Remove the "Fourth Dungeon Entrance", Savegames at risk!

Hi everyone,
Very important message:
Affected are players that played between the 1st and the 5th of october, and built the Dungeon Entrance, which was available in the game too early and not functional.
To ensure your savegames will not be permanently corrupted after the next Update for Tropico 6 on the 12th of October:

Please make sure to remove the "Fourth Dungeon Entrance" from your current maps before October 12th in case you have built it.

You will be able to utilize it again in the future.

Phantom Fury - 3DR Vince
It has been a bit over a week since Realms Deep ended, and we feel that now is the perfect time to thank you all for checking out the Phantom Fury demo! We really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to play it and share your feedback and thoughts with our team. Rest assured, the feedback we’ve received from the community will be instrumental in the further development of the game.



We will keep the demo up on Steam until tomorrow Tuesday @8 AM PT / 5 PM CEST, as this was intended as a special drop for Realms Deep only. The primary goal of the demo was to solicit feedback from the community as well as to display what we have been working on. You have all been gracious in your appraisal and accurate in your criticism and the team is taking both of these factors to heart and working to implement this feedback to secure the highest-quality product. Below is a list of key takeaways from the feedback we have selected. Some of the highlighted issues, as listed below, have been in development already but due to time limitations they weren't added to the Realms Deep demo.

  • Enemy voice lines are still in the process of being cut and will be present in the full game.
  • Auditory hit feedback and gibbing sounds are still worked on and muted on purpose in the demo.
  • Full-gibbing enemies when doing over a certain damage threshold was not implemented in time for the demo. It is now.
  • Insta-use arm punch (instead of manual equip) and targeting towards the center of mass are being worked on and refined.



Furthermore, the following issues are being investigated and addressed.
  • Various bugs with saving and loading, such as inconsistent collision with gas tanks causing soft locks, lack of camera animations on checkpoint load and other miscellaneous bugs in regards to player input.
  • Various game settings and rebinding keys were missing in the demo and we profoundly apologize to all our non-WASD users. They will be added to the full game.
  • Profile system causing issues has been noted and being investigated.

Regarding the overall polish on the game:
  • Game balance is not final and subject to change in the coming months.
  • This includes AI which is currently in the progress of getting balanced and bugfixed.
  • Performance will improve closer to launch - we are aware of issues with older machines and are working hard with our QA team to optimize for them.

Moving forward we will continue our push towards completion of the game and aim to release an updated version of the demo in February for the Steam Next Fest. This also means that we are going to move the release date to 2024. We feel that this is a necessary adjustment to ensure that the game meets the standards of the 3D Realms/Slipgate Ironworks community and of the underlying IP which the game is being created.

Draft of Darkness - Crawly Games
This is just a small hotfix patch for a few bugs that needed fixing. I wanted to get this out before I can switch my focus back to content.
* Fixed an issue with the Beast Claw item causing a crash.
* Fixed an issue where items were getting stuck in the "selected" state, causing them to be activating repeatedly upon clicking.
* Fixed "Crusader" perk increasing Power for the current card (which activated combo) as well.
* Fixed "Distraction +1" applying Stealth to enemies instead of Slowness.
* Fixed infinite loop caused by Cat Collar and Cube/Fragment items.
* Changed the placement of the scroll buttons which appear when too many items were in inventory. They were previously unclickable.
* Trivial fixes.

Overview

Hello everyone! With this patch I wanted to address some of the most important issues in the current build. Number one is that the percentage of players who are reporting corrupted save files and losing their hard earned progress is much higher than I would like to see. I have added some protections to prevent this from happening moving forward. I have also sped up the early game progression, and added a simple food upgrade system. In the future, I may rework this system to make it more interesting, but for the time being it should help to address the issues that active players had with progress being too slow. With this comes a number of highly requested quality-of-life features.

Before getting into the patch notes, I want to make a quick plea. I am a hobbyist solo developer finishing up grad school, but I would really like to pursue game development full time. What's New?

Gameplay Changes
  • Rebalanced game pacing. Freshwater Friends now both earn and cost more, the first saltwater tank now costs less, and later saltwater packs cost more. Early game progression is now faster.
  • Added a food xp upgrade so active playstyles are more effective.
  • Added a couple of secrets :)
Quality of Life Improvements
  • Tank income is now displayed in the tank menu.
  • Adult fish follow food less aggressively.
  • Various minor UI tweaks.
Bugfixes
  • Added an automatic backup save file to prevent players from losing progress in the event of a computer crash.
  • Packs are no longer lost when a new tank is bought.

Beta Branch
Again, I will be pushing all changes to the beta branch before making them live on the main build. In order to opt in to the beta branch, right click on the game in Steam and select "Properties -> Betas" and select the beta branch. Remember to join the beta at your own risk! I highly recommend beta testers regularly back up your save files locally. Saves can be found at the following locations:
  • Windows: C:\Users\ [you]\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Chillquarium\V7
  • MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Godot/app_userdata/Chillquarium/V7
