtyard, where vantage points from multiple angles present danger to those below.
Popov Power
The workhorse of Urzikstan, Popov Power supplies energy to the growing region. Fight around the plant’s cooling towers and containment structures and utilize the full run of its industrial buildings to flank and ambush enemy squads.
Orlov Military Base
Missile silos lie at the heart of the Orlov Military Base alongside bunkers and facilities built into the mountainous terrain that dominates the northern portion of the map. Scattered barricades throughout provide squads with a means of defense when pushing into the area.
Seaport District
Hit up the docks of the Seaport District, where rusty fishing boats lie anchored, waiting for their next venture into the Black Sea. Eliminate enemies by taking up a position in one of the surrounding maritime buildings or use a more nautical approach by diving into the water and repositioning to an ideal vantage point.
Urzikstan Cargo
The major site of imports and exports in the region, Urzikstan Cargo offers powerful vantage points over the waterways and beyond via its cargo cranes. Prepare for close-quarters mayhem as squads battle it out between the stacked containers below.
Old Town
Once the heart of the region, Old Town has seen better days since construction moved south. Skirmish through dilapidated buildings and get a sense of the region’s early history where the population first set down its roots.
Low Town
Far from the riches of Zaravan, Low Town is home to ramshackle living quarters where buildings stand on wooden stilt foundations over muddy, trash-strewn walkways. Don’t let the run-down appearance fool you — the area’s centralized location makes it a key location for ambushing enemies crossing the map.
Hadiqa Farms
Hadiqa Farms is ideal for those seeking a more rural setting. With fewer buildings than the other areas, the combat here is focused on the ground. Keep a long-ranged weapon in tow when navigating here, as cover can be hard to come by when traversing the wide-open fields.
Zaravan City
Old and new construction alike sit side by side as the city grows ever taller. Utilize the horizontal ziplines to quickly traverse from skyscraper to skyscraper, or opt for the streets below. Bring along a vehicle if you do; you’ll want a quick escape if things go sideways, and the freeway through downtown provides the perfect route to your next destination.
Zaravan Suburbs
Battle in the outskirts of Zaravan City, an affluent suburb featuring rooftop gardens, solar panels over ancient archways, and a state-of-the-art concert hall and community center. This is an ideal point from which to launch an attack into the city without needing to cross waterways or bridges.
Shahin Manor
Deploy to the exquisite Shahin Manor, adorned with the flag of Urzikstan and situated far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Watch for enemies overhead as you ascend the double staircase rising over the marble-floored foyer and prepare for close-quarters combat throughout.
More on the Way
Stay tuned for more info on Urzikstan, including a much more detailed look at the map as we get closer to its launch alongside Season 01 in December. In the meantime, continue dropping into the current Call of Duty: Warzone maps to ensure your skills are up to par when the new battleground goes live.

Happy Anniversary to not onlySoundodger 2 releasing in Early Access on this day in 2021, not only for announcing it a year earlier in 2020, but to the grandodger of them all, Soundodger+, released as well on this day exactly 10 years ago. Wow!
To celebrate such a packed and important day, we've got a bunch of goodies dropping. Unfortunately, since I am now working at another company, a proper game update is not in the cards today. Speaking of cards...
Trading Cards
Trading card drops are now live for Soundodger 2! Collect them all, trade with friends, earn badges, unlock emotes, and all that other stuff people do with Steam trading cards. Oh, and some of the profile backgrounds were made by fellow Soundodger 2 level creator Oxy, so look out for those!
Points Shop
We also have a couple profile backgrounds and borders available in the Points Shop, including an animated sticker of everyone's favorite skull. Check em all out here!
Merch Store
Moving outside of Steam, we have 2 new shirts dropping in the merch store! (There are also a bunch of other shirts, if you are just finding out now). What better way to celebrate a thing you love than to wear an obscure reference to it on your chest? (merch store, new shirt 1, new shirt 2) TIP: Use code SOUNDAY23 at checkout for 15% off! (good for the next week)
Soundodger on itch
The entire Soundodger franchise is also now available on itch, if you prefer to have options. This includes Soundodger+, Soundodger 2, the soundtracks for eachgame, and the ultra rare soundodgerLIVE. The Soundodger 2 Soundtrack in particular is special on itch, as it also contains all of the main game level files, for those who wish to pick apart the XMLs and discover how truly chaotic things are in game development.
Secret Song! Secret Level!
