Hey, all of you wonderful individuals! Here’s what’s new in this week’s update!

A small but impactful quality of life change has been added! The weapon slots for your Pets are no longer locked! This change of course means that exclusive weapons for them can be discovered over the course of the game. As of this update, two new weapons can be found. This change will hopefully incentivize the use of multiple Pets for different situations. Also, Lauren who previously fought without a weapon, now starts with a basic cleaning broom! …Well, she can use it as a staff to channel her magic, at least.

Next, I'm happy to announce the completion of the last substantial chunk of writing I had left. Seraphina's support conversations are now completely written, scripted and tested.



On Monday I had trouble concentrating, but I managed to pull through over the course of the week and get it done. Working on the game while at my local library was a big help. The place was recently refurbished and had a great, calm atmosphere. I want to return there soon.

On the game’s side, I just have a few more things to get through before release. I need to rebalance the boss fight, finish the enemy placements in the dungeon, update the dev room to include all the new items, cheats, and skips for this version, and finally test the scenario from start to finish. I do however have two more pieces of art to finish, which is what I plan on prioritizing this week.

I still plan on releasing the game this month, but it’s likely going to release late in the month for Patrons and then early November for everyone else. This is to ensure I have plenty of time to test and iron out any flaws I encounter right upon release. Thanks to everyone for being patient!

I wanted to give you a highlight of upcoming changes in this week.
Despites the bug fixes, quality of life improvements, this week I'm also going to include following:

Memory Reader

Memory Reader implementation finally comes to the game, which may be useful addition for privilege escalation, or getting an information otherwise hidden.

Difficulty settings

My goal is to ensure the game is fun and challenging, but not frustrating. I know the players come in with different level of knowledge and expectations. To make sure the game is smooth not only for powerusers, I'll introduce a new difficulty settings where guided mode will provide useful tips and hints.

This will also allow me to prepare bigger challenges for those who seek it, without hurting players who prefer lower level of challenges.

Social and personal NPC websites

Introduction of personal websites for NPCs is a next step for better background simulation of the world and npcs, it's a way to learn more what's going on, as well as learn more about the targets. It's going to be useful for social engineering which comes very soon after.

Shop changes

Right now we have a single shop with all tools - let's waive it goodbye!
There will be different shops, different groups that sell tools, as well as more info about the tool and in-game instructions.
The change will affect also hardware shop. And who knows, maybe there will be tor markets?

  • Matchmaking has been rewritten to now run in the background
  • Now when you start matchmaking, you can back out and go do other things like Local VS or Training
  • There is a new matchmaking indicator in the bottom left, above the game version
  • When the matchmaker is idle, click the indicator to start searching for a Casual Match
  • When the matchmaker it in progress, click the indicator to stop searching
  • Whenever you finish fighting, you will now have an option to requeue
  • Ranked: You can now see the MMR you gained from an opponent rage quitting

In this update we wanted to allow more players to enjoy the game. Rough localization has been added along with some midgame flow adjustments.

Updates
-Icons added to each button for better readability and multi language adaptation.
-Multi country localization added.
-Gem location adjustments to give better game flow and goal setting.
-Obstacle animation timing in mid game adjusted to allow for faster run times.
-Added more space debris on certain challenging jumps to give more readability to the landing.
-Rare instances of players getting stuck have been fixed. If encountered again, please leave feedback in the bugs community discussion.
