New Season and Theme:

After taking some well-deserved summer holidays, the team is back with a new season of content! This time we're going back to school! Yay! If there's one thing everyone loves, it's school! That's why we've cooked up some scholarly tanks and what-nots for season 24!

We are working on some new game modes and plan on creating a new competitive mode which should put to rest the boosting issue once and for all!! Stay tuned....

Other Enhancements:
• NEW: Custom Tank as decided by the COMMUNITY! - Robo-Spider
• NEW: School themed Skins (Bus, Pencil, Eraser)

Also, keep your eye out for our new MOD TANK, given out to the hardest working mod team on Discord! Behave yourself when you spot one. They can and will drop the BAN HAMMER!!!

See you out there!

Summer is over and it's time to get back to work on Groundfall! ːsteamhappyː

My primary focus in upcoming patches will be around:
  • Missions - add more engaging missions that are fun and reward the player with loot, airplane mods, etc. Including more complex missions, different mission types and different mission providers (e.g. NPCs).
  • Airplane - flight characteristics, flaps and trim indicators, upgrades and modifications.
  • Maps - different terrain styles and biomes and more points of interest to explore.
  • Core Functionality - removing bugs and getting the existing systems working better.

====================================================
This patch includes the following (and lots of small improvements) -

Additions:
  • New missions: a few new missions with more on the way.
  • New "Big Mountains" map: Unlock this map by landing at all the runways in the Training and Groundfall National Forest maps.
  • Added a runways completed HUD indicator when inside the airplane. This shows the number of runways landed out of the total (e.g. 4/15).
  • Added new stilt-cabins located on beaches in the Big Mountains map.
  • Dynamic Windsocks: direction and speed effect the windsock direction and animations. Wind does not yet affect the airplane, but it will soon.

Updates:
  • Save system: completed landing objectives and side missions are now saved with other game data. Also, updated the UI. Note: there are still some save bugs (e.g. don't try to save while inside the airplane) that I will continue to work on.
  • Mission/objective UI now consistent with existing style.
  • Changed HUD markers colors for airstrips. Red=not landed, Grey=landed, Green=next objective.
  • Changed HUD map to remain stationary while the player/airplane marker moves.
  • Disabled multi-player until further notice. Several bugs had caused it to be almost un-playable.
  • Cabin are mostly located near the runways, but not all runways have a cabin.

Bugs Fixes:
  • Wrong mini-map image in Training map.
  • Increased player look rotation speed.
  • Bent prop effect when damaging propeller.

Hi all,

We’ve been hard at work on a new mode that allows for persistent character save slots. Before we add it and other improvements into the game via a patch, we are running a short Open Beta to ensure everything is working properly first. If you’d like to test these features, you can join the Open Beta by selecting the Beta tab in the branch selector.

Here's what you can test in Open Beta. More information is in the below FAQ.

Persistent Character Save Slots

There is a new multiplayer mode where you can keep your current or new characters forever, even if you start a new game. Open Beta has Persistent Game Mode that allows character progression in multiple worlds, instead of having the characters tied to each save. After Open Beta, this mode will be patched into the original game.

Open Beta Patch Notes

  • Fixed item dupe involving dropping and scrolling inventory.
  • Wizard Skill Arcanist Fix arcane amplification upgrade.
  • Walls of Gadir cancel discard card.
  • Instanced loot fixed an issue when dropping only non-instanceable loot.
  • Multiple level fixes.
  • Difficulty level shown in HUD.
  • Mana cost on Flurry of Blades.
  • Elemental Flux lightning damage fix.
  • Banner of Zeal should now give the correct cast speed.
  • Battle Banners extra upgrades are now mutually exclusive.
  • Fix for player tiers on drop in join.
  • Arcanist crit damage fix.
  • Instanced loot game-setting fix.
  • Persistent character saves added.
  • FPS limit defaults to 120 from none in the graphics options.
  • Added system for automatic saves backup.

Open Beta FAQ

Q: How long will the Open Beta run?
Open Beta will run for at least a week, and possibly longer to ensure that all features are working properly.

Q: When will the patch go live after Open Beta?
Our goal is to release the patch as soon as we can, but we want to ensure that the new features don’t impact the original game. The patch will go live once we determine everything is working properly.

Q: What are the main features included in Open Beta?
The biggest change is the new persistent character system, where you can keep your current or new characters forever, even if you start a new game.
The Persistent Game Mode allows you to bring characters into other people’s campaigns. This includes the option to export saved characters from Original mode into Persistent mode.

