GRIME - Yarden
Hey there, just a quick hotfix for the newly introduced bugs from the most recent 1.2.41 patch, namely:

- The area after Pale Sky no longer loading.
- Some areas taking much longer to load.
- Spiral Heart Achievement no longer triggering.
- Random areas of the map being hidden again.
+ (This specific bug has been fixed so that it won't happen again for new players. However, those that it already triggered for unfortunately can only uncover their map again by walking over those areas. We are sorry for the inconvenience.)

We are aware of a small visual artifact with some UI elements and will work on a fix soon.

Hello Exorcists!

We are back to keep you updated on the progress of the next update for Ghost Exorcism INC!
We are preparing a whole bunch of new features for you, which we can't fully detail here, just yet!

Firstly, we are actively working on controller compatibility for Ghost Exorcism INC. Many have expressed their desire to see this feature, and we are working on implementing it as soon as possible.

We are also preparing three new types of evidence for you to discover with your favorite entities. We will provide more details in upcoming announcements.

Additionally, a new map is coming. Do you like creepy atmospheres? Do you love getting completely lost in locations haunted by malevolent entities? You're going to enjoy our next map.

Last but not least, an improvement to an existing game mode will arrive and will offer you a challenge worthy of the name!

Xenonauts 2 - Goldhawk
August was a busy month for us here at Goldhawk, and we've spent it hard at work improving Xenonauts 2! Here's what we've been up to over the past four weeks.

New Versions:
Last month we continued to patch and improve our existing build (Milestone 1), culminating in us releasing v1.32 onto the standard Steam branches and v1.33 onto the Experimental branch today. We've fixed a lot of crashes and other bugs in that time, but also addressed wider issues like adding options to change the duration of timed missions and fixing the memory leaks affecting performance.

We've also begun working on our next major update, Milestone 2. A very early build of this is available on our new "Prototype" branch, and if you want to give thoughts on our changes then please read this (long) post which explains what we're trying to achieve and how you can access the build. Early feedback is always appreciated!

Finally, I want to talk briefly about loading times. We did investigate these last month but any substantial improvement to load times would involve changing the format of the save, which would break existing saved games. We'll therefore be working on load times this month as part of our work on Milestone 2 (as saves from Milestone 1 will be incompatible with Milestone 2 anyway).

Expanding the Team:
Part of the reason for our relatively slow progress on Milestone 2 has been the expansion of our team over the past couple of weeks. Our small team size has left us in a situation where we've collected a lot of useful gameplay improvements / suggestions and bug reports from the community since release, but we've only been able to tackle the most urgent of these.

Given we already work long hours, the only way to make a serious dent in the task lists was to get more manpower. We've therefore hired another full-time programmer (an old friend that worked with us on the original Xenonauts) plus two highly experienced part-time programmers to help out. Many thanks to anyone that applied for the position after reading our last update - we really appreciated so many enthusiastic people reaching out!

Furthermore, we've also brought on some new people to help with QA, game design and level design. You should start to see new maps appearing this month, and we are now aiming to reply to all community bug reports on a daily basis.

Overall, this should dramatically increase the speed of our work over the coming months. However, the hiring process sucking time away from other tasks is why Milestone 2 has ended up a bit behind schedule.

Modding Tools:
Another thing we worked on last month is the mod loader and Steam Workshop integration for Xenonauts 2, which is now nearly complete. However, to make modding viable we also need a standalone tool to allow users to easily edit the game files.

We've already done the backend work for this tool, so the remaining task is to create a GUI that hooks into this and displays the information in a sensible way - but as the dev team is focused on the game itself right now, it'll probably be a few months before we could start work on that.

However, it seems like there is some interest among our playerbase for creating an open-source community mod tool that does exactly this, and we're looking at how we as developers might be able to support that (as it would be a win-win for everyone). If you're potentially interested in contributing, there is more information in this thread.

Hi all!

Autumn is coming, and we are actively continuing to work on improving our game. We have prepared a bunch of nice improvements and fixes for you.




  • Placing a thumb preview of a created stage on the workshop. Now, you can make a photo from the game and use it as a preview image for workshop items.
  • Two new shooting ranges - Forest Slope (we tried to make it very familiar :)) and Texas. The new locations are available in the Arcade menu - enjoy!






  • Handguns recoil revised
  • The multitool slot now has a new inventory slot implementation, which makes it more user-friendly.
  • In this update, you can organize custom stages by folders, which is essential if you have many of them.


  • Checklist behavior at the beginning of a firing course has been revised, and "Make Ready?" related issues have been fixed.
  • AK12M1 magazine insertion, as well as fire selector logic, have been fixed
  • Steel Challenge scoring fixed

Patch 1.1 is a comprehensive update so we can shift all our resources to the main game development. It requires a full switch over so we can fix the demo separately from the development of the main game.

Some of the code required some main game updates (XML Serialization code updates) to ensure that the save states are more stable. This is taking more time than expected.

The game will be available as a non steam game as well.

A monthly update will also happen once the patch is out with a Post Demo Survey!
This will be your moment to adjust the future development of the main game as we refine our processes.

The summer months were busy for the whole team, as we were preparing new builds for two major gaming events.

It was heartwarming to see a record-breaking crowds at Gamescom 2023. Players had a chance to play through a chunk of the first act of the game and familiarize themselves with the mission design, crafting, combat, base management and of course the impact of madness on everything what's happening.



We also took this as a opportunity to gather feedback from players with some of the proposals already in the making!

Our friends from Daedalic Entertainment flew across the Atlantic to present the game to American audience during PAX West. This event didn't disappoint either, with crowds eager to check whether 2D survival horror can actually scare and provide intense atmosphere (SPOILER: It can).



But now let's move to the biggest announcement. We have joined Fear Fest 2023: Black Summer, the biggest horror event, streamed live by IGN. Check out our Gameplay Reveal Trailer!
