Train World - Dmytro
As promised the game continues to be updated, new features are added and issues are addressed. I constantly publish updates with fixes and new features. I try to swiftly react to the issues or requests that the players have. Below is a list of features that were added/updated/fixed during the past 3 weeks.
Features added:
  • Added a toggle to the map view that will keep the map camera position on the view changes
  • Added per-platform maintenance for multi-platform stations
  • Added signals auto placement tool (allows instant placing of multiple signals)
  • Added ability to rebind controls. In the tutorial, default controls will be used. Help also will reference default controls. Keys like Esc, Tab (for view switch), and cursor keys could not be changed
  • Added sandbox game mode where a player can choose: starting era, unlock all regions, unlock all research within the starting era, infinite money, and keep all unlocked locomotives and wagons from all eras in the store. Achievements are disabled for sandbox mode
  • Added double rail construction. Junctions and crossings should be done via single-rail construction. Everything else is the same as with regular rail construction
  • Added email subscription for Turn Point Games. This will be used only for major announcements
Updated features:
  • Taxes made more aggressive for difficulty setting "Hard"
  • Updated rail construction (reduced number of overlapping errors)
  • Signals assigned to lines can be removed via the UI panel
  • Updated signals panel and help section
  • Improved stability during level/save loading
  • Updated map contour lines, added a second set of contour lines, and improved graphics
  • Increased zoom-in value on the map (zoom closer to the surface is possible now)
  • Parallel bridges and tunnels will update together if they share structures
  • When two trains lock each other the error message will turn red. This will help identify locked trains faster
  • Updated minimap, an alternative way to display relevant information was introduced. This should eliminate crashes due to memory leaks
  • Guides in the world view, were made semi-transparent to improve the rail construction experience
  • The second press on the pause will set the previous time scale
  • Reduced research points generation. After the introduction of the X16 time scale, a player could go through the first era too quickly
  • Updated rails appearance and speed limits. The first-era speed limit is set to 100 km/h (60 mi/h). Upon entering the second era all rails automatically upgrade to the maximum speed of 160 km/h (100 mi/h). In the third era, regular rail's maximum speed stays at 160 km/h (100 mi/h) with the unlockable ability to build/upgrade to the high-speed rails at 320 km/h (200 mi/h).
Issues fixed:
  • Fixed loan button being disabled on some occasions
  • Fixed price display for trains bulk replace
  • Fixed guides showing in the mini-map after deletion
  • Fixed error in the help menu
  • Fixed 3rd era missing locomotives
  • Fixed missing passenger connections (old saves and new games)
  • Fixed station replacement not activating the connection
  • Fixed a number of achievements
  • Fixed ability to place station that collides with other stations
  • Fixed "End game" on negative company value
  • Fixed train maintenance reducing general maintenance
  • Fixed rails slope/height resetting when confirming rail construction via UI
  • Fixed Steam cloud saves not deleting
  • Fixed error during signal placement
  • Fixed train errors not updating on train edit
  • Fixed passenger trains "jumping" at the station on some occasions
  • Fixed error on train assignment to lines that have no path
  • Fixed parallel bridges and tunnels not presenting correctly
  • Fixed an ability to switch time scale during construction via keyboard
  • Fixed Alco PAPB price, some other trains got their prices and

I am so happy I finally have time to write to you! Last week kept me pretty busy, but was super special! The team finally got together for our very first real company trip in Cologne! We rented this charming old house for all of us for a whole week to spend time with each other and of course go to Gamescom. But the reason it was so special was that it was the very first time most of us met in real life! I’ve been looking forward to this for months!

So, moi rai games was started by Sersch some years ago, when he was working on Monster Sanctuary. He was working mostly alone but later with help from his brother and his wife and at some point our first Community Manager from the US. Most of the team gradually joined after Monster Sanctuary’s release (you are my diary, so you should remember, I joined around April 2021) from all over Germany, US, the Netherlands and Brazil! As we are all spread around the world, we never had an actual office. Working together remotely works great. We can choose our hours, don't have to commute somewhere and we still manage to spend quality time as a team playing stuff together online or having virtual coffee dates. But still… meeting in real life is different and that’s why this trip was so so so sooo exciting for all of us!!!

And maaaaan it was so cool to meet everyone! We taught each other our native languages (I can say so much cool stuff in BR Portuguese now huehuehue), had a huge snack pile and one of us (no name dropping) did a ranking of who seemed the most different from their online-version.