Q: What are the main differences between Open Beta and the current game?
Open Beta has Persistent Game Mode that allows character progression in multiple worlds, instead of having the characters tied to each save. After Open Beta, this mode will be patched into the original game.

Q: How do I join the Open Beta?
You can join the Open Beta by selecting the Beta tab in the branch selector.

Q: Will I keep my progression during Open Beta?
Yes, it will still be there after the beta ends.

Q: Can I bring saved characters into Open Beta and continue my progression?
No, the progression in the campaign/world is tied to the save game. Your characters, items, money, level and tier will be saved however. If you start a new game with the same character you will have to restart the campaign.

Q: How do I bring my character progression from Open Beta into the main game?
If you are inside your old save game, you can press escape and then use the export function to save down your character into the persistent character list.

Q: If I create a new character for Open Beta, can I keep the character’s progression?
Yes, it will still be there after the beta ends.

Q: Is there a risk of my character losing saved data during Open Beta?
There is a save backup system implemented in Open Beta that mitigates any risk of this occurring.

Q: Will there be bugs in Open Beta?
This is a patch in development, so there will be bugs that occur in this Open Beta.

Cheers,
Your Crackshell and Modus teams

New

  1. New Map - The Dungeons

This Map requires the player to get keys to open doors so they can reach the end. You'll have to clear the dungeon every other Map until all bosses are taken down and you reach Endless.

  2. New Boss - The Keeper

Boss waits at the end of The Dungeons. Will reward players with new skills and sometimes even gear upon defeat.

  3. 20 New Skills

The new skills can only be obtained by defeating The Keeper. Dive in and experiment with all them.

  4. Two New Enemies

The Ghoul - Can only spawn from Area Spawners in The Dungeons and from Corpse Raiser' projectiles.

Area Spawner - This is unique in that it doesn't do anything but summon enemies whenever the player is near. It can summon any normal enemy including The Ghoul and Slime bombs.

  5. Keys and Doors!

The player can now collect keys and use them to unlock doors inside of The Dungeons. Keys will be kept until death, so it may be beneficial to collect them early on.

  6. Dialogue!

It's not much but The Smith will now talk to you when you first start a new game, after each major boss kill(Slime Lord, Orcus and Corpse Raiser), before you fight him and after you defeat him.

Changes

  1. Reduced movement speed from 450 to 400.
  2. Reduced movement speed bonus from Swiftfoot from 50 per level to 25 per level.
  3. Changed Orcus' three hit combo to send out a wave at the end.
  4. Slime Lord will now gain the ability to mass toss under 50% HP instead of just doing one mass toss at 50% HP.
  5. Corpse Raiser will now spawn either ghouls or chargers from his projectiles. Decided randomly each attack.
  6. Added ability to changed Auto Loot and Auto Dismantle settings from inside the inventory. This should help when shopping and you don't want to dismantle what you buy. You don't have to leave the shop to change it now, just simply open the inventory and uncheck it.
  7. Changed stamina and mana display values to no longer display decimals.
  8. Reduced damage numbers size by roughly 50%~. These changes are reflected in the trailer and I will change them back depending on feedback.
  9. Players can now open big chests by attacking them.
  10. Time until tier increases changed from 5 minutes to 10 minutes.
  11. Enemies will now gain additional stats depending on overall time as well as tier increases.
  12. Enemies can now be knocked off maps wherever there is a hole. You can't know them off the outer edges.
  13. Zooming in or out of the minimap will no longer changes the cameras zoom as well.
  14. Crates now have a minimap icon to help the player find them. Crates will also destroy themselves once the player has completed the side objective.
  15. Changed autocasting to better handle auto attacks. (Fireballing, Basic Swinging and Acid Lobbing)

There may be more I changed and added but I honestly forgot. :)

Warlord: Britannia - Darkmatter
Legates,

Greetings! It has been a while since the last official announcement. In fact, Steam (as opposed to Discord, where my announcements are more frequent and less formal) has not been treated to any news since Animals and Ambience, before my trip to Greece, my apologies for this. Well, I have been back in the States and hard at work these past two months! After a series of delays, it became very hard to pinpoint an exact date for the Cavalry update, but things are finally coming together!

I am happy to announce Cavalry will be launching next week, Friday the 15th, alongside a 20% discount! Not only has this update taken the longest to finish, but it also contains the most new "things," and the largest file size increase to date. Both Roman and Barbarian forces are getting big upgrades, the conflict over Britannia will ratchet up even further.

Get ready to trade in your gladius for a spatha, and Mount up! I will be working now to get the last things done for the release. Thank you all for your patience as we approach the final Warlord: Britannia major update, this will be very exciting. Until then!
