001 Game Creator has been updated to v2023.009.000, and it features a variety of improvements, fixes and a few crashes, plus an updated Android Billing to version 6.0.1!
Most notably is the improved behavior of particle effects. Featuring fixes to various crashes when making changes to sprites with particle effects, as well as them being repeatedly reset whenever retrieving the sprite of any actor layers (Char(*).Texture(*)). Other noteworthy fixes include requests with "Query Webpage into Variable/Table" events from not working correctly occasionally with certain servers due to an HTTP header issue, plus some major memory leaks with inserting/removing array elements throughout the engine which also fixed the MMORPG server (non-dedicated) from crashing after running for a while or after hundreds of connections.
As always, we appreciate the continued support and feedback that we receive from both the community and our Patreon members. You can view the full list of changes for the newest update and the previous ones from the changelog below: https://001gamecreator.com/changes/

Today we are an releasing our final update for SimplePlanes. Release notes are here. We had a few small features and several bug fixes that have accumulated in our repo so we decided to finish them up and push out a final update before sailing away to the next project(s). This will be our last update for SimplePlanes, unless we have any critical issues that pop up, but hey that doesn't mean the story ends here!
You might ask "is the next major project SimplePlanes 2?" Great question! That's a very strong contender and there are other ideas that we are very excited about as well. The team has been focusing on researching and developing core technologies that can be used in future games.
Today we are also releasing an update for Juno: New Origins along with a collaboration with @Linx bringing his amazing KSP mod Parallax to Juno with improved performance and visuals.
To celebrate all of this we are going to offer a week long discount to all of our titles on Steam, so if you have been thinking of getting the original SimpleRockets or Juno: New Origins, now it is the time!
These discounts apply on top of the Aerospace Engineer bundle, so if you want both Juno and SimplePlanes or just one of them and you already own the other, you can get them with an extra 15% discount.

We noticed a lot of players getting stuck very early on, and no one has been very close to beating it. So... we made it easier!
It's easier.
The very beginning of the game is now significantly easier. We've moved the first feather earlier and added 5 feathers to the beginning of the game. We also made some of the early jumps much more forgiving. There are some minor changes elsewhere but the major of changes are to the first level.
Quality of Life Improvements
Controller support - Many people have requested controller support. The game can now be fully navigated with a controller. Key rebinds - We added a controls menu where you can set up custom keybinds. (controller rebinding will come later.) Death Counter - We added an on-screen death counter to show how many lifetime and session deaths you've had. This can be disabled in the settings. Speed run rework - We've completely reworked the speed running mode. Now you can toggle between them without the game restarting... And each run will show ur time at the end, including your personal best and/or if your current run is a new personal record. We've also generally changed the speed runs to be a little more bite-sized. Coyote Increase - we've added a few more frames to when the player can use coyote time.
Bug fixes
-Fixed an issue where the camera was zoomed in on death when the Death Animation was enabled. -Fixed issues with sound affects not being tied to the sound settings -Fixed bug where players couldn't click anything after completing a speedrun. -Fixed a bug where there could be negative keys. -Fixed a bug where the player sprite didn't show on respawn while in the air. -Fixed an issue where sometimes a black box was at the bottom of the screen. -Implemented a potential fix for players getting lag spikes on level change. -Implemented a potential fix for players getting stuck on a black screen when launching the game.
Tyler Age: 20 Group Position: Leader Birthday: 01-31 Sign: Aquarius Height: 5'11 Blood Type: AB Nationality: American
Tyler the steadfast and determined leader of the Replay Boys. The responsibility of leading the group and dealing with their record label has been weighing on him heavily as he continues to prioritize the group over himself. He is going to crack, it’s just a matter of when.
Hey all, a straight forward post that it talking about the release schedule for the next few updates.
1. Later today, a patch (v0.3.31) will be releasing later today. 2. Two more patches scheduled for release this week. 3. Next week will see three updates, two patches and content update.
The content update will add the inventory system. Note that currently I am aiming to release these updates at there designated dates, but these are estimates and not confirmed.
After a couple of weeks of confusion, it seems the Unity situation has been resolved. They have changed their plans to only apply to the 2024 build of Unity (Shadows is built off the 2021 version), and have promised to cap the maximum invoice to a percentage of revenue. This fixes all the issues other than the somewhat concerning lack of warning about contractual changes.
What this means is that Shadows can continue development as planned. While this may become a problem in the future, there are no immediate concerns.
Version 1.1 is therefore going live today, after a little bugfix and adaptation to avoid it breaking save games from V1.0. Mods are another question, but hopefully none should be too badly affected, as the update mostly just adds a god and agent.
The god in question is the Broken Maker, which is something of a “god of newgame+”. When you win or lose with this god, humanity adapts. The world rebuilds while you sleep, and humanity gains buffs if you won, making the next rounder harder. You can also curse families and bury power, which gives you assets you can take from one round to the next, to help your future self. The god also borrows a couple of powers from other gods when it sleeps, giving you a randomised set of powers to play with each time.
The agent is The Aristocrat, who introduces a political game which tries to divide humanity, based on a conflict you've created. She simply turns up and calls for a vote on an issue, and lets human bickering and hostility do the rest. The better she can split the vote, the more damaging she can be. Her ultimate goal is to turn kingdoms against each other, and dukes against kings, leading to wars and civil wars. She also is naturally good at avoiding suspicion.
Gameplay: -Added "Broken Maker" god -Added "The Aristocrat" politics/crisis-exploitation agent -Added "Panic increases over time" to game options -Lingering Resentment drops to % when Unrest reaches maximum, to avoid "heads will roll" spam
Other: -Incompatible mods are now loaded (or at least attempted to), and only give a warning
Bugfixes: -Fix gamebreaking bug, where a civil war could crash the game and prevent game progression -Fix major bug where the "Kill the Chosen One's mentor" questline would break when selecting "spare" option -Fixed Eternity god powers not resetting after sleep -Fixed Eternity god causing the "world panic increases with time" to hit 100% instantly after sleep -Fixed name issue for Alliances which exist during Eternity sleep -Insect god's Drone and Haematophage are now 'arthropod' species, not human -Fixed outpost founder sometimes not being recognised as evil despite being an agent
