It's been a "long road" to get here and I'm glad you guys are interested enough to read these, but let's jump straight to what I have done past month!
Development Progress Update:
1. [Bot Improvements]: Last dev log I mentioned bot improvements. I have been reworking the whole movement, look at and detection system, but it's far from ready. I'll keep you updated on that.
2. [Team Selection Screen]: I have reworked Team Selection for all the maps.
3. [Bomb Rework]: I have started reworking bomb mode. Working on it from time to time, because my main focus is to get the bot rework done.
4. [Performance improvements]: I have been improving performance every now and then.
Upcoming Features and Content:
1. [Overhauled Recoil system]: This new system will be much better compared to the system I currently have.
2. [Headshot Sound]: This was in the last post, but I wanted to include it here aswell :)
Future Roadmap:
Here's the same roadmap from the last dev log. Nothing new yet..
1. [Playtest 5]: Next major milestone will be Playtest 5, where I'll gather even more feedback and fine-tune the game based on your input.
2. [Proximity Chat?]: This I'm not sure of yet, but I have been thinking about adding Voice Chat to allow players talk to their own teammates.
Q&A or Community Questions:
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! I will gladly address them in the next dev log.
We have applied sanction to the users who used illegal program.
Kf### (Steam): Permanent Ban
Penalized users will get heavier punishment if the punished user continues such abusive behavior in the future.
3on3 FreeStyle Team will continuously monitor the abnormal players to create a fair competition environment. Any action that can harm the game environment will not be allowed under any condition.
We know that some non-Chinese speakers are following the game, and we are unable to add more languages to the game at this time, nor can we guarantee the accuracy of the translation, so you may need to use some translation tools (such as deepL or chatgpt) to read our messages. Sorry about that!
Your feedback has been taken into account, and we've improved certain aspects (the victory point issue), made some balancing adjustments and, of course, fixed the inevitable bugs! This update was intended to include an alternative deployment mechanism for Polish forces, as a content addition. However, tests carried out over the weekend revealed that the mechanism was working unsatisfactorily. This option will therefore be included in the next update.
Nonetheless, this update is copious (in addition to what is mentioned above):
New units, including an option, when playing the alternate history game, which gives the Polish player five infantry divisions and a cavalry division of Ukrainian volunteers; in the 1930s, vague plans for this were sketched out by the Polish authorities; the option considers that these plans have been realized.
In an alternative history game, the Polish player can also buy French MS.406 fighters or Fairey Battle tactical bombers from the British, with the possibility of them arriving in the game;
New cards that contribute to rebalancing and the victory point issue; now, even more than before, the German player has to move fast or the Polish player has to cause a more or less significant drop in his opponent's victory level; with a lot of luck, this level could even collapse;
A new resilience mechanism for the main Polish infantry divisions and cavalry brigades: from now on, all destroyed units can eventually come back into play in a diminished form, making the game with the Polish side much more interesting.
The game remains difficult on the Polish side, but it also becomes so on the German side, as each opponent has radically opposed obligations, which leads to tense situations, difficult decisions and often crucial battles... German power can grow while Polish resilience is not infinite... Enjoy the game, and thanks again for your interest!
The English translation is currently under development and is expected to be finalized within approximately two weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
We are excited to share a developer stream today for Save & Sound! We will be in the chat to answer any of your questions, and would love to hear your feedback and thoughts on the game. We will also be showcasing a new music video at 9pm UK here on Monday, September 11th. You can join in on the conversation over on our Discord after the event! We hope to see you there!
Spoiler warning!
Solutions to demo puzzles will be shown during the broadcast!
DRIFTER’S TALES: Recasted - A narrative board game - TheFirstSpine
Hello everyone ! Last time we shared a few tricks that we use to make every fight in Drifter's Tales as epic as possible. Today we are going to reveal the first moments in the game.
And yes, it's time for you to find out how your adventure will begin!
The very first step of your journey will introduce you to one of the biggest new features compared to the original game. Your character has a story!
This origin will be chosen randomly from 4 available: Healer, Blacksmith, Architect or Priest. Each story will allow you to gradually unlock new cards. For example, the Architect will be able to modify the game board while the Blacksmith will improve his cards to make them stronger and more resistant!
Drifter’s Tales has a fairly significant replay value. Because in addition to having this origin, you will have to choose a path and play 6 stories among the 12 available in a single run. And if you want to try another path your run, you can try it with the New Game + mode.
Buy a ticket to Carmina
Whatever your origin, you will have to board the Victoire which will take you to Carmina, the new region covered in this game.
Not far from this vendor, a secret will be revealed to you, allowing you to enhance your deck with a new card. Because yes, we have stuffed the game with secrets of all kinds! The covenants will no longer be the only puzzles to solve, you will have to be attentive and think outside the box to complete your collection of cards.
The first battle
Arriving in Carmina, you will have to very quickly lead your first fight against “Someone”. Your hand will be predefined and each stage of the fight will be explained to you as you go.
We focused on clarity in this part of the game by overhauling the entire combat system. Camera movements will accompany your actions to allow you to concentrate on the action in progress.
You will notice in the gif that accompanies this article that there is no loading between combat and exploration occurs. Everything is fluid, and we are very happy with the transition effects that accompany the state changes between exploration & combat!
Aside: Steam Next Fest & Twitch streams
We will be participating in the Steam Next Fest from October 9th to 16th. This will be the opportunity for you to download a demo of the game containing the first 3 stories. We have also integrated feedback from our alpha tests into this demo (and we thank you for your valuable feedback!)
Finally, you will be able to participate in the development of the game on Twtich because we stream certain development sessions here: https://www.twitch.tv/teddydeveloppeunjeu
