Hello there! We're streaming today, September 21st, on Fech's 1 year release anniversary! We're giving a new coat of paint to the sewers. See you on stream!
we are so glad to see many of you again here, and we start the first announcement by saying thank you to everybody who supported us on the first installment of this series! We read all the reviews, you made this sequel possible!
Now on to the main news, we just released the public demo of Chromosome Evil 2 on Steam for a limited period of time.
And here are some fun facts from behind the scenes: Fun Fact #1: Chromosome Evil 1 took 5 years of part-time and Chromosome Evil 2 took 1 year and a half of full-time. Fun Fact #2: All art was made in Windows Paint. Fun Fact #2: My partner remade again the entire engine mostly for the zoom-in function mechanic.
We still working on the game as we speak and we hope for a release sometime in the coming weeks. If you guys have any questions feel free to join our Discord and we will gladly answer them in real time.
While we all wish it was easier to edit the assets in my new games, Steam Workshop is finally here to at least make it indirectly possible! You can now "subscribe" to a whole range of mods and have them automatically show up in your game by choosing the alternate "Play Modded" launch option: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1620340/workshop/
Not only is this easier for users, but it's also fairer for the developer if all of this happens within Steam - where paying customers have earnt the right to customize a game they supported to this point. Once you get comfortable with it, you may even find yourself uploading your own mods! Look out for a couple of new PDFs explaining each side of the process. If enough people support the content, it could become a mutually beneficial way of breathing new life into the game for years to come. May I take this opportunity to publicly thank IngoH for his tireless efforts in taking us this far.
If you know this is never going to be your thing, you can revert back to always launching the vanilla version with a quick tick of that box. This is by no means my way of giving up on the project, as I have plenty of official developments in the pipeline as well.
Dark Envoy is an RPG-adventure with tactical real-time combat and online co-op.
If you're interested in trying out our new game and help us with balancing the combat, please join our Discord. We'll be happy to share access to the private build. - drop a msg on #playest-access. This build contains all of RPG systems (such as e.g. research or unique enchantments), not available before.
As try to be a community driven studio, your feedback plays a vital role in shaping of the final release. It is especially important considering that all the RPG systems we put in the game result in A LOT of available options on how to build and fight with your party, to the point that we could add "a bit sandboxy" as a tag, if there was an option for it. 😉
We would also like to mention that at some point before the launch, access to the preview/demo version will no longer be available. The planned release date is for October 24, 2023. We're looking forward to your feedback! 👉feedback! or drop your thoughts on Discord and we'll be happy to chat.
