Hometopia - HometopiaGame
Hi Topians!

The following error has been appearing at launch for some of our players:

We understand this is frustrating to experience and wanted to make sure that we communicate why this is happening. This error occurs 95% of the time because the computer specs do not meet the minimum requirements for Hometopia at this time.

We are in Early Access and working really hard to optimize for more systems, but, for the time being, these are our minimum specs:

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: Intel Core 8th gen
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1060 4GB
DirectX: Version 12
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 10 GB available space

How to check if your computer meets the specs:

Click on the Windows Start button, then click on Settings (the gear icon). In the Settings menu, click on System. Scroll down and click on About. (You must meet all requirements, including the dedicated graphics card, to play Hometopia at this time.)

If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out on Discord. (Join here: https://discord.gg/hometopia-604380109109198850) Please be sure to include your specific system details, so that we can better understand and address compatibility issues going forward.

If you are receiving this error, you may want to consider submitting a refund request. We hope you’ll revisit Hometopia once we've optimized for more system configurations!

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Prophecy - oeregharcos
Inquisitors,

We're pleased to announce that we have released Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr Definitive Edition. This is a new bundle that will replace the Complete Collection, adding the Sororitas Class into the package.

This is now considered the most complete edition you can get, with five classes to play as, and numerous planets to cleanse. We're also celebrating the game and its DLCs with a huge Steam sale starting today - the base game and the Definitive Edition have received an incredible 90% discount while the Sororitas Class is 50% off for those who don't own it yet.

It's been five years since the game's original launch, and we hope you've been enjoying it - and if you're still new to the Caligari Sector, now is the time to delve into it!

In case you're wondering, Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr is still supported, so make sure to leave any feedback, and enjoy the unending purge.

For the Emperor!

0.1003 Changelog

A massive issue we found was that when the game is played on certain languages (German, Chinese, French, and some others) the quest triggers would completely break.

This should now be fixed, but we are extremely sorry for this issue. That would explain why most of our negative reviews are in these languages -- the game simply did not work. We deeply apologize for this error, and hope that you didn't feel duped in any way. Please let us know on the Steam forums or on https://discord.gg/Saleblazers if we still didn't fix it in your language.

Fractured Veil - Sanana94
Aloha Thrivers!

If you are one of our testers or have been following our discord, you may have noticed that our team has been working on building up a pretty big new area that up until a month ago was nothing but a bunch of building blocks.

Today, we are happy to show and tell you about one new area in Fractured Veil!

Some of you may know that recently, the real Lahaina was destroyed in a wildfire. When we saw the news we were saddened to see so much of town and buildings gone, but even more devastated by the loss of life. We decided to honor a place that means so much to us by creating a social zone where players can come and connect with each other, inspired by the Lahaina that used to be.

Our game world is our canvas, and our plan is to start filling it up with interesting new areas for the players to explore. The city of Lahaina is one of our first additions to the game that has been made specifically as a social area. Every time we see it we imagine people having fun, trading, interacting and socializing with each other, while also exploring and looting it in peace, feeling a change of pace compared to the normal experience of the game.

What exactly do you mean by a social area? Why should players go there?
By social area, we mean a No-Build and No-PvP area that is mostly danger-free (emphasis on mostly). Players here will be able to roam freely, interact with each other, scavenge for resources and loot, and browse the stock of various vendors that inhabit the area.
When we think about this area we imagine the potential for roleplay, content creation, or entire community-made events.

What about the story of the place?
This was one of the last thriving cities where native folks (aka Kanaka), who survived the fracture, used to live. They were keeping themselves and their kids safe from the tourists and shortly later the mutants. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out in the end, but that’s why you (the players) are here to help rebuild civilization!

Are we going to see more areas like these?
Sure! That’s in the plans, we have plenty of stories we want to tell through environments and areas like this one. For now, our priority is launching the game in Early Access and focusing on adding some much-needed features and improvements to it. But players can expect more and more areas to be built with upcoming updates. If you want a sneak peek, our discord server has a dedicated channel just for that!

That’s all for this week’s update. We like to keep these short but always offer something new and interesting for our community.
We hope you are as excited as we are for this new area. We will share more updates about it when the time comes!
Until then… here’s a nice romantic sunset near the Lahaina Port.

Hi everyone,

Take a look at our new trailer showcasing combat gameplay:

This debuted at the recent Realms Deep event and we made it to celebrate our upcoming Next Fest demo - we'll have some exciting news on that shortly!

