Virtex Stadium Playtest returns online on September 8/9/10 with the TFT SuperBrawl!


We will be showing the whole SuperBrawl tournament. Servers will open from 15:15 CEST until the end of each day's competition.

We have implemented two main fixes to the build: the stream should load much faster, and it shouldn't require nearly as much RAM - we'd love to hear your feedback about it!

Naheulbeuk's Dungeon Master - Terry_Dear Villagers (Com Dev)

Hello everyone. It's Terry again! Community Developer of Dear Villagers.

Before you begin your work as Reivax, the Dungeon Steward. It's better to know his history and his role in the game. Let's dive in!


5 Fun Facts about Reivax


1. A graduate of the Bitter Warlock Sidekick Certification, Reivax has recently applied for the job of chief minion for the famous Zangdar, Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master.

2. Coward and cunning by nature, he is venal and much more intelligent than the others. Some say he secretly runs the dungeon, taking advantage of the Zangdar's credulity. But Zangdar keeps a close eye on his actions and never misses an opportunity to remind him who is in charge.

3. A smooth talker, he has been accused of embezzlement, false invoicing, and other strange misappropriations. He remains loyal to the Zangdar’s business unless threatened, as he does not support physical pain.

4. Linguist, he speaks goblin, orc, raven code, ogre, and common troll.

5. Reivax was born in the northern part of the country, in the town of Mlaüke to be exact. He served at various posts for a short time before finding work in the Dungeon of Naheulbeuk.



Reivax and his duties


The Dungeon has been in a poor state for too long. As Reivax, the servile (or not) Steward, your mission is to restore it to its former glory and make it profitable!

In the game, you must build up the Dungeon's reputation and make it the most feared and attractive place in the Lands of Fangh. Meanwhile, don't let Zangdar's patience gauge run out! Otherwise, it's game over!


Human Resources

Your first job, of course, is to manage the dungeon's human resources.

Hire less useless personnel to work, defend, raid, and serve your boss, Zangdar. As the Steward, you have several missions in the HR section:

Improve the minions’ working conditions without exceeding the budget! Each employee you hire has a morale gauge, mainly influenced by fun, hygiene, energy, hunger, food type and quality, and ... getting paid. You must make sure to fulfil their needs for them to perform!

Put the minions to work! Each one has its own job, rank, origin, and expectations. As your minions' expectations are met, the dungeon's reputation increases. Higher-ranking minions earn more money and fail less often, and vice versa.

Fire your minions if they are bad at their job or if they protest with impossible demands. You can also help them "understand" with a little tour in jail with your torturers...

Ensure the working conditions of your minions: Improve the sanitary facilities and hire decent domestics to attract a certain class of customers or servants.


Treasurer

Once you've hired your minions to work in the dungeon, you'll need to manage your budget and most importantly... make money!

Firstly, the Dungeon of Naheulbeuk is not a charity. As Reivax, you will need to develop the tavern to bring in some income.

Manage the tavern: This fine establishment will be your main source of income. You must maximize its profits. Serve the right drinks to the right group of customers, separate the henchmen from you wealthiest customers. Do everything you can to gain Tripes Adviser sausages, your tavern’s prestige indicator.

Produce: Production is the key to prosperity and monopoly, so you need to generate a wide range of resources to flood the market! Tools, weapons, compost, astral energy and more! Stock them to gain advantages and sell them to gain money!

Kill adventurers: A Dungeon with a better reputation means more adventurers. More adventurers means more gold for the Dungeon when proof of death of the avid adventurers is provided to the Dungeons Fund.

Accounting: View the tavern's financial report to see its income and expenses. This will help you adjust your strategy and ensure profitability!



Interior Design

In the game, you will also need to work on the interior design and decoration of the Dungeon. This is one of the ways in which you can increase the prestige of the rooms and thus the reputation of the dungeon.



Security of the Dungeon

The Guard Room is vital to the defence of the Dungeon's entrance. Your job is to hire the guards to protect the dungeon from invaders!

You must build the guard lockers! Each locker automatically recruits one or more guards. They will do their job until the alarm goes off. When it does, they will automatically go into battle.

Deathbound - Tate Multimedia
Greetings Wanderers,

We thought we would come to you today with a presentation of screenshots from the world of Zieminal and tell you a little more about what you can see in them. We're really keen to explain to our players the rules of the grim world you'll be able to explore in Deathbound.

On the first screenshot you can see the duel between one of the playable characters, the assassin Anna, and a Death Soldier - Elite Warriors from the Church of Death. As you are also able to see, the streets of the city of Akratya are on fire, as the infidels are immolated in the pyres by the Church for their sins.



The second screenshot is a scene in which Anna spots the essence of Therone, another of the playable characters. In Deathbound, an extremely important part of the game is capturing the essences of fallen warriors and building a party to help you survive in a tech-medieval world tarnished by the gruesome conflict between Church of Death and Cult to Life.



The third screenshot from the game shows one of the game's heavy playable characters, with his massive hammer as their main weapon, causing real nightmares for the enemies he encounters. The fighting styles in Deathbound will be diverse, and it will be up to you which approach you choose in any given situation - a lot will also depend on your party and the warriors you select.



