Writing for Chapter 7 is all done and the word count hits the 110,996 mark as of now! I’ve been posing and working on edits for the first 90k words or so. I’m going at a really good pace now that the words are down and I can see how all the events play out. Been going back and forth between editing and making art for the CGs these past couple of weeks.
When I sit down to draw, I usually stream it on Discord, so you can be on the lookout for those hangouts!
All July and August postcards have been sent, so if yours doesn't arrive within the next couple of weeks, please DM me!
If you want to get postcards and stickers delivered directly to your doorstep (int’l addresses accepted too!), consider joining as a Junior or higher. Recently, I’ve put out goodies for fans of Demi, Rafi, Shaun, Thomas, Prof, and Jay, with character and location-themed designs rolling out every month!
You can see the Chapter 7 sneak peek of a rougher encounter on Patreon if you’re a Dropout or Alumni!
September’s postcard shows Rafi and Demi actually getting along for the sake of art. Check out the low-res preview below. This is for Juniors+ at no additional cost! Add an address to your pledge settings if you want it. Check out the low-res preview below.
This month’s set features an illustration of Shaun being flustered (wonder what he’s seeing), a BabyGirl Jay-themed sticker, and a sticker to show school pride for our very own Sugardale University. Go Honeypots!
Need more character content in the meantime? Read Jay’s, Jace’s, Gabe’s, and Prof’s character interviews in the meantime!
We will be taking the server offline from Friday to Sunday so that we can complete a data migration and rigorously test our new client/server patching system.
This will result in the server location being in the EU during the maintenance mode of the game, we apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

During the second week of Trial of the Ancestors, our community on Twitch has achieved so much! From Mirror drops to builds that finish maps faster than you could read this! We've gathered a few highlights in today's news post.
Exciting news! Next week, we're heading to London, more specifically to WASD in the Truman Brewery. We're taking Beneath with us for its inaugural public showcase. If you're in the area, come join us at Booth T5.3 and try the demo. We can't guarantee there will be cookies, but we'll try!
This week we continue to adjust game mechanics, optimize art and user experience, and fix bugs. The production and design of the new DLC is also proceeding in an orderly manner!
You can try Journey to the West on iOS here in Apple Store!
DLC female protagonist setting: The new characters are a pair of twin sisters, sword spirits belonging to the same sword, one is the blade and the other is the scabbard. The character will have the characteristics of one body and two souls, the light soul is focusing on attacking, and the shadow soul is focusing on skills. Players can switch forms at any time during the battle to maximize output. At present, the design of the new protagonist has been basically completed, and the logic implementation, animation, special effects, sound effects, plot, etc. are expected to be completed before the end of the year.
Game adjustments
The Exquisite Tower has been reworked, no longer restricts the number of cards to be played, but puts a Amused card into your hand every round.
Absolute evasion and Invincible for one turn, will be check first, so that count based Invincible and Evasion will not be consumed.
Essence of Energy increases energy by 1 when used. It takes effect immediately, so you don't have to wait until the next round.
Essence of Capacity draws 1 card when used. The same is true for the essence of Qi.
Vulnerability fixes
Fixed the avatar of the Oxhead and Horse Face in the event battle.
Fixed the background music problem of the Furnace of Heaven challenge.
- Made doors wider because it was somewhat tough to move through them at times. - Made Yujiro faster (faster than you as well) as players found it weird that the thief moved faster than him. Use any obstacles to your advantage and dodge him the best you can. - Added a voice line to the Cola before you have all 15 items as some players were confused why they couldn't pick it up. - Made Yujiro's vision further as there was a bug if you're at his max range when he spots you. - Moved a few items around. - Changed some textures on the outside mansion model. - Fixed various bugs.
