This Week: Brown Bear Armor

This week, we’ve added the new Brown Bear Armor at Tier 2 which is a ‘Berserker Set’ - meaning when all five items are used at once, players receive a Set Bonus of Attack Speed and Melee Resistance buffs.

This Armor Set requires you to hunt bears for their fur and leather. If you want to don the all-important headpiece you will need to use a taxidermy knife on a defeated bear to collect its head for crafting.

To balance the armor tiers with this new addition at Tier 2, the Bone Armor has been slightly adjusted and dropped to a Tier 1 Armor set which is craftable on the player, rather than requiring a bench.

The Obsidian & Heavy Obsidian Armors have had some adjustments lowering some stats but increasing others. While the Leather, Cured Leather and Composite armors have received health and stamina regeneration buffs. Changes can be seen in the patch notes below.



Coming Soon: Hypatia

Our work on the Hypatia is making substantial progress, and we’ve shifted our focus to refining, testing, and fine-tuning the balancing of add Operations to Styx. Meanwhile, the rest of the team is helping the team working on Olympus Operations and adding spawning exotics in Open World.

This is a large change and requires a considerable amount of game design input, so while simple in theory, we’re taking our time and care with implementing it to not break the balance and flow of the game loop.



Next Week: Hypatia Part 1: STYX OPERATIONS

We are currently on track to release Hypatia Part 1: Styx Operations next week, barring any large bugs or blockers. We’ll be deep in testing out all the different experiences, ensuring players can easily access the new UI and quest steps.

Our plan is to release Hypatia in a few parts, aiming to get the Styx Operations out first and then moving into Olympus Operations and exotic spawns in open world.

With the Global Testing Tour starting in October,
BLACK STIGMA wants to grow together with streamers.

For this purpose, we are launching the ‘Partner Streamer Program’.


What is the Partner Streamer Program?

  • We envision our BLACK STIGMA game growing together with streamers who broadcast games on the Internet.

  • We promise to provide support, including special permissions, to streamers who partner with us to broadcast about BLACK STIGMA.

  • Streamers who have signed a partnership can broadcast using BLACK STIGMA as content, which differentiates them from other streamers, receive game support from the developer, and dominate issues faster than others.

  • If a partner streamer achieves a certain number of broadcasts and viewers, cash compensation of up to 1,000 USD will be paid based on performance at the end of the program period.


Program operation schedule

  • Your channel must have at least 50 followers on Twitch.

      (Due to issues with game tier and receiving monetary rewards)

  • You must have a Paypal account for performance-based monetary rewards.
    • You can become a partner even if you do not have a Paypal account, but you will not receive monetary compensation based on future performance achievements.


Information on how to apply and joining process

  • Please fill out the streamer participation application form.
  • We will review your application and notify you of whether you have been selected as a partner on the announcement date for each region.

  • Those selected as partners will be notified through a separate hotline channel before the start of service in each region.


Live Streaming Mission Guide

  • When broadcasting on the Twitch platform, be sure to add the ‘BLACK STIGMA’ category in the broadcast information edit menu.

  • Please check 'Branded Content'.

  • Please broadcast your play at least 2 times and for at least 2 hours each time before settlement.

  • You must follow the policies of your partner streamer program between broadcasts. Partner streamer program policies will be announced on the dedicated Discord channel.


Partner Streamer Benefits and Rewards

  • The following conveniences and benefits are provided to streamers selected as partners.
    1. We invite partner streamers to a dedicated Discord channel and provide a hotline with the developer.

    2. Partner streamers can open custom game rooms during this Global Testing Tour. A custom game is not a random match, but rather a method in which only people invited by the host gather together and form teams and spectators of their choice.

    3. For smooth testing, necessary game goods will be provided upon request.

    4. Cash rewards are paid based on the maximum number of viewers achieved for each broadcast episode.
      • Those who broadcast BLACK STIGMA material for the minimum number of broadcasts of 2 times, each for more than 2 hours, will receive cash compensation based on the maximum number of viewers for each episode.
      • The maximum number of rewards per person is 4, and if you proceed same and more than 4 times, the information will be calculated based on the 4 times with the highest maximum number of viewers.


Partner Streamer Termination Terms

  • If a partner streamer wishes to cancel, he or she may go through one of the cancellation procedures below.
    1. Send your intention to give up being a partner via a direct message to the Discord administrator (@BLACK STIGMA, BLACK STIGMA#0524)
    2. Send an email to Bold Play Games’ official account stating that you are giving up on being a partner (operation@boldplaygames.com)

  • Partner streamers may be terminated at the discretion of the company as follows.

  1. I'm curious about which region the server will be opened in in my country.

  2. What are the ‘custom games’ that only partners can use?
    • This is a mode where you can enjoy the game with only the people you want in the game mode and map you want, rather than following general random matching.
    • In Custom Mode, in addition to being a member of the actual battle, you can also become a spectator who can see other players' perspectives.

  3. How are partners selected?
    • We personally review the Twitch channels of all applicants to ensure that their passion for channel growth and key topics match. Because we are looking for streamers who can grow together with us, number of followers or popularity are not criteria for selection.
    • When the selection announcement date for each region arrives, all applicants will be notified of the results by email.

Took me a bit more time than anticipated, but finally managed to release the first season of bonus scenes as a DLC.

For those who don't know, I write bonus scenes on the side while developing my projects. The scenario of every bonus scene is thought up by one member of my community and is written by me.

The first season of bonus scenes contains 6 bonus scenes and costs 1.99$. Only one of the stories in it is actually canon. So unless you really like my work and want more of A Promise Best Left Unkept, I personally think there's more than enough content in the base version of the game already. But the option is there nonetheless.

In any case, thank you all so much for purchasing my game and supporting me. The past few days have been really great!

I would like to reveal my plan for the future development of the game.

Odyssey Mode.

A single player procedurally generated campaign that can take as long as you like.
Gameplay will be split into two parts.

One will be the galactic map where you will roam all over the galaxy with your fleet from star system to star system and encounter various challenges and points of interest, such as planets, fleets, ancient derelicts, space stations etc.

The second will be the actual missions you uncover during your journey. I am developing the procedural map generator that will randomly generate those missions. And will make a system of event triggers template injection into those maps. In this way the content will be more diverse and more interesting and it will have a various possible scripted scenarios injected into the missions, such as:

-Resource node discovery: you fight with other opposing factions over a resource.
-Artifact mode discovery: you fight with other opposing factions over a ancient derelict to claim the ancient artifact or ancient technology to boost your fleet.
-Rescue Mission: you receive a distress call and you arrive at the site. You can choose to raid the ones that are calling for help, or to help the evacuate or fend of the attackers.
-Planetary siege: same as rescue mission but on planetary scale :D.
Those are some examples but of course there are more to be introduced.

There will be various factions fighting for domination over the galaxy and it will be your choice to make
enemies or allies out of them. Every mission will have dynamic outcomes that will increase or decrease your reputation with that faction, depending on your choices and the outcome of the mission.

Note that this will not be playable in a near future, but I hope you will get a great experience out of Odyssey Mode.
Also, the main story campaign will also have the odyssey features integrated. So it will be up to you to choose how will your campaign play out.

I know that this is a very hard endeavor for one man to implement, but I would really love to make this a reality. I hope you like the idea.