Last, but certainly not least, we have a secret song to announce, a lost relic to the deadline gods: a third track from longtime collaborator MOWUKIS! And not only is this track debuting for the first time, it also has a level to go along with it. If you already own Soundodger 2, all you have to do is unzip the contents and add the folder to your Documents>soundodger 2>levels folder. It'll then appear in User Levels from the title screen. MOWUKIS has also put all three Soundodger 2 tracks into a new EP, so please support your favorite French Soundodger composer and check it out! - Download MOWUKIS - Flows for Soundodger 2 - Check out the EP from MOWUKIS
That's it for Sounday 2023. I hope you enjoy all the little things we put together above. I know it's disappointing to not get some kind of an update. I would have loved to make one. I still want to do something in the future, so for now, you have trading cards to unlock and shirts to wash.
• The Equinox Valley in all its glory has been added, it's accessed using an Equinox Mirror, a 1 in 1000 drop from Bloodbones in World 3.
• Complete cloud Dreams to unlock 11 different bonuses, new resources, and powerful upgrades.
• Added Hide Damage toggle to Worship Tower Defence, to help with users facing lag when playing.
• Adjusted the Player Swap system to show background of player's location and only require a single click to swap
• Reduced the cost of the "1% chance of starbook" in the Shimmer Island shop from 3 -> 2 • Fixed a display issue where the amount of Trash you have for trash island would sometimes round up incorrectly • Fixed a rare issue where Rando Island wouldn't spawn its weekly Random Event boss.
This one goes out to all the haters who said I'd never make an update called 'Equinox Valley'. Also, check out these new Steam Emotes: ːPigchamp_IdleOnː ːbobjoepickleː ːUp_IdleOnː ːGrumbloː , I finally added Trading cards and all that!
Enjoy the update Idleoneers! I hope your valley has lots of Equinox and your bar stays full after upgrading ːSmile_IdleOnː
It’s that time of the year! Following our tradition, from today until November 6th, our popular Halloween Map-Making Contest will go live!
We can’t wait to see your maps filled with horrors and spooky entities ready to be mauled!
NOTE
To maintain a fun, fair, and competitive environment, previous winners from the intermediate/ novice categories will be required to compete in one tier higher than before (e.g. Novice winners will now compete in intermediate). Should this person not win the following MMC, they can rejoin all categories during the next event.
We see this as an opportunity to ensure a fair and competitive space for all participants of our MMCs, allowing players to compete with those within their skill level.
Advanced Tier winners will keep participating in the Advanced category, but if they don’t win this time, they will be free to submit in lower categories in the next MMC.
Contest Details
3 Tiers Format
There will be 3 winners, with tiers broken down into Advanced, Intermediate and Novice.
The tier in which you participate is entirely up to you; every category is open, but note that you can post only 1 map in total, so think carefully before deciding.
Submission System
Submissions are limited to one map, so choose which tier you enter wisely.
You can submit your level as a collaboration, but be sure to arrange the prize management autonomously.
Submission Rules
Any cheating (stealing prefabs, trying to post multiple levels, etc.) will disqualify your level.
We are excited to roll out the latest hotfix for Bang On Balls: Chronicles on Steam to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable gaming adventure. Thanks to your continuous feedback and our team's relentless effort, we have been able to address several issues that were impacting your gameplay.
Here’s a sneak peek into the bug-bashing saga:
Gave a good talking to the Roman Boss who was sometimes playing hard to get, and now the fight kicks off like a charm!
Fixed the sneaky USA Control room Alien boss who thought it could hide below ground. Not on our watch!
Sorted out the flag mix-up in split-screen travel. Player 2, your flag is yours again!
Noticed some levels going all moody and dark in split screen? We brought back the lights!
Spruced up Co-op Player 1's camera. No more peeking through trees or other weird stuff!
Plugged up the cheeky spots in Japan that were trying to send you to the core of the earth.
Waves now make a splash when client players do a boat slam in the water. Surf’s up!
No more low-res surprise when switching to co-op, the visuals stay crisp.
International pals, we’ve dialed up the connectivity so you can join the bash without a hitch!
Co-op Player 2 will now chill in the diorama hangar when back at the main menu. As it should be!
Made those shy alien spheres visible to client players. Peek-a-boo!
And oh, the Toxic Boss Frog now finishes its dramatic entry before jumping into combat. The show's over, time to fight!
Keep the feedback coming, we're rolling this ball together!