Sunwave Hotel - gladiuswriting
The Future of Sunwave Hotel

Hello,

This has been a long time coming, and I'm so happy to have Sunwave Hotel out on Steam. We've been around for a couple of years now, but this is the biggest step we've made. I hope that all of you will find something special in Sunwave Hotel. It has been a labor of love and we're not done yet.

Technical Advice

Save often. The game has some bumps and bruises that we're working hard to fix up. I recommend saving often just in case you run into a bad room bug. This just means that a quest exits you out onto an old room file and traps you there. I'm working hard to nip all of these issues in the butt, but for now it doesn't hurt to have some backups.

I'm also looking at increasing the total amount of save files.

Main plan for what comes next

Pretty much the number one priority is just finishing the main story. We're at 75 percent on that, so there isn't much to do and I'm confident it will all be finished and polished in 2024. Beyond just the ending, we will have different endings for players to choose from based on their choices throughout the main story.

Improving Saving and Loading. Right now, you can only save after events, and you can't load from in-game. We are working to add that functionality so people can do as many routes as possible.

Gallery Information

We have begun construction of a proper Gallery for the game. You can find it in the Main Menu. It is not complete, but we have you covered if you want to review the juicy scenes. In the game, after you do the first mission, if you just go to the left of the town map, you will see a Not-So-Secret Gallery.

We created this early on so that in case of bugs, people can always check out the scenes. Our plan is to convert the old gallery into a new gallery. I will be working on this throughout October. It will be a long process, but worth it once all the pieces are in the right place.

Achievements

Achievements are on the list, and I expect to work out the coding side to achieve them during October or November. I know this may frustrate some, but Sunwave Hotel is still being finished, and I didn't really want to jump into making achievements until everything was in place.

But rest assured, in the future, Sunwave Hotel will have a range of achievements for people to unlock, after we make sure the system works properly.

Plans for Voice

We have experimented with Voice Acting during the development, and I can see just how much it adds to the game. We already have a voice actor for Kuhno, and we will continue expanding this function in the future. It can feel a bit 'extra', but when Kuhno's voice pops in with an animated scene, it really elevates things to the next level.

Plans for Animations

With enough support, the plan is to get at least 50 percent of the scenes animated. Nothing is better than watching the 2d pieces come to life.

Additional Content

Beyond finishing the main quest, we will see a large Side Quest being added to Sunwave Hotel in the future as well. Everything is plotted out. It's just a matter of writing the content and manufacturing the scenes.

We're also planning to do a Female Protagonist option in the future as well. Kuhno will be turned into a Playable Character so that people can play as a male or a female character.

Naturally, we have plenty of room to expand. New islands, new characters, this is just the start of a new galaxy.

Additional Languages

During September, the team was hard at work making sure that in the future, the system can cover special characters for other languages. We don't have any concrete plans for what comes next, but we are definitely open to adding additional language support during the development cycle.

If you have any other questions, drop them here or in the Steam Community Section.

You'll find a host of weapon upgrades for your standard issue rifle across all three sectors in the Iron Meat demo! But which one do you think reigns supreme above the rest?

1. M: Energy Machine Gun
The Energy Machine Gun utilizes larger rounds compared to the standard issue rifles and deals more damage. Upgrading this weapon further will give it two rows of fire and deal even more damage!

2. B: Plasma Arc Blaster
The Plasma Arc Blaster fires a curved round of super-heated plasma that covers a wide vertical range. Upgrading this weapon further will give it a slight damage boost, while maintaining its rapid rate-of-fire!

3. Shotgun Spreader
This weapon fires a burst of three shots at once. Its upgraded form adds two more rounds into the mix, while increasing its damage output!

4. H: Heavy Capsule Launcher
This launcher fires large capsules filled with energized plasma that explode on impact. While upgrading this gun gives it arguably the highest damage output in the game, its extremely slow rate-of-fire is maintained.

5. E: Energized Curving Particle Railgun
The curving rounds of energized plasma explode into a burst of three rounds upon coming into contact with enemies. The damage output from this weapon's upgraded form rivals that of the Heavy Capsule Launcher, while possessing a slightly higher rate-of-fire.

6. U: Ultra-Burst Laser Gun
As a weapon that fires long streaks of concentrated plasma, the Ultra-Burst Laser Gun is likely the best choice for focusing down singular enemies. Its upgraded form keeps its somewhat slow rate-of-fire, but its damage output is increased!

Not sure which weapon upgrade you'd prefer to use?

Test each one out in the Iron Meat demo--available NOW!
