Chess gathers the most disciplined of minds but it isn't impervious to controversy.

In 2022, GM Magnus Carlsen shockingly lost to Hans Moke Niemann which prompted an investigation.

It became "the most serious #scandal about cheating allegations in chess in years".



Chess.com's duty to uphold the standards and fair play policy of the game led to a 72-page report stating that 'Niemann Has Likely Cheated In More Than 100 Online Chess Games'. This report was shared publicly.

Hans has admitted to cheating in online chess in the past, but denied cheating in the game with Carlsen or in any over-the-board game.



This scandal shook the chess world and quickly became the talk of the town.



These accusations that were voiced so publicly prompted Niemann to sue Carlsen and Chess.com for defamation, seeking $100 million in damages. The suit was later dismissed and Niemann was reinstated in the website.

Hans is back to playing chess full time to "make amends" some say. Others say that he now has a giant chip on his shoulder and is on his redemption arc to show the world his true skill. You can watch a recap of the whole ordeal done by WSJ here.

In the demo, you’ll begin your adventure in the Wild West of saving your Uncle Howard’s ranch from the dastardly Grit Corp.

You'll be able to:

- Explore parts of the vast prairie
- Build your ranch
- Craft weapons and tools
- Fight gangs of bandits

The Demo will be available throughout Steam’s Next Fest, and for a few weeks after the event ends on October 16th. Later on, we will post an update when the demo will be taken down.