One of the first things we did was a hike! I guess that’s what you do at teambuilding events. We went up Drachenfels and Drachenburg (“Dragon Fort”). I felt like that was a bit dangerous since there were dragons living in that forest, but well, the others are badasses, what can I do



The view we got was pretty nice! All the way down and into all the little castle windows... Ooooooh... so many d e t a i l s I would have missed, if I didn't look c l o s e e n o u g h.



The next day, we mostly enjoyed spending time together! We played a lot of cool boardgames (can’t believe I forgot to take a pic of our boardgame pile!), for example Dune. Even though it’s a game of betrayal, our programmer Manoah never betrayed me in our alliance. Team building works! Yeahi! We also tried some black magic potion cachaça that our pixel artist Jorge brought from Brazil with a fruit named Jambu, that makes your tongue numb for a couple of minutes. Crazy! And I got a new game idea! Monster charades with Monster Sanctuary and Aethermancer monsters! Man, diary, try doing an Ooze, that was hard... Oh!!! And I forgot to mention the great food we had in Cologne! Yummyyyyy ~



Wednesday was Gamescom day, woohoo! As expected, most of the time was spent in the Indie arena (since indie games are way cooler than AAA anyway, duh) playing all sorts of cool demos.



We actually also met a new colleague who will join us very soon! Gamescom was a really cool experience and I also took a lot of notes in case we ever get to have a booth there for Aethermancer...



We didn’t do that much work on Aethermancer this week (except capturing videos for social media! Are you proud of me diary?), but you know what? It was the right thing to do. All the great moments we had together made us only stronger as a team and I really believe that this will make Aethermancer an even better game!



Our trip came to an end at some point, which left a bittersweet taste and I do feel a little sad, but then again I am sure we’ll meet again and until then, I will just have to destroy the others online playing Overcooked!

Hi, offroad maniacs!

Today we come with a patch that includes some additional solutions for German and Swedish players having issues with diacritic signs binding on their keyboards instead of A. We are constantly looking into further problems with regional alphabets to provide a smooth experience for everyone.

Additionally, we have resolved a small visual issue with Pickup 1500. It made the car seem like it has no tires when going out to do events on maps. The tires were again visible upon returning to the garage, but now this bug should not appear anymore.

Please note: We are still working on the issue of parts being missing from the assembly mode selection menu, but still being present in storage. It is particularly hard to reproduce in a testing environment, so it may take us more time. Thank you for sending us saves and logs to help us find the source of the issue. The issue is resolved by reloading the save, so please use this solution until we provide a fix.

Offroad Mechanic Simulator Update 1.04



This update contains the following changes:
  • Added keyboard solution for the German language to resolve the A button misbinding problem
  • Added keyboard solution for the Swedish language to resolve the A button misbinding problem
  • Removed the issue of invisible tires on Pickup 1500 in some instances of driving out to map

ASKA - The Sad Snail

Today we’re hosting a Twitch stream to do a bit of catching up. Last weeks have been pretty busy, and ASKA hasn’t been sitting idle. We flew over to Cologne, Germany for Gamescom 2023, we finished up our very first multiplayer beta, and we’ve been adding quite a few cool things to the game!

Our multiplayer closed beta ran August 11-20, a test which has been especially exciting for us because it was the first proper run of our multiplayer game mode.
We’re happy to say that apart from some bugs which we’ve managed to fix post-test, the multiplayer mode seems solid, without any worrying issues.
So from now on we can focus on preparing the Open Beta, by fixing known issues and adding content.

New Enemy

One thing we’ve learned is that our enemies are a bit too hardcore for new players. There’s plenty to kill during medium and late game, but too few weak enemies to help you learn how to fight. This has led us to come up with The Wisp.
This is a weak entry-level enemy that haunts the shores of ASKA. The lost souls of dead mariners who refuse to leave this world form these wandering entities. Their bodies are made of driftwood and are kept alive by the blood of the Primal Jotun, which taints this land.

New Hat!

The elements continue to be one of the biggest enemies in ASKA, and so our craftsmen have perfected the newest clothing item in the war against cold: the Thick Linen Hood!
Besides feeding into our hooded hero fantasies, the hood is a sturdier alternative to the Linen Cap.

New Fortifications

As our enemies grow stronger and stronger with each build, so rises the need for stronger defenses. Our old wattle fences were in need of an upgrade and so our carpenters have been hard at work preparing the planks for a fresh new line of defenses: the Plank Wall, Tower and Gate. These will allow you to better fortify your villages and turn that shanty camp into a true fortified medieval village!
