Sugar Mess - Let's Play Jolly Battle - Roy_del_naya
Hey everyone!
As you already know Sugar Mess - Let’s Play Jolly Battle took part in one of the biggest gaming events and to be more specific it was the Tokyo Game Show 2023! This year, 243,248 people visited the exhibition over 4 days.
Our team flew to Japan and presented our arcade first person shooter for the whole family. It was a blast! We’ve met a lot of fun and creative people, made contacts with some industry giants, shared our work and collected feedback right away. It was an honor to share, talk and debate features in the gaming industry with professionals, game lovers, developers and fans.
And here are the key moments that the gamers noticed during these awesome days, so we’d like to share with you a short feedback review:
First-time VR Gaming Experience: gamers who were playing VR for the first time, praised the clarity and simplicity of the controls, as well as the clarity of actions they had to do.
Presentation of information and narrative: players praised the storytelling in the book and way information was conveyed through tips in tutorial, and loading screen.
Book and Plot: The book itself was praised as a very original way of presenting cutscenes. According to the players, it’s fun not just to look at the pictures, but to interact with the book as a game element. The plot itself seemed interesting, the players liked the characters calling them cool, especially the robots. They noted funny and intriguing moments, the characters.
Gameplay on the first level: According to feedback from players, behind the colorful gameplay lies not just a game for minors, but a shooter that can also interest adults. Thus, experienced gamers passed the level from the first try, and players with less experience needed more time to succeed, but they were no less delighted with the process.
Other levels: Some players completed the game without interruption, progressing well through the levels. The variety of gameplay mechanics and their execution was a pleasant surprise for them.
Gameplay: Players highly appreciated the quality of gameplay and its engaging plot. We’ve got feedback and suggestions from experienced players aimed at improving the gameplay, such as the height difference on rail levels. The bosses seemed complex and thoughtful. People liked also rhythm levels and puzzles.
We're grateful for TGS for hosting the show and we'd be happy to come back next year! :)

Feel free to drop by our Discord server to discuss the content of the upcoming update with us, the devs, and the community!
We launched the Open Beta a couple of weeks ago and it’s going well! Many people are testing the new content and sharing their feedback. There were some technical issues and a stream of patches has been released to fix them.
But the most interesting stuff is some new features and content! The roofs got some criticism in regards to the front. The “diagonal holes” were filled up with simple 3D-planks. These don’t look like the 1x1x1 block textured planks.
We did some discussing and Zun thought he could replace the 3D planks with the actual texture, to make them match precisely. And he proposed giving the blue roofs the cobblestone texture, so that these can be matched in a different way. He implemented this plan and it looks great!
Rails have received junctions, to make them even more flexible. Paths can cross each other, and players can determine where they go on junctions. By default, players travel in a straight direction, but they can go left by holding A and right by holding D.
Last but not least, we’ve introduced signs! They can be placed on the ground, or on walls, or be hung from the ceiling. And of course, they can be inscribed with your own custom texts! It really helps to personalize your colony, and we’re looking forward to seeing what you will build with all these new things.
Exciting news! The "Departed Away" demo is now available in French on Steam! Immerse yourself in an adventure, make choices, and explore a captivating world in French.
First and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who took part in the Building Contest! We were thrilled to have nearly 400 participants, and your submissions truly made it a challenging task for the jury to select the best ones.
To begin the selection process, we first identified our favorites, which resulted in 28 buildings making it to the semifinals.
Players that made it to the semi-finals will receive a different kind of participant hat. The hat you will have a effect which makes you stand out from the rest! (note that it might take for a while for us to turn on the effect).
After that we voted with the Uuvana team and the Community staff members for the top 3!
Here are the results!

Welcome to the exclusive gameplay demo walkthrough of Moonwalk's upcoming narrative action-adventurer, A Thug's Ascension, where we will be taking an early look at one of the biggest and bloodiest sequences in the game: the Battle of the Great Bridge.
Starting now and until Sunday October 1 at midnight PT, battles are waged across the French cities fighting for liberation and in the North Africa operations. You’ll need a lot more than just your shooting skills to stay standing, however, as this unique take on urban fighting features crafting and building as centerpieces of survival.
You’ll be scavenging for resources, fortifying bases, defending outposts, crafting your gear and fighting the enemy in WWII battles that aim to be realistic yet rooted in fun gameplay. Squad up in 16v16 domination matches in the WWII theaters of a new map set in a French city, where the push inward of the Allies was at its peak after D-Day, and a revamped and improved North Africa map, with better team balancing and new landmarks. Many new features have been implemented following player feedback, including an updated day-night cycle, improved movement, and new guns. You can check out the complete patch notes for UNITED 1944 Closed Beta II here.
This is your chance to prove yourself not only in action-packed domination matches, but also in an all new survivor mode! This new mode makes its debut today and takes the scavenging and open construction approach to a whole new level of tension. It’s a dog-eat-dog world: everyone is an enemy, and your only means of staying alive is what you can find around you. Look for resources, explore the city, and set up improvised bases anywhere as you fight for survival. Build, raid, kill, steal, scavenge, and destroy as you need for survival. Play for as long as you want, do your best to stay standing, and extract with as much loot as you’re capable of. Will you become a survivor of World War II... or will your bones be buried forever in this city?
Check out this Survivor Mode gameplay overview to know more about this new game mode and how it works:
