Friends vs Friends - rawfury_broadcast9

Howdy Friends,

How are you enjoying the Free Weekend? It's been so great to see Friendtown fill up with new faces, read your Friends vs Friends reviews and hear your excitement for all the updates and changes. Be sure to keep leaving us your reviews, take some time to try out the game and, maybe if you like what you see, consider picking it up. It's never been cheaper and there's never been a better time to play.

You may have also seen that we gave you a glimpse into the future yesterday with Wired Wrecks. We're going to dedicate today's bulletin to answering your questions about what's happening this October, how you can get hold of our first Premium Expansion, and why it's going to be the greatest thing to ever happen to Friendtown. Since opening, of course.

Reveals of the Week

Let's break this down for you...

What is Wired Wrecks?

Why, it's the first of two Premium Expansions confirmed for release in 2023 for Friends vs Friends.

How much will it cost?

For now, it's only included as part of the Friends vs Friends Deluxe Edition. which is bundled alongside Premium Expansion 2. We are also looking into selling this seperately ahead of launch.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2432020/Friends_vs_Friends_Deluxe_Edition_Content/

When is it coming out?

Wired Wrecks will be releasing in early October. We'll have a final release date for you VERY SOON!

What's included in Wired Wrecks?

Within the Premium Expansion, you'll get the following

  • 10 Card Backs
  • 10 Hama (Key) Chains
  • 5 New Skins

Are KlustR Jr. and the 5 new cards also included?

The new character and cards will be made available as part of a free update (for everyone who owns Friends vs Friends) around the launch of Wired Wrecks. You do not need to pay to play as KlustR Jr or use the new cards.

Wait, the new character will be free?

Yep! Although if you do pick up Wired Wrecks, you'll get 2 additional skins for KlustR Jr to give him some slightly different looks.

How about the Hyena, they look really cool.

Racco is super cool and you can find out a whoooole lot more about them in Wired Wrecks. Invites are open to their Workshop.

What's happening with Premium Expansion 2?

That's also due to release in 2023. We're not quite ready to talk about this one yet but let's just say you can expect similar (and also VERY different) things to Wired Wrecks.

Oh, and how are those console releases cooking?

They're cooking!

Hope we answered everything! But if we didn't, just let us know below and we'll be sure to reply.

Community Spotlight

We're already getting fanart for KlustR Jr. Our newest Friend seems to have won over many hearts and we're so excited to share them with you.

Thanks for sketching this midofox96 from our Discord.

Thank you for sharing all your fan art with us. If you've been making some for Friends vs Friends, why not submit it to the fan art category here? We've seen some fantastic pieces out there and some surely worthy winners.

Special Shoutouts

We've got two very special shoutouts we want to make in today's Bulletin.

Firstly, we're super grateful for the support from the Moonstone Island team yesterday as they gave our Free Weekend a massive push across their networks. Thank you so much for connecting with us and telling the world about what's happening in Friendtown. You won't want to miss Moonstone Island when it releases on Steam next week, September 20! Especially since they also love some deck-building action.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1658150/Moonstone_Island/

Secondly, if you're loving Friends vs Friends and everything the Brainwash Gang are getting up to, then check out Laika: Aged Through Blood, a Western-Inspired Motorvania that you might spot some references to in Friends vs Friends. You've never explored a post-apocalyptic wasteland quite like this before.

Mayor’s Message

Hey folks, it's me. The Mayor of Friendtown.

Sorry I can't stop for long, this Free Weekend is certainly keeping me on my toes. Everyone's asking for free drinks. Free food. Heck, I've had people asking if they can stay at my place for free. You know, I'd probably let them if they bring me my favourite packet of crisps but that would sort of be defeating the point of 'free' wouldn't it....

It's been so nice connecting with so many wonderful people, some discovering Friendtown for the first time, others coming back for a return visit. We hope you'll stick around and stay with us.

I'd also encourage each and every one of you reading this to tell just one friend about the Free Weekend. Share the love far and wide and let's really take over this...'Steam' place. Whatever that is.

Oh, and if you have stopped by and checked out Friends vs Friends, do take some time to leave us a review. It really helps us to grow, develop and expand, and let's us know what we're getting right. And equally, what we're getting wrong.

Right, better get back to it. Someone's currently moving their sofa into my house and looks like a weekend's supply of munchies. Perhaps if they're willing to share?

That's been me, the Mayor of Friendtown. And you're reading the Mayor's Message.

Hello, Fellow Gamers!

We have reached a pivotal moment: we've managed to deliver half of what you've been eagerly expecting, while going further than we thought we could. However, there's no time for rest; we're pushing ahead full steam.

This spring marked the establishment of a brand new branch in the UK. This dynamic team of developers is not only eager to showcase their skills, but they're also dedicated to creating an enjoyable developer show. Think of it as a pleasant way to spend your Friday night, with a refreshing drink and some popcorn at your side.

As summer dawned, we were faced with a significant shift to version 5.2. The process of revamping many of the core components of our game has been a complex and time-consuming task. Yet we remain steadfast in our belief that by reinforcing these fundamental elements, we'll facilitate a better long-term experience. We are releasing one of the new big gamemodes: Mallers Cave and soon Bongo!

Mallers Cave

This map gamemode features a whole new cave map and a FFA gamemode. Where players truly test their metal to see who comes out as the champion!

Our mission in there is currently to make the perfect BOT enemies to fight against the player.

Introducing the Revamped Crossbows:

To enhance the VR gaming experience, all crossbows now require ammunition and reloading.

Base Crossbow: A manual reloading crossbow, standard in Helena's arsenal.
Crossbow Shotgun: A powerful weapon that releases 5 bolts simultaneously.
Explosive Crossbow: While it has limited ammo and range, its destructive power is unmatched.
AR Crossbow: Enjoy extended action without frequent reloading.
Crossbow Super: Imagine the Crossbow Shotgun, but with twice the firepower – 10 bolts in a single shot.
Crossbow Sniper: A high-risk, high-reward weapon. It compromises the user's health but decimates enemies effortlessly.
Homing Crossbow: Perfect for those moments when you'd rather not aim.
Healing Crossbow: Shoot yourself or allies to heal, but shooting enemies still does damage. It's a unique way to balance offense with self-preservation.

TURRETS

Introducing the Eye Turret!

The fiery gaze of the Architect's Eye is ceaselessly vigilant, and so are his formidable Eye Turrets. These advanced weapon systems not only safeguard his kingdom, but also unleash devastation upon any who dare challenge his reign.

Behold, the Ballista!

This medieval super crossbow arrives with a singular purpose: destruction. As a mobile autonomous turret, it caters to both PC and VR players, offering an immersive experience that guarantees explosive thrills.

Prepare for the Auto Crossbow!

This enchanting contraption is the sorcerer's brainchild—a fusion of four crossbows affixed to a mystical barrel brimming with arrows. In the realm of reality, it manifests as a fully operational arrow minigun. And believe it or not, it turned out to be an ingenious creation.

VR IK & HANDS

Additionally, the IK system has been enhanced to improve the calibration of players' body movements with their virtual characters, ensuring a more accurate and immersive experience. Now, players can seamlessly embody their virtual avatars with greater precision and fluidity.

NOTE THERE ARE ISSUES STILL RELATING TO ELBOWS AND SHOULDERS (WE'RE CURRENTLY WORKING ON A FIX)

VR Hud Bracelets!

Health Bracelet: The VR right-hand display now showcases the player's overall health, currency balance, and total life count, also referred to as "big health."

Mana Bracelet: Instead of relying on timed cooldowns, players can now cast abilities using mana.

Minion Speak or Arctongue now translated!

Now, the minions have taken their camaraderie to new heights, engaging in lively interactions and occasionally sharing their thoughts on the battlefield. Brace yourself, for amidst the chaos of battle, you'll gain insights into their daily lives and even experience the visceral sensation of being cleaved in half.

PC Player Controller support

What the future holds?

BONGO

We're on the homestretch with the Bongo gamemode, a project we've been tirelessly perfecting for your gaming pleasure. Designed for a team of four, this gamemode delivers exceptional fun, whether you choose to embark on the journey alone or with friends.

Our current refinement goals include:

Fine-tuning the VR platform, the pulsating heart of the Bongo VR gameplay experience.
Overhauling block physics for a truly immersive encounter with destruction and power-up blocks.
Smoothing out any bumps in the gameplay loop to ensure a flawless transition from the instant you press 'play' to the moment you exit the match.
Get ready for the thrill of the Bongo gamemode, soon to be at your fingertips!

Architects Conquest

Our team is diligently working on the forthcoming Architect Conquest maps, aiming to populate them with an array of new characters, monstrous creatures, and even more surprises. We're polishing and advancing the development of Mallers Cave and Bongo, prioritizing these as our key initiatives. Should all proceed according to plan, you'll soon be immersed in Conquest and Bongo. That's a promise!

VR ability casting system update

Prepare to be enchanted by the revolutionary evolution of VR magic! Gone are the days of whimsical hand gestures; behold the magic cards. Within these mystical cards, users can effortlessly navigate a plethora of abilities, granting them the power to swiftly select and cast spells at their very whim! Brace yourself for an immersive experience like never before as you delve into a world where magic transcends boundaries.

What is Public Staging?

It is the modus operandi of working with a second version of the game, on which new patches and updates can be applied and tested before they are integrated into the regular live version of the game. This means that one or more updates can first be tested before they are made available to all players in Early Access.

How to join the public staging?
Some of you probably have not done this before, so we have a small guide:

Prerequisite:
You must have Sengoku Dynasty in your library – obviously.

The procedure
  • Open your game library.
  • Right click on Sengoku Dynasty.
  • Open properties.
  • Select the tab "BETAS".*
  • Enter this password into the field below the drop-down menu: 6RmK07O5em39LFLj1e4OvZGlrQ7OqI
  • Click on "CHECK CODE".
  • Use the drop-down menu and select “releasecandidate“. This is the public stage version.
  • Click on "Close".
  • Steam should now download this version of the game.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE SAVE YOUR GAME ON THE LIVE VERSION AS A BACKUP COPY BEFORE ACCESSING THE PUBLIC STAGING BUILD!

This is merely a precautionary measure in the very unlikely event that anything goes wrong!
The saves can be found under this path:

%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/SengokuDynasty/Saved/

Copy the entire folder into a zip file or store a copy somewhere else on your hard drive.

*Steam labels all those builds as "betas” even if they are technically not betas, don’t let it confuse you!

Patch notes -- version 0.1.4.0
FIXES
  • Fixed the loss of control over the map zooming feature sometimes.
  • Fixed the lack of localization for corpse actions (looting / skinning).
  • Fixed Ul controls not changing back to mouse and keyboard when using LMB/RMB or dragging mouse wheel.
  • Fixed red flowers sometimes are stretched and do not disappear in winter.

UI
  • Improved how auto-assigning of handheld items to Quick Slots works – now when you break or throw a holdable, and craft a new one, it will automatically go to the Quick Slot that was used to keep the same item type. It will also auto-equip the replacement if you didn’t equip any other holdable in the meantime.
  • Improved how interactions with structures (like beds, containers, crafting, and production stations) work – now it is possible to use them while holding a hammer, so you can open a container or go to sleep while building, without the need to constantly unequip and equip the hammer back and forth. (Known issue - Keys F and T are transposed)
  • Added a new inventory interaction that allows you to bulk-transfer all compatible items to a Dynasty Storage.
  • Added a desaturation visual effect to all incompatible items in your inventory, when a dynasty storage is opened – it is much easier to determine, what can be stored, and what uses a different storage.
  • Reworked how a forced season change sequence works. Now it will NOT happen in many problematic situations, like during sleep, dialogues, cutscenes, or camera sequences. Additionally, the management screen will appear BEFORE the season changes, so that you can make some last-minute adjustments.
  • Added a respawn screen penalty message – the penalty itself isn’t new and was always there, but now you will be precisely informed what you lost when that wild hog mauled you.
  • Improved Special Project Workplace Popup by adding information on how long it will take to finish the project, what the rewards for completing it are, and by adding a “Manage Job” button in Population Details to open the popup.
  • Added a minor notification for discovered animal locations.
  • Limited character inputs in text input fields
  • Added Polish language.
  • Updated UI Localisations
  • Improved some information and visuals in Dynasty Management:
  • · Added a yellow dash if there is no happiness or effectiveness change predicted.
  • · Predicted effectiveness on season change now shows the bonus penalty value, instead of the total effectiveness value (which can be modified by other factors, like tools).
  • · All missing Storage Buildings will now be displayed in red in the workplace popup.
  • · Improved the looks of home/job assignment buttons in Population details.
  • · Improved labels of home/bed assignment lists.
  • · Added house icon to the home/bed assignment list.
  • · + many other minor improvements.

SETUP/BALANCE
  • Rebalanced how Stone and Iron deposits work - now medium and large ones will spawn a smaller version of the deposit when mined, so they are even more useful.
  • Simplified empty exterior segment setup and looks – now they are less intrusive when the hammer is equipped.
  • Improved setup of item replacement – now items like kama, shovel or hoe will auto re-equip if they break, and a spare is in the inventory.
  • Improved Tea Leaves and Tea Drink storage and need type to make more sense.

SFX
  • Improved audio positioning for Deer and Boar SFXs
  • Added Deer Nearby and Deer Alert SFXs

ART
  • Hare fur is now brighter and stands out in foliage more.
  • Adjusted NPC sitting animations.
  • Improved the ambient light to make the night brighter, especially during cloudy weather.

TECH
  • Implemented additional safeguards to prevent overwriting and corruption of saves.
  • Added a Pause during the Loading Screen. In-game time won’t pass when your game is loading.

Galaxy Pass Station - Dmitrii (Galactic Workshop)
We are very pleased that many people enjoyed the game. We've collected a large amount of feedback from you.

Some bugs were found in the game, and we've worked hard to fix them as quickly as possible.

Critical Issue Fixes:
  1. Fixed a performance issue that occurred with a large number of visitors in one room.
  2. The game no longer lags when a large number of visitors arrive simultaneously.
  3. Fixed some critical bugs with the fire drone. Sometimes fires never stopped.
  4. The elevator now operates more efficiently and doesn't wait for a large number of visitors to start moving.
  5. Hired workers have become less lazy and now adhere more strictly to their schedules.
  6. Visitors no longer ignore signs that prohibit them from entering a room while they are sitting and waiting for their turn for a certain item at the station.

Gameplay Improvements and Balance
  • Clerks and bureaucrats no longer significantly increase the station's appeal.
  • The progression of the station's interest has been improved to prevent the game from becoming chaotic in the later stages.
  • Reduced frequent flight arrival notifications; there will now be fewer of them.
  • Couriers now only call during the initial days to avoid distracting the player. In the later stages, they may still occasionally call.

Minor Improvements and Fixes
  • Removed extra unnecessary text that occasionally appeared at the bottom of the station (in space).
  • Now when you click on a room, you can immediately see the levels of beauty, noise, and smell.
  • In the first contact event, the Flight Board now opens one in-game day earlier.