In this screenshot, you can see Anna in the heat of battle with one of the abominations, created by the Cult to Life in their laboratories while experimenting on the search for eternal life. In Deathbound you will face a number of enemies, with a varied types of attacks and animations that will present a challenge.



The screenshot below shows a statue from Old Ones, the first inhabitants of the city of Akratya, at a time when humans were still immortal. The Statue is located at Zehrimbal Stadium - one of the main points of public interest in Akratya, now turned into a fortress by the members of the Cult to Life.

We're all finally back from all kinds of vacations, hooray! It's business as usual from now on: a shiny new update every 2 weeks. This one brings some new buildings, updated visuals, new music & much more:

We'd also like to comment on one of the messages we got via the in-game feedback form. This one is from Marcus

Q: "Saving blueprint bug: I want to save a two layer blueprint. My layout extends one row to the south more on sublevel than on surface. If I mark the area correctly (one extra row) on surface and press Ctrl+S the parts of that extra row were cut off. The same happens if I save while sublevel is active. Than the north part of the surface buildings is gone.
It seems, the selection is narrowed down to the visible buildings on active level. But it should contain the buildings inside the selection of both levels!"

A: This is not a bug, we just can't know in advance whether a player wants to capture a blueprint with buildings from another layer inside all selection area or not (for example if it just convenient to select a bigger area). We will add an option for this selection in the future.

Greetings mercenaries!

Welcome to the third Update Preview, giving you a sneak peek of some of the upcoming changes & additions to Combat & Battles.

Today's preview is the last one before Community Update #2, we hope that you have enjoyed this short but sweet series of articles!

Battlemap objects
When you can’t use your wits, you've got to be ready to use anything else.

You can already find a few fun things on battlemaps: rusty spears, poisonous gas, fire traps, bear traps, you name it. But we were feeling generous. And more importantly, we felt that every biome should feel different. Fighting in varied environments is nice, but that feeling gets much stronger if you know you’re going to fight a bit differently in every one of them.



  • In fields, you’ll throw pumpkins at your opponents, which might (understandably) get them confused.



  • In forests, you’ll throw poisoned axes at them.



  • In marshlands, you’ll find abandoned bombs and potholes filled with flammable liquids. This additional explosive potential will give you the opportunity to dissipate poisonous gas (only to replace it with flames).
  • In plains and mountains, you’ll find familiar flowers, and those will allow you to heal during battle.



  • In towns, you’ll find obstacles that can be destroyed when hit.
  • In ruins, you’ll find abandoned torches that can be thrown and spread fire where they land.

Extreme difficulty
Experience Wartales in the most painful way possible.

This has been in our plans for a long time. There are already many ways to increase difficulty in Wartales, but we do know that some of you can never get enough suffering. This is our gift to the most dedicated, most hardcore, most masochistic players out there. We’ve made everything straight up ruthless, unforgiving and unattainable. Enjoy <3



In extreme mode:
  • There is no “dying” status. Your companions are alive until they’re not.
  • Every cowardly companion that runs away from a fight can be considered dead. Dead to us, anyway.
  • Of course, it is no longer possible to retreat.
  • All prison sentences are life sentences.
  • Failed your job mini-game? Too bad. You leave empty-handed.
  • Oh, wait! Thieves do get something when they mess up: injured.
  • Don’t rely on merchants for resources: they barely have any supplies.
  • You earn less gold, less happiness and less of pretty much everything good.
  • You get more suspicion, more enemies, and more tired.
  • Hostile groups run faster.
  • Skills cost more AP.

Quality of life
Games should be hard, not tedious.

Yes, we have crafted nightmarish challenges and deadly traps for you. But we’d like you to experience them in the most comfortable way possible. That’s why we’ve introduced several quality of life improvements, two of which have to do with fighting. The first will give you more freedom in how you organize for combat and manage your units during fights. The second will give you more information, helping you avoid frustrating situations.



  • It is now possible to customize the order of your units’ skills in the skillbar.
  • Environmental hazards such as fire, poison or mud now have clear delimitations displayed on hover.

Other changes
Fight more. Fight better.

Even though we’ve been busy designing major features and preparing the future of Wartales, we must never forget to improve previous features and pay attention to the little details that can make the game better. Overall, we are trying to make Wartales’ fights feel natural, fair and interesting.

  • Escaping fights in forsaken villages should now be easier when you have a small team. You will also escape more easily if a large proportion of your companions tries to find an escape (but they might get hurt as they neglect defending themselves against foes).
  • Merchant caravans can now be attacked randomly by bandits. If you defend them and manage to save the merchants’ lives, you will be rewarded.
  • The quality of the gear you find on enemies can now vary (until now, it was always low). Your blacksmith can also increase the quality of these items in the forge, in exchange for resources.

Copy Sound- and Key Commands from Other Chapters
Since the stream update you could copy a whole chapter when you create a new one. But you were not able to copy selected sound or key commands. With the copy update you are now able to copy sound- and key commands from other chapters easily when you add a new sound- or key command. You can even copy multiple sound- or key commands simultaneously.

Additionally:
There was a bug where SpellCaster could crash when you change the input times after recording a key command. Changing the input times works now properly.
The Wreck - ThePixelHunt
There was a bug on the Mac version of the game: it was impossible to select the Simplified Chinese localization. It should now work. Thanks for your patience!
