Captains,

Joining the Public Test is a great way to earn containers that drop Premium ships, permanent and expendable camouflages, and other valuable items!

All information on how to get involved is available on a dedicated page of our official website.

Leave Feedback

Round 2 Schedule
Starts: Sep 28, 06:30 PM CEST (UTC+2)
Ends: Oct 3, 07:30 AM CEST (UTC+2)

During the 1st Round of the Public Test, we have noticed an increased amount of game crashes. We suspect that the root of the issue might be connected to the special camouflages that ships receive when selecting the Last Voyage of Transylvania, so we might have to disable these camouflages at some point during the 2nd round of the Public Test.

Captains, thank you for participating in the first round of the Public Test for Update 12.9! Your feedback helps us to improve the version and fix errors. Check out the changelog and join the second session of the Public Test!

Changelog
  • Fixed several textures in the Kure Port.
  • Made various improvements to Last Voyage of Transylvania, including changes to bot itineraries, ship type modifiers, spawns of some ships and their HP.
  • Fixed an issue that caused sounds from Last Voyage of Transylvania to play in other game types.
  • Fixed an issue when submarines exceeded their maximum speed while switching between periscope and submerged states in Last Voyage of Transylvania.
  • Fixed textures of the camouflage that ships received in Last Voyage of Transylvania.
  • Fixed several other minor issues.
Update 12.9 delivers a new Halloween Operation and the Salvage for Victory event in the Armory, as well as a specially decorated Kure Port and new iteration of Personal Challenges as a part of Early Access to the new Japanese Battleship line.

Take a look at the Developer Bulletin, and welcome to the Test!

Combat Missions and Rewards

Headbangers: Rhythm Royale - TomT17
Hey Flock! 👋🐦
Tom here, your Community Manager for Headbangers: Rhythm Royale! Today I have exciting news to announce in Coo-munity Flock 7, but before we get into that we'd like to explain two features of Headbangers.

Our all-free battle-pass
As we announced last month, Headbangers will contain an all-free battle pass system. Work your way through our battle pass to unlock new outfits, neck noises, taunts and more!

Our shop
Alongside this, there’s a shop where you can spend your hard-earned breadcrumbs to unlock certain cosmetics. You unlock crumbs at the end of each Headbangers game, and you gain more crumbs based on how far you progress through our rhythm minigames. There’s no way to purchase crumbs- they’re only obtained by playing rounds of Headbangers!

Paid DLC 1 - 'Flock and Roll'
So, we have the shop and our battle-pass, however there’s a third way you can unlock cosmetics- with our Season 1 DLC, a paid cosmetics pack for Headbangers! Before we breakdown all the cosmetics in DLC 1, we’d like to say that our paid DLCs are entirely optional and cosmetic-only! Headbangers DLCs are separate from our battle pass and breadcrumbs in-game currency.

For each DLC Pack, you will unlock 4 full costumes, 4 garments, 1 taunt, 5 taunt voices and 1 neck sound. DLC 1 will cost 3.79. Here’s a look at all the cosmetics in DLC 1:

Full Costumes
Starting with the 4 full costumes (from left to right), we have The Croner Pigeon, The Classical Pigeon, The Electro Pigeon and finally, The Glam Rock Pigeon.

Garments
The 4 garments in the 'Flock and Roll' DLC are The Hippie Haircut, the Grunge Haircut, The Liverpool Glasses and The Guitar Necklace!

Alongside the 4 full costumes and 4 garments in DLC 1, 'Flock and Roll' also includes 1 taunt, 5 taunt voices and 1 neck sound.

It’s been an im-peck-able day and now we want to introduce you to the Pigeon Pass. With the Pigeon Pass, you unlock the first three seasons of paid DLC content for Headbangers: Rhythm Royale. This means you’ll get all the cosmetics seen today, plus paid content for our second and third DLCs! The Pigeon Pass is again paid cosmetics only and costs £11.99, a cheaper price than buying all three DLCs separately.

Pre-orders
In case you missed it, Headbangers: Rhythm Royale is now available to Pre-order!

Savvy pigeons that pre-order Headbangers Rhythm Royale will snag a pre order exclusive sombrero to add to their wardrobe of customisable items, with a deluxe edition also available, containing the base game plus the Pigeon Pass that grants players access to three unique DLC packs. The first DLC pack available, ‘Flock & Roll’, features four full costumes, four garments, a taunt and five taunt voices, and one neck sound, with content for the two remaining DLC packs being available before April 2024.

The standard version of Headbangers Rhythm Royale is available for £19.99/$19.99/€19.99, with the Deluxe Edition being available for £29.99/$29.99/€29.99.

That's all for today, Flock! Have a great day!👋

Starcom: Unknown Space - justkevin
As announced earlier this week, the Icarus build is available for opt-in. So far, there have been no reports of serious issues and at least a few players have reached the end. This is good news for my goal of promoting Icarus to the default build in a little over a week.

I'm trying an experiment regarding weekly updates:

I have been posting these updates just as topics in the discussion forum. Some players have suggested I post them as news items. Based on wording in Valve's Steamworks documentation I had (incorrectly) believed that there wasn't a way to post small weekly updates that weren't tied to a build. Apparently I can do that, I just need to manually set the visibility of announcements to appropriate values. Let me know if you think this is better and has the appropriate visibility.

Also, I thought I'd introduce a topic for players to discuss:

One of the things that delight players is when they do something unexpected or contrary to what they are expected to do, and the game acknowledges the action in some small way. Implementing these is work that most players will never see, but I think the value that it gives the players who do experiment with something weird is sometimes worth it.

So for players of Starcom: Unknown Space, is there anything you tried to see what would happen? I'm specifically looking for things that the game doesn't current react to. If your experiment related to some narrative important content, please use spoiler tags.

Until next week!
